Death Has No Regret, Special Edition
    By Icebreaker

    Opening Comments:
Having been a long time visitor of this site I finally registered the name “Icebreaker” in late May; partially due to my excitement of the ever nearing release of JP3…However it was mostly because of the Fan-Fiction section on this particular site!

Over the course of a few months, I developed a unique storyline with unique characters. It was unlike any other story this site had ever seen and finally after two months of hard work I posted the first chapter of “DEATH HAS NO REGRET”…It was a huge failure. I believe it only received a few comments, yet I was still determined to make my story a success. I eventually posted two more chapters and each one of them received less responses then the other…

I was very disappointed and decided to scrap the entire story and work on a spin-off story called “ONCE IN A BLUE MOON” (which eventually became a sequel). However, when I posted news about this on the message boards, I found that people were upset, they actually enjoyed the story but didn’t post comments because the story was broken down into chapters…Which was somewhat of an inconvenience! I was amazed and decided to continue to work on the story, however, this time I would do something completely different and I have stuck to this form of writing ever since then!

The idea was to post the story in its complete version without breaking it down and releasing it in different parts. Now I know Rancor was probably the first person to release a large story in ONE piece, but I feel that I was one of the first to release a Fan-Fiction in this form. I publicized the story with Trailers (EvilGrinch started that) and also posted other sorts of information regarding the story…

When I finally posted the story itself entitled “DEATH HAS NO REGRET, Complete Version” it opened to rave reviews and it now stands as one of the highest grossing Fan-Fics on this site (second only to Vader’s JP3 Novel) with more then 30 comments (including the original comments from when I first posted the story) and it is all because of you!

Many of you have said that my stories are good enough to be novels, and some of you have even said that I am the best author on this site (which I respectfully disagree with you about; I consider the likes of Vader, Jurassiclaw and EvilGrinch to be far better then myself). However, it really is because of those kind words, that my stories have been so successful. You continue to motivate me and that is why I have decided to release this SPECIAL EDITION version of this story. The goal of this re-release is to show you all of the hard work that I put into each of my Fan-Fics and to also give you behind the scenes looks at how it is done.

As you read this story, you will notice AUTHORS COMMENTS (AC), which will be inserted into the text in RED. At the end of this story there will be additional features, including rejected storylines, deleted scenes trailers and more! So sit back, relax and enjoy:

    CHAPTER 1…

“Ah hell, the bloody engine has conked out again," Jake Gravision turned back to face the bow of the boat, "It seems like it always wants to give us a hard time when we are 40 miles from nowhere".

"Oh, don’t be so damn negative; it is not very bad. In fact, if it is going to be out for a while we could always go below deck and um... well see if we can get "our" motors turning," Stephanie Rachel Gravision laughed a shy giggle that never failed to amuse her husband of only 2 years. Stephanie was tall, nearly 6 feet, and was very athletic. She had a dark almost Mediterranean complexion that absolutely drove men crazy and on top of that, she had the most piercing green eyes anyone could imagine. "Besides, its getting dark and I'm sure you don’t feel like getting all dirty and sweaty working on that, but even if you did I'd rather have you getting dirty and sweaty on top of me..."

Jake laughed and wondered if she would still be as sexual as she was now when they reached their 20th Anniversary. Somehow, he believed that she would. He got up from his knelt position and looked back at her. Stephanie stood there, her long hair, which had natural thick curls, was being blown back due to the gentle sea breeze. This exposed her long sensual neck.

Jake did not have to think twice. Besides, he could always work on the damned engine at dawn. If he worked hard, he might even have them back at port by noon the following day. With a sigh he got up and followed his eagerly awaiting wife below deck...

Nearly two full hours later, Jake lay naked, propped up on a pillow next to his wife. He was staring down into her beautiful eyes and reliving the last two hours all over in his mind. Everything was still vivid in his mind. Her gentle moans, that sometimes turned into unearthly gasps of pleasure, her enthusiasm and...

(AC) Now let me just point something out to you all…I have been both criticized and praised for my sexual approach, when writing these stories. However, I think it is especially important to develop close relationships with characters throughout a story. In this case I felt since they were a married couple, they should have plenty of sexual encounters. This was more important then ever, because I was trying to show the audience that they were REALLY in love. That way the tragic events at the end of the story really show and are backed by a true relationship.

The Jurassic Park series has never really presented a true love plot in there movies and that is why I decided to add the love plot to my book, I felt that it would immediately feel like something fresh and new…

Suddenly a terrible crashing sound came from what was the stern of the boat. Then the boats soft, rythming movement from side to side came to a stop.

"What the...?" Jake looked down at his wife again, "What was that?"

"I have no idea! I suppose one of us should get up and have a look," to be honest she didn't look to concerned.

"Well, I guess I will take that duty my dear," then almost as an after thought he said, "you stay here, it won't take me more then a minute."

With that, Jake got up, not bothering to put any clothes on, and walked up deck. Stephanie lay there staring at where he had been only a moment before. Damn he was handsome, those dark brown eyes and that silky black hair...

"SHIT!" came Jakes voice from up top.

Gravision came running down from the top deck and slid on his pants and threw on his shirt.

    "What?"

