Jurassic Park Shadows of History Intro and prologue
    By JPJunkee

    INTRODUCTION

In a world of lies and deceit, what can you willingly trust? In trust, I mean the baring of your body, career, and overall well-being. Trust is hardly ever willing. Hardly ever do you truly trust a man or thing so much, that you would openly unshield yourself to the world.

I find it sad and disturbing that the world is like this. And that we as a race, have come to accept it all. This itself is not right.

Why must we fall to the bidding of our world? Why can we not change it to be what we desire or wish it would be?

    Why?

Because we are human. And we as a species are blind to our own needs and our own faults. We are but dumb animals, with a little something called imagination. This imagination can do many wonderfully things.

But it could also bring upon death to our species. For our imaginations are flawed. Our very minds are flawed. Our sanity is so greatly flawed, that most of us should be the ones locked up in hospitals.

Our imaginations are not complete. We think of some of the grandest things, and with those thoughts we create! It is a truly wonderful thing. But only from one perspective. For even though our imaginations think up some of the greatest things that our world has to offer. It sometimes neglects to think of the future and the past.

Imagination thinks about how grand something will be once completed. But it doesn't consider the consequences that the creation could hold within or around it. Our imagination dreams and builds the creation. It is up to our eyes and sanity to realize the problems.

But with us being human, this system hardly works. We create the wonderful thing, but our eyes and sanity are to bold and proud to see the true flaws and potential dangers. Therefore, mistakes are made, and often times the loss of life occurs.

But, it is nature's way, right? Wrong. It is our way. And why is it our way? Because we accept it.

Our world is a chaotic masterpiece of destruction. And we've made it that way. Because we failed to realize the true meaning of our imaginations. We failed to look to the future. We failed to believe.

    We failed to succeed.

Ten years ago, this exact thing happened. A man named John Hammond imagined a grand world of living leviathans of the past. Dinosaurs. All there to do his bidding. All there to make his dream a reality.

In time, he created it. His imagination had the plan, and his money made the reality. And his sanity looked to the future. And the only thing it saw, were the smiling faces of little children all adoring his grand creation. It failed to look for more. It failed to look for flaws.

Creation was too fast. Mistakes were made. And one fateful day, John Hammond's dream came crashing down to reality. He could not accept the fact that these animals would not do his bidding. He was naive, and people lost their lives.

The grand dream, had become a devastating reality.

Now, someone is trying it again. Someone has the same dream. But is even more bold and even more naive. He thinks he can succeed where John Hammond has failed.

But when you take such a grand idea as Jurassic Park that failed so miserably, and try to duplicate it. Nothing but bad can result in it.

It is a Shadow of History. And every man should be warned to avoid it at all costs. Fate holds nothing back. Flaws will now become less apparent, lies will be hidden till the end. Duplication is the worst form of human ignorance.

    Death is inevitable.

    PROLOGUE

    1998

The two men sat staring at each other, both of them, eager for the meeting to end. But, both for totally different reasons.
Lewis Dodgson, a balding man in his early fifties, sat behind the desk, his eyes fixed on the other mans.
The other man was Asian, he was in his late forties, and had the smallest bit of gray on his temples. The Asian man was sweating, and his hands were shaking.
Dodgson observed this with a smile. What was the man feeling? Fear, doubt, regret, pity? Probably a bit of all, Dodgson concluded.
The man asked in a crackly voice, “What do you need?"
Dodgson's smile grew wider. Yes, there was fear. He could tell by the way the man spoke. Dodgson needed fear. Fear made everything easier. It kept employees loyal, and made your enemies cower. Fear, was a great ally.
"All your methods, on how it's done, and what the dangers are," Dodgson said,” And, some embryos to get us started."
The Asian grimaced,” How many embryos?"
    "A dozen."
"A dozen?" The Asian almost screamed.
Dodgson brought his right hand behind the desk, so the other man couldn't see it, then opened up a drawer. Without revealing his hand, Dodgson asked in a very stern voice,” Is that not except able?"
The Asian, thinking that Dodgson must have grabbed a gun, quickly replied,”No, no it's fine."
There was a short moment of silence. The tension growing, then the Asian asked, "How much . . . . . uh, how much will I get paid?"
Dodgson's smile disappeared. He hated this part. A man frightened to edge of sanity, betrays his emotions, whenever money is brought into the equation. Turning them into a vegetable in their own respects. "Nine million."
The shaking in the man's hands ceased. The fear diminishing, and giving way to elation. Obviously the number suited him. "When do you want them?" the man asked in a totally different voice than he had just used.
"I want them now. You will deliver any information, or embryos personally to me."
The Asian nodded, hardly hearing him. "Are there any papers I should sign?"
"I don't see why there should be. Paper work complicates things."
Dodgson could detect the man's concern. "Don't worry. You will be paid, and everything will be done correctly."
The Asian's concern faded, but his eyes still showed fret within them. "Will that be all then?" The man asked.
    "I think so, yes."
The Asian and Dodgson stood at the same time. And then the Asian saw in Dodgson's right hand, was a big black pen. They shook hands, and the Asian walked to the offices door. Before leaving, the Asian turned around and said,”It was a pleasure doing business with you Dr. Dodgson."
Dodgson smiled, "I assure you, the pleasure was all mine, Dr. Wu."
