The Arrival By J7
The story is set between the events of of Jurassic Park and the Lost World.
The ship was sinking, it was supposed to be a holilday, but Peter Chambers wished his was at home. He had took the vacation with his father in law Mark, a get to know you holilday. Everything was going fine until a fire had started in a compartment on one of the lower decks, that was at midnight now at 9 a.m. they were sinking. The deck of the ship was a sight of mass panic, but there was no reason for it. There was enough lifeboats and a tracking system had started they would be picked up in about six hours. “Please step forward sir” said a sailor to Chambers. The lifeboats were being launched, Peter stepped in one of the first ones with Mark. Mark was 56 and Peter was worried about his heart he had recently had a pacemaker operation. The lifeboat crashed into the water, there were 10 other people in the lifeboat making 12 in all. “Everything will be o.k.” Peter reassuring told his father.
6 days had gone, one by one the survivors had perished in the sun, there faces bright red with burns. Peter and Mark were as burn’t as the dead bodies that now littered the lifeboat, these people had been full of life only days ago. Peter and Mark had managed to survive with decanters of water Mark took before the ship had sank. The two lay in the corner secretly taking mouthfuls, making sure the ohters didn’t see them. Peter had at first wanted to share the water with the others, but knew the water would only last a couple of days. Peter looked out towards the horizon, where had all the other lifeboats gone, Peter had gradually seen the lifeboats srift apart. Peter looking out towards the horizon after quenching his first with the last mouthful of water started to think of food. With the question, anger rised in Peter as he lookd at the old face of Mark, or was it pity. As the other surviors one by one perished, Peter and Mark had decided to keep the bodies so they could be buried. A day latter they looked bemused at each other as they discussed what they had said before. Mark breaking the moment of laughter, then said “Ok help me lift them and put them overboard”. “What, no no, I’m not dying out here, I’m hungry” replied Peter. The bodies were left, the stench of them became quite terrible, Peter went to sleep one more day and he would be forced to taste human flesh. But next morning when he woke up the bodies had all gone, Mark had thrown them overboard. “I’m not doing that son, will’ll move faster now maybe the tied will take us some where good” said Mark. “Jesus Christ, I’ve got something to live for, you stupid old sod” angryly replied Peter. Now looking at the old man wrinkled face, he knew he would never see the facec of his son his daughter or beautiful wife again.
Peter woke up, his throat was dry he wanted to say something Mark, he got up with the last of his energy onto his elbows and looked voer at Mark, Peter was sure he had gone. Peter closed his eyes he was next, would he ever see the son set again.
The dishevelled body of Peter Chamber lay face down in the sound, the incoming tied was getting nearer and nearer to covering his face. Chambers felt salt in his mouth he was alive, he opened his eyes he was on a beach, the boat was next to him, on its side, he was behind the hull. Peter looked up at the sky, then he heard it chomping sounds and hissing, Peter silently got to his knees and looked over the hull. There was a muscular lizard about 6 feet tall, tearing to pieces something, Peter looked further over, it was Mark. Peter ducked back down behind the hull, had the creature seen him?, he wasn’t sure. Peter finding strengtth through fear looked ahead of him, a flare gun. The one he had been staring at in the lifeboat day after day. Peter reached over for it, when he got it he check if there was a flare in it, there was. The hissing changed pitch, he looked above him the Raptor was over him, arms spread wide, with deadly claws ready to strike. Peter had no time to hesiate, he looked up took aim and fired low. The flare hit the Raptor straight in the face, it jumped back it seemed to be in shock. The hissing didn’t stop, but seemed to get lower and lower. Peter stood up, looked over the hull, the Raptor had gone. Peter brushed himself down and headed into the dense jungle ahead of him, now he needed food, but where the hell was he.