"We struck land, ah; I knew I should have at least dropped an anchor! Hold on let me go have another look and see how bad the damage is," Jake turned back and headed toward the stern of the boat once again.

Jake reached the stern of the boat again as the sun was starting to set. It was dusk. Boy, luckily there was not much damage. However, it would take time to fix. Should he start now? No, it would take to much time. He turned and dropped the anchor to make sure that the damaged boat would not turn back and float out to sea. The boat had hit land in only knee deep crystal clear water. That is when he first realized the island he had been beached on.

The sand from the beach went up nearly fifty feet before it was met by lush green jungle. It was incredibly beautiful especially with the sun setting. Perhaps he should get his wife. In fact, they could have dinner on the beach. That would surely be romantic. As if on queue his wife came up from the lower deck, dressed in the dress she had been wearing earlier.

"Oh, my it's so..." she looked up from the damage and then saw the beach "BEAUTIFUL!"

Warning alarms went off in Jakes mind at that very moment. Something was not right. He knew he had been sailing next to the island earlier but didn't give it any thought. Hadn't there been a big fuss in the news about this island? If so was it something bad that had happened?

No...He was just imagining that, or mixing new stories or something. He was sure it would come to him later. However, little did he know that what was in the news around a year ago, had been terrible, and it was indeed "coming to him".

"Well, why don't we make the best of this and have dinner on the beach?"

"That would be lovely," Stephanie remarked.

(AC) Once again I wanted to add a romantic feel to the story. I also wanted to give the island that sense of beauty that it had in JP…so I added this small picnic scene. I think it really shows how beautiful the island is and how well it hides its dirty secrets.

Fifty minutes later, they were resting on the beach after a surprisingly satisfying dinner. Jake looked at his wife and smiled. Perhaps, they could do it again right here... A series of chirping sounds came at that very moment from the trees up at the start of the jungle. This startled both Jake and Stephanie.

    "What was that?" Stephanie inquired.

"I don't know...birds most likely," He turned his attention back towards his wife.

Suddenly there was a large rustle sound followed by many more. The bushes and trees branches separated and moved along a 20-yard section of the jungle. However, the rustling did not happen all at once. It seemed to move from the southern end of the jungle all the way straight up to the point where him and his wife lay.

"It almost seems like a herd of animals just moved through there," Jake said nervously "But that’s ridiculous it's probably just th-"

Warning lights went off again in his mind. What the Hell? Wait a minute he thought...That news story he was thinking about earlier was all coming back to him. A theme park had been built on one of these islands out here...In fact it was a dinosaur theme park. Hadn't a few people been killed?

Well that was not of any concern, even if people had died, he was sure it was something to do with the rides or some such. It was not as if the automated dinosaurs had attacked the visitors. Or...

    "Oh shit.." he said aloud.

    "What?"

    "Stay still."

Yes, now it was coming back to him. That damned psycho Hammond. Wasn't he in the cloning business or something? In fact, now he remembered Hammond saying something on television about bringing prehistoric animals back to life using DNA. That would me-.

"Honey, stay real calm and do exactly what I say. Okay?"

    "But.." Stephanie started to protest.

"No, just do as I say and please stay calm."

The rustling in the bushes became louder and louder until something finally burst through the foliage and landed 15 feet from Jake and his wife. Jake yelled and his wife stumbled back all the way into the water.

There before them was something from the past... It was over six feet in height and had reptile like skin. It also had rows of teeth that looked a sharp as razors. In fact, it almost had the movement of a bird with its bobbing of the head.

Jake was both fascinated and terrified in the same moment. The back of his mind took over for a spilt second. This animal in front of him was a Velociraptor; how he knew that was a mystery, but right now, he didn't give a damn.

Then out of nowhere two more Raptors jumped from the foliage. This time, however, they land slightly closer to Jake.

Now terror completely overtook whatever fascination he had had a moment earlier. Without a second thought he turned with his wife and ran like hell through the water towards his boat...

(AC) Now, these stories are based on the novels, not the movies. I was really trying to be creative with this scene where Jake thinks about the things he heard in the news. I really thought that it gave this portion of the story an eerie feel. The action starts quick in this story, unlike all the rest of my stories and I tried to keep that action fast paced, yet very steady throughout the story!

    **************************************************
    CHAPTER 2…

Jake ran, or stumbled; through the knee deep water along side his wife. They were heading toward the boat and were nearly 20 yards from it. For a moment, after Jake had turned and headed toward the boat the Velociraptors took off in hot pursuit. Apparently, though, the splashing of the water caused by Jake and his wife, distracted, confused, and frightened the Raptors all at once. They stopped and looked on with interest.

Then at that very moment, two more Raptors joined the three that stood patiently watching the two humans running. The two that joined the original three had come from both sides. They had been cautiously preparing to make an attack from the side on the two humans, but their plans had been disturbed when the two humans had turned and fled.

Now, of course these thoughts were not as clear as they sound in the Velociraptors mind. These creatures are extremely intelligent but not nearly as intelligent as that. However, these thoughts had formed in there minds in less complicated ways. Somehow, though they realized that the humans were out of range but this did not discourage them. Strangely enough, they knew that the two humans would not be able to escape so easily. They would have to be patient once again and wait...

(AC) I quickly wanted to develop the intelligence of these raptors, yet I didn’t want them to be as smart as they were in JP3. So I made them intelligent in the ways of hunting…I think that gave them a more realistic and deadly feel!

Jake and Stephanie reached their boat completely out of breath but didn't stop there. They hopped on board and ran below deck, locking any doors that lead down to their hiding place.

Both of them were in shock. Stephanie, however, seemed more dazed by the encounter then her husband. She sat shaking for a moment. Neither of them spoke. The just stared into each other’s eyes. Finally, Jake broke the silence...

"I've got to begin work on the stern of the boat immediately. God... I can't believe what I just saw, I mean I was just standing there and," Jake got up and started pacing the small room they were in, "I... I mean it was..."

    Stephanie suddenly became calmer.

"Honey, you can't go back out there! They could be waiting for you."

She had a point. Perhaps he was thinking irrationally. He could wait until morning.

"I suppose your right darling. I'll just wait until morning. Certainly, those...things, won't be still out there," He turned toward a small circular window on the side of the room. It was dark already, "Ya, I'll wait until morning. Or maybe..."

Jake got up and headed to a corner of the room. A small radio set lay on the table. Perhaps he could call the coast guard or something. He picked up the set and tried to send a signal. He soon found out that the damn thing wasn't working. All he heard on the opposite end of the transmitter was static.

"Damn! See I told you...This stupid boat is always giving me problems. If we-I mean-When we get back I'm selling this crappy thing," his wife simply nodded, "Well, I suppose we should try and get some sleep. Even if things go well tomorrow we are going to be busy. You want to take turns sleeping or do you think it is safe enough to just sleep together?"

"I think that we are safe enough in here, but just in case, maybe we should take turns."

"Alright sweetie, I get first 'watch'."

They kissed each other briefly and then his wife found her way to the bed. In only a few minutes, she was sound asleep. Jake sat quietly, thinking...

As soon as they got back home, he would report this to the proper authorities. He had too...But then again, people may think he was a little "Off" if he told this story to them. Perhaps, he should just shut his mouth. Oh well, that was a while from now. Jake decided they were safe enough in this room aboard the vessel so he started to relax his body and tried to fall asleep. In fact, just as he had said to his wife only minutes ago, tomorrow was going to be a busy day. He would need his strength, but that was only if things went as planned...

Somehow, he did not think things would...

At the very moment Jake fell asleep a velociraptor was kneeling in an awkward position on the beach. It would probably have been a funny sight to see. In fact this is how a Raptor "sat" when it was preparing to sleep, right now however this Raptor had its eyes set on that "tree" floating in the water that the humans ran to.

A sound escaped the creature’s mouth that sounded like a cross between a snarl and a purr. The hunt had begun...

(AC) Once again I thought this gave the raptors a very eerie feel…The raptor is the head of its pack and by far the most intelligent! It is literately calculating Rick’s every move…This is the raptor that follows them throughout the entire story, I wanted to give him a very unearthly quality, so that you don’t know what to expect from him! Let us continue…

The soft glow of daybreak crept in through the port side window. Jake Gravision was lying in a very uncomfortable chair propped against the wall, snoring. Across the room, his wife laid on a large bed with its sheets tossed on the floor. The evening before had been very stressful for the both of them.

Jake's snoring stopped as he opened one eye. Where was he? However, as quickly as that thought came into his mind the answer presented itself. The past night also became very clear to him. In fact, he found himself shaking slightly when thinking of how close to death he had come. With a sigh, he stretched his arms high above his head and slowly brought them down. He yawned.

At almost that same moment, a slight rustling sound came from the bed. His wife, Stephanie, was beginning to move around. After a few moments, she sat up and grinned.

"Good Morning," she said with a yawn, "When I woke up I thought last night was only a dream," she laughed "then I realized it was in reality a nightmare."

"Ya..." Jake got up and looked out one of the small windows along the wall. The way the window was positioned, however, he could not see the beach that their boat had come to rest on. "I'm sure those...well.. Um, the Raptors are gone," he felt bloody stupid saying that.

    His wife just nodded.

"Well, I am going to go out and begin work on the boat. You just stay put."

Jake turned and started up toward the upper deck. Strangely, the boat made a slight jerking movement and he heard a thump. He soon forgot all about it. He needed to find some sort of weapon that he could use to defend himself against those creatures outside if they decided to come back. He scanned the room and saw the drawer he kept a flare gun in.

Gravision walked over and picked the gun out along with three flares. He loaded one of the flares into the chamber and put the other two in his pocket. Now he opened the door that lead to the upper deck and took a cautious look out. Everything seemed fine.

He walked up and headed for the stern of the boat. Boy, it was a mess but he was sure he would be able to fix it and have it sea worthy by noon. The boat made a slight jerking motion again followed by two thumps. What the...?

Jake looked up on the top roof part of the boat and what he saw terrified him. Two Velociraptors stood looking down on him. Without a second thought, Jake brought the flare gun up from his side and fired a shot at the Raptor on the left. The bright flare hit him directly on the "forehead" and knocked it backward. Unable to see after being blinded by such a bright flash it fell completely over the edge and crashed into the water.

The other Raptor was far too intelligent for Jake though. It immediately jumped down to block off the door that lead to the bottom deck. Luckily for Jake's wife the door was shut and locked but he could still hear his wife screaming below deck. Jake loaded another flare into the chamber and was prepared to fire when he felt a searing pain on his shoulder. He turned just in time to see another Raptor taking another slash at him. He ducked and fired a shot up toward the attacker mouth.

The shot hit the Raptor directly in the mouth and that sent it scurrying back out into the water headed toward the shore. Jake had little time to recover. Soon the Raptor he had originally knocked off the boat came jumping onto the deck in front of the other who was still "guarding" the door. Rick brought his gun up once more but it was knocked out of his hand by the Raptors tail before he could fire a shot.

Now he was the one at a disadvantage. He stuck his hand out and searched the deck for any sort of weapon. His hand found fishing net with a long handle. He grasped it and brought it up with lightning speed just in time to deflect a slashing attack from this incredibly strong predator. This knocked the Raptor off balance and as he fell one of his claws slit open a gasoline canister that lay on the deck. Gas poured out all over the deck.

Jake once again had the advantage. All this time though the second Raptor stood and watched silently from the doorway. Jake jumped up and swung at the Raptor that had just fallen to the deck. The blow connected and knocked the Raptor unconscious. It simply went limp.

Now Jake had one more. It continued to stand by the door bobbing its head. It was about to attack when the door from behind slammed open and hit it in the back. Stephanie was trying to get out! It looked back and this Jake his final chance. He rushed it and slammed his whole body into it. This knocked him and the creature to the deck.

"Get off the boat!" he yelled to his wife.

She did as she was told and dove off the side of the boat into the water. Now it was just Jake and the Raptor. The Raptor slashed at him but Jake blocked the blow with the handle of his fishing net. He pushed upward and knocked the Raptor to the below deck. Jake then reached out and found the flare gun that had fallen out of his hand during the struggle.

He grabbed it up and turned to jump of the boat. He hit the water roughly and the cold water sent shivers down his spine and awakened him. He turned in the shallow water and faced the boat. The Raptor was getting up and head toward the water. Without thinking Jake fired a flare at the Raptor but missed terribly.

    "SHIT!"

The flare hit the panel on the cockpit of the ship and bounced to the deck. Jake was getting ready to swim out to deeper water when the boat caught fire. The flare had ignited the spilled fuel! In less then a second Jake's boat went up completely in flames. He could hear the Raptor squealing but it was soon silenced as the boat exploded in a brilliant flash of light and sound.

    All was silent...

Jake stood and for a moment and regained his breath. He also checked his wounds and his wife. She was fine but he did have a gash in his left shoulder. It was not to bad. Silently Jake and Stephanie embraced and then head up toward the shore.

Minutes later they laid silently next to one another...

Little did they know that along the bushes on the island a lone Raptor stood watching intently. This particular Raptor had also watched the boat the previous night. Somehow, it knew that if it were to attack now it might not be able to kill its prey. So instead of attacking it turned and ran deeper into the jungle...

Jake was so thankful to be alive he did not even think of how he was going to get off the island. However, that was no concern now. Right now, he was just happy to be alive with his wife huddled in his arms. He looked down and kissed her forehead gently...

(AC) This chapter ends with a sense of hopelessness, I mean I wanted to the reader to be happy that our heroes yet still feel sorry for them, because they have taken care of the raptors (for now) yet they don’t have a boat anymore. I wanted to make sure that I destroyed the boat, to rule out any thought of them escaping on it…In a sense I wanted this to be one of the climaxes, you know that they can’t go back now, only forward!

    **************************************************
    CHAPTER 3…

Jake and Stephanie sat on the beach and were trying to collect their thoughts. Now it was time to start thinking about how they were going to get off this bloody island. There only form of transportation had been destroyed. Both of them, however, were just thankful to be alive. Stephanie lay down and stared up at the blue sky while Jake started to think of how they could get off the island.

He sat and searched the depths of his memory to scratch up even the smallest details he had seen on the news regarding this island. According to what he had seen and heard, there should be a control center somewhere on the island where he could make a call for help. The only problem was that this was a large island and he had no way of knowing exactly where it was.

"Stephanie, dear, we've got to venture into the jungle and find this islands control center," he looked directly into his wife’s beautiful green eyes, "It's going to be dangerous but that’s the only way we are going to get off this island."

"All right..." she swallowed hard. This was going to be difficult, very difficult.

Jake looked into her eyes once again and admired her courage. She was a strong women no wonder he had fallen in love with her.

"Listen sweetie, if you don’t want to go in there that’s fine with me. I mean I could-" he couldn't even finish the sentence.

"No, there’s no way I'm letting you go in there alone."

Jake smiled and bent down and kissed her on the cheek then slowly moved up to her ear and nibbled on it. Then in one fluent motion, he lay down and wrapped his leg around her. Now he was straddling her. His kisses became more intimate as he moved down towards her lips. Slowly he moved his hand up-

"This isn't the time," Stephanie said then started to laugh, "Or the place."

"HaHa," Jake laughed, "I suppose your right! Well I guess we should get moving..."

They both got up and began their journey into the jungle.

A few hours later, they came to a stop and rested. They had walked the entire time and there was still no sign of the control center. Both of them were hungry so Stephanie found some plants that were non-toxic and they "snacked" on those. Of course, it tasted horrible but at least it would keep their stomachs satisfied for a while. After another hour or so, of course they had no real way of telling how long it had been, they got up and continued there journey. Little did they know that something was following them...

A pack of Velociraptrs silently followed the two humans. The leader had been watching these two ever since they arrived on the island. Remarkably, the predator seemed to enjoy the chase. In fact, the chase seemed to be becoming a game. Therefore, the pack would continue to follow until they were presented with an opportunity to strike...

(AC) Ok I wanted to make the animal the superior now, because he could literately kill them anytime he wants but instead he is patiently following. I wanted the creature to stalk Rick and Stephanie…You know that he is definitely in the control! Its actually very tense in some scenes (or at least I tried to make it tense)…

After another 4 hours of walking, Stephanie and Jake came to a stop. They had been walking for nearly seven hours and they still had not found the Control Center, and even worse, it was becoming dark. They had to find higher ground. Luckily, there was a very thick and tall tree nearby. They climbed high enough to be out of harms way and found a very thick branch that had a slight indention. It was perfect for the both of them to sleep on. In fact, it even gave them enough room to move around quite a bit...

"Honey," Stephanie said, "It's been a long and stressful day."

    "Sure has..."

"Why don't we release some of that tension right now."

    ”You don't mean..."

"Ya, why not..." she laughed playfully "It sure would be a first!"

    "Yes, but it might-"

Stephanie wouldn't hear anymore protests she reached up and grabbed his neck. She was the aggressor this time. Her lips met his and immediately they began exploring each other’s mouths. Jake stopped complaining and immediately found her belt buckle and undid it. He slid her pants down making sure not to take them completely off. The tree branch was hard...

Even while he was working on her clothing, she was working on his. Now his hands found there way up her top and began to stroke and caress her breasts... These acts took them a while to get used to. They were 30 feet in the air and on a branch so it was not that easy. Jake was sure of one thing though, if there had been any predators nearby, they would have surely fled by now after hearing the strange moaning and grunting sounds they were both making.

Jake was now becoming rougher. He gently thrust her against the tree bark, as he became pure animal. He was sure, no matter how hard the tree was it could not be any harder then he was at that moment. Both of them became one in an intimacy they had not experienced in some time…

Far below in the foliage the pack of Raptors listened to the intense gasps, screams, and other odd sounds that came from the two humans in the trees. The Raptors were confused by the eerie sounds. Were there prey-making sounds for fellow pack mates? The lead Raptor "sat" in an awkward position and waited...

(AC) Alright, this was my FIRST controversial sex scene…It took me a long time to develop and it was actually a lot longer! I edited it down because I felt some people would find it inappropriate. It has, however, been added back into this SE release and I apologize to those people that feel it is inappropriate! I just thought it was a very good addition to the story that made you really feel the relationship of the characters and you definitely feel there pain later on in the story

Dawn was beautiful; the orange glow of sunlight broke through the dense jungle foliage. Jake and Stephanie had already got up and continued their journey in search of the control center.

"You think we will find it today?" Stephanie asked her husband.

"We'll have to, I can't go on much longer..." Something in the foliage moved. "Shh..."

Jake crouched down and signaled his wife to do the same. Something was following them...Jake knew he was going to encounter something on his way to the Control Center but he was hoping it would be harmless. The movement and rustling did not become any louder but it was certainly moving closer. Stephanie also laid still but was frantically searching for the source of the sound with her eyes. Wait! There in the foliage she saw to yellow eyes staring at her.

She slowly reached over and tapped her husband’s shoulder. He looked and saw the eyes. Jake stopped. He wondered if he stayed, still would the animal simple move on. Jake stayed crouched and stared right back at the animal. Finally, after a few minutes the animal disappeared. Jake was not sure what it was but he knew he should not stick around. That is when the attack happened...

Just as Jake and Stephanie were getting up two Velociraptors attacked from the side. Jake ducked just in time to get out of the way but his wife wasn't so lucky. One of the creatures landed directly on top of her as the other leapt and prepared to land on her also. She screamed with terror.

As the first Raptor, that was all ready on her, began to make a slashing motion, the second slammed into it. This knocked them both back for a moment and Stephanie kicked her leg out catching the second Raptors "shin" as she rolled away. The Raptor did not express any sort of pain. It merely turned and snarled at the screaming women. Meanwhile Jake had picked up a large rock and came running toward the first Raptor. He jumped and was about to slam the rock into the back of the animal’s head.

However, the Raptor merely sidestepped the attack and swung its tail. It made contact with Jake, hitting him squarely in the chest. He fell to the ground in agony, as he was completely breathless. The Raptor jumped and was about to land on top of Jake but he barely rolled out of the way in time. There was a crashing sound as the Raptor hit the dirt...

Stephanie was also fighting off her attacker but was becoming increasingly fatigued. The animal was too quick for her. She backed up and bumped into a tree. The Raptor took advantage of her slight distraction and leapt at her. She had absolutely no time to react. One of the animal’s claws pierced her skin and slashed down across her arm and hip. She screamed in pain and fell to the dirt.

Jake heard this happen and immediately ran toward his wife. He did not run far however, the Raptor that had originally attacked him jumped onto his back. Jake could feel a strange burning sensation as the animal’s claws cut through him. If he did not do something now he was dead. In one fluent motion he shifted his weight to the right, this threw the animal off balance. Then in a split second he turned back to the left throwing the Velociraptor completely off him. He jumped up, ignoring the pain that shot through his body like bolts of lightning. He ran and kicked the stumbling Raptor squarely in the face. The raptor fell to the ground. Jake made one final desperate attempt and grabbed another rock. He slammed it down onto the creature’s skull as it tried to get up. Gravision heard the smashing of bone and also heard the cry from the Raptor but did not feel any remorse. He simply watched the animal struggle for life and then go limp. Now he had to help his wife...

Stephanie knew she was near death she could feel the blackness engulfing her but tried her best to put it off for as long as possible. The Raptor continued to attack and she could feel some of the slashes connect. The Raptor made one final slashing motion across her stomach... Strangely, the pain that Stephanie knew would come did not, instead she heard a deafening bang and saw the Raptors chest explode as it flew back off the top of her. What in the hell was that?

Jake was almost on top of the Raptor now but Suddenly the Raptor flew off of his wife as though it had been yanked by a cord. Jake looked to his right and saw a man slowly lowering a high-powered rifle of some kind. Who in the world was he? Moreover, where in the hell was he from? Jake did not know there were any people on this island anymore. Jake did not stop to ponder any longer. He ran to his wife and checked her wounds. They were bad. Blood cover almost every part of her body. But she seemed to still be alive for the moment.

"Stephanie! Stephanie, God damn it do you hear me," Jake was frantic.

Stephanie could hear him but could not move or respond.

"We'll have to give her medical attention quickly," the man slung the gun over he shoulder and walked toward Jake,” Here, lets pick her up and get the hell out of here."

    "Who are you?"

Suddenly a deafening roar came from very near by...

"What was-" Jake was given no time to finish his sentence.

"Never mind just pick her up and run like hell."

Jake did as he was told and as he ran he heard thunderous footsteps behind him...

(AC) This was another action scene that I wanted to keep fast pace and dizzying, so that you feel like you are in the midst of the action. All of my action scenes in stories are very detailed and fast paced. I really think that helps make them realistic and you fear for the lives of the characters involved…You will see later on that the only time my action is written slow, is when I want it to be very intense

    **************************************************
    CHAPTER 4…

Jake’s lungs were burning and his heart was pounding, the pounding of his heart, however, was nowhere near the sound of the pounding of footsteps behind him. Crashing booms erupted from the ground as he ran carrying his wife; ahead of him was the mysterious man that had saved their lives. Now he could see a break in the jungle directly ahead! He was almost there…Seconds later he burst out of the jungle into a huge field with grass 5 feet high; the sounds of footsteps were getting closer behind him. Gravision knew he should not look back, but he did. He turned his head slightly and saw that herds of some strange animals were stampeding directly behind him.

The animals behind him were tall, though not too tall. They had orange and green “skin”. Their heads had large semi-circle hooks on top of them and they stood upright. All of the animals in the herd ran closely to one another and it would be a matter of time until they caught up with Jake and possibly ran over the top of him. Up ahead the man that had saved his life dived into a ditch. Jake was right behind him and jumped. He landed in the ditch hard and his unconscious wife fell out of his arms directly in front of him.

Jake laid on top of her as the animals ran over the top of the ditch and continued on their way through the field. There was only a moment’s silence before Jake heard the splintering of wood and the thunderous roar of a large animal. Jake peaked back up over the ditch edge, toward the jungle. What he saw amazed him. A fully-grown Tyrannosaurus Rex had just burst through the jungle and was in hot pursuit of the animals.

It ran with lightning speed, for its size and was heading for the ditch. Jake, ducked his head back down…

“Holy, shit!” he shouted. That damned thing was heading towards him. Seconds later the T-Rex crashed over the ditch 20 feet away and headed off through the tall grass.

A minute later, it was gone over a small hill, still in pursuit of the animals. All was silent …the mysterious man spoke first.

“Well, your bloody lucky to be alive you know that?”

    “Who are you?” Jake asked.
“The names Patrick mate. I work here on this island, I maintain the dinosaurs. Yesterday during mid-day when I was doing my routine check-up along the beach I found your wrecked boat…” he smiled “What in the hell happened to it? When I got to it, it was a flaming mess.”

“Um, ya…bad manufacturer…” Jake grinned back.

“Anyway,” Patrick continued, “ I knew if you were still alive you had gone into the jungle. I searched for you for a while but it got dark. So I came back this morning in search for you and well you know the rest don’t you?”

“Yes, listen thanks for helping us out. I’m sure both my wife and I would have been killed had it not been for you.”

“No problem mate…” Patrick stood up “Um, we ought to get your wife some medical attention. Come on, my jeep is over here.”

Pat helped Jake pick up his wife, who was still unconscious, and they both began walking towards Pat’s jeep that was parked along the edge of the jungle. The jeep had very little markings but one caught Jakes eye, it said “Jurassic Park, SITE B Security”. Site B? Jake thought. Hm… that was something he could question Patrick about later…

“As you have probably already guessed, we have a doctor on this island that specializes in your wife’s sort of injuries. I can get you to the Main Compound in less then 10 minutes and she could be receiving medical attention in 15,” they had now reached the jeep and Jake gently laid his wife down along the back seat of the car and then walked around to the other side and got in the front seat.

(AC) Here we get our first look at what island we are on. In the beginning of the story Jake thinks he is on the original island Isla Nublar…but now the readers understand that he is really on Sorna. I want to make sure that everybody knows that this story takes place before TLW and that means that the work on the island is still continuing…

Just as Patrick had said, they reached a rather large compound, probably the size of a few football fields, in less then 10 minutes. Along the top part of the building was a sign that said “InGen, SITE B”. They pulled to a stop just outside the main doors and were met by a few men who had a stretcher. They moved to the back doors of the car and opened them. Then, they cautiously removed Jake’s wife, Stephanie, from the back seat, placed her on the stretcher and entered the building.

“Don’t worry there taking her to the Doc. right now. Hopefully she will be alright,” Patrick had a concerned look on his face; “Listen those were some deadly wounds she had…I mean…” he stopped.

“Ya, I know…” Jake felt a great deal of sorrow.

“Do you need medical attention? You look a little beat up as well.”

“No, I can wait, I want all the available doctors to be working on my wife…”

“Of course…Well um, why don’t I take you inside and we could get you something to eat.”

“Thanks,” Jake turned and followed the man up a series of steps toward the main entrance.

Where was he? What was SITE B? All of these thoughts rushed through his mind at once. He was afraid to ask any questions just yet. Perhaps he could figure them out as he was shown around the facility. Minutes later after walking though many halls and work areas, where scientist were working, Jake was shown a seat in a dining room. He was served a small but satisfying meal and he ate in silence. Patrick sat on the other side of the table and watched him eat.

“So, mate how did you end up on this island?”

Jake swallowed a piece of his food, “Well I was just on a day trip with my wife out at sea and while I was below deck we struck land. I rushed up to see what had happened…” he shoved a piece of food in his mouth and then swallowed “Later on we were attacked by those um, raptors…”

“Ah, Velociraptors. Cunning predators, they ended up following you through the jungle did they?”

“Um, yes and that’s when you found us.”

“Lucky I did, you know you’re still alive when they begin to eat you my friend...”

Jake got a nauseating feeling in his stomach and pushed his food away from him. The thought of still being alive while an animal was eating you terrified him. What a way to go…Well at least he had not gone out that way. Boy, he was tired. Jake yawned…

“You look tired, why don’t we take you to a room where you can get some rest?”

“Sounds great,” Jake got up, pushed his chair aside, and then followed Patrick out of the room.

On their way to Jake’s room, they stopped by a window. Where scientist were working in a small room whose walls were covered with gadgets and computers. In the center of the room, two scientists seemed to be fussing over a small dinosaur. The dinosaur looked as though it had just been born.

“This is where we raise the animals,” Patrick was looking through the window and watching the scientists at work, “Then when the get old enough we ship them to-“ he stopped abruptly.

    “Where?” Jake questioned.

“Um, nowhere. Never mind, lets get to your room.”

Now Jake was suspicious, something was not right about this place. As they walked down a corridor, he looked into one of the many rooms. On the wall was a computer-generated map that showed a shipping line between two islands. One being Isla Nublar and the other being Isla Sorna. Wait, this was not Isla Nublar after all. It was a completely different island then the one that was in the news! Therefore, the psycho Hammond had another island! Jake did not say a word, he just continued on until he got to his room.

(AC) I wanted to make this small slip up that Patrick’s makes, outstanding. Because it seems like a small mistake but the reader begins to understand what is going on. Shipping has commenced between Nublar and Sorna once again. This eventually becomes the main plot point in “A SHADOW OF DOUBT” and I really wanted to introduce it in this story

“Alright, I’ll talk to you later mate. If you need assistance or anything just pick up the phone and we will send someone down,” he turned and started to walk away, “Oh, ya don’t go wondering off.”

    “Sure thing,” Jake said.

With that, Patrick left. Jake was now in the room by himself, he was tired. However, he wanted to go have a look around this place and see what it really was…Well, he needed sleep for now. Maybe after he rested he could look around later. Jake laid down on the uncomfortable bed and minutes later he was asleep…

Hours later Jake woke up. His back was aching and his left shoulder burn liked hell, in fact, he almost passed out as soon as he woke up because of the pain. Instead of getting up completely he sat up and relaxed his body. After a few minutes of silence, he slid out of the bed and made his way to the door. Jake cracked it open and took a quick look outside to make sure no one was there. He then slid outside of the room and quietly shut the door behind him.

Instead of heading into the direction he had originally come from, he went deeper into the building. It was less likely he would run into someone. Silently he crept down corridors and hallways until he came to a room full of computers. Nobody was inside the room so he accessed it.

The room was not large but it housed nearly 20 computers. Jake randomly chose one console and booted it up. After half a minute, the main screen popped up…it said in bold letters “WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK”. Along the side of the monitor small icons flashed. This is what they read…

    1) JURASSIC PARK / Isla Nublar
    2) COASTA RICA / Possibility of a Lost World
    3) SITE B / Isla Sorna
    4) ALTERNATE JURASSIC PARK / San Diego

Jake clicked on the icon marked Jurassic Park. A file full of information on the park was immediately brought up; he read it for 10 minutes. According to this, there was an incident last year and the island had been bombed. All the dinosaurs had been destroyed. There was also information about a mathematician name Ian Malcolm who had been severely injured and was thought to be dead. However, he was still alive. The information went on and on but nothing interested Jake.

Gravision went back to the main screen and clicked on SITE B. This time the information was more valuable. According to this computer, Site B was where the dinosaurs were actually grown. They were set loose on the island and rounded up when they matured. Then they were sent to Isla Nublar. Apparently, two months after Isla Nublar was bombed the shipping of dinosaurs to the island resumed.

Wow, this is amazing…Jake thought. When he got off this island he would definitely have to tell he authorities about the illegal activates that are happening on the island. Still searching through the SITE B page Jake found a link marked “List of Dinos”. He clicked on it then came up a list of the animals on the island.

    *Apatosaurs
    *Pachvcphalosaurs
    *Carnotaurus
    *Stegosaurus
    *Maiasarus
    *Velociraptor
    *Tyrannosaurus Rex
    *Triceratops
    *Parasaurolophus
    *Procompsognathus

    EXPERIMENTS:
    *Petranodon-located in aviary
*Spinosaurus-if all goes well baby Spino will be available in 5 years

Jake stared in amazement. Then he exited and looked under ALTERNATE JURASSIC PARK. Apparently, Mr. Hammond had begun construction on another amusement park in San Diego but scratched it. 20 minutes later Jake shut down the computer and headed back toward his room…

(AC) Now this portion of the story that you have just read should be taken with a grain of salt, because this is MY definition as to what happened and how the pteranodons and spinosaurs appeared on the island. I thought it was an interesting explanation. I also had fun with adding the reference to the park in San Diego and I hope you enjoyed reading about it as well…now we move into the really dramatic portion of the story…

    **************************************************
    CHAPTER 5…

Jake was awakened by the knocking on his door. He sat up abruptly and watched as Patrick came in.

“Um, I’ve got some bad news for you…” his facial expression was dreary. Jake’s heart stopped, “It doesn’t look like your wife is going to make it…”

Jake broke down. Tears ran down his cheeks as he pressed is face into his hands. Why? He thought…why did things have to happen like this. Jake looked up at Patrick who stood patiently at the doorway.

    “Can I see her?”

“Well, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt.”

    “Thanks…”

Jake got up, followed Patrick out of the room, and headed towards the medical section of the building. Jake was not sure he could make it he felt nauseas and blackness was forming around his eyes. He knew this would be the last time he saw his wife. Minutes later Jake was standing outside a room that housed his dying wife. Patrick stepped back and Jake opened the door.

Inside the room, his wife laid on a medical table with a white sheet covering most of her body. All around her were medical devices and tubes that were connected to her. Jake stepped up close to her and spoke.

    “Honey…Can you hear me?”

Stephanie smiled weakly “Ya, barely…I’m dying Jake. I can feel it.”

“No your not,” Jake tried to seem upbeat, “In a few days you’ll be fine and we will be out of here.”

“Don’t kid yourself…Jake have you ever regretted something?”

“Yes…I regret ever landing on this island,” now he was in tears.

“Well I don’t Jake and neither does death.”

    “What do you mean?”

    “Death has no regret Jake…”

    ”But…”

“No,” she brought one of her hands up to her face and placed one finger over her lips, “Shh… Just hold my hand.”

She put her hand out and Jake grasped it. It felt cold and weak. Jake knew it was only a matter of time until she passed on. Strangely he knew it was not the end, he knew he would see her again. However, it would be some time before that happened. Stephanie looked up into Jake’s eyes and smiled. Jake just stared at her…

Stephanie knew she was dying but wasn’t afraid of it, she wondered what her husband would do after she passed on. Suddenly she felt blackness enclosing around her, this was the end.

“Jake,” she barely choked it out, “I love-“

Blackness took over completely and then there was a brilliant flash of light. Jake was left there by himself next his wife. At that moment, he felt loneliness engulf him. He kissed his wife’s forehead and cried…

(AC) This was a very hard section for me to write, because throughout my rough draft of the story it was always JAKE who died and Stephanie became the heroin . However, when I came to the final draft I changed it and it was very hard because I loved the character of Stephanie and I felt that she had the chance to be a very interesting character. This was also risky because I felt people would get turned off (if they weren’t already turned off by the sex scenes) because no females have died in a Jurassic Park film or novel…So I thought this would add a huge twist to the story but also give it a dramatic and sensitive feel.

My goal was for the reader to feel saddened yet determined; just as Jake feels. Hopefully I succeeded in doing that! Now let us continue…

Fifteen minutes later Jake stepped out of the room and found Patrick waiting for him. Patrick knew Jake’s wife had died and did not dare speak first. Jake walked up with his head lowered. He stopped a few feet away from Pat and looked up.

“Get me off this damned island right now!”

Patrick just stared at him, “I’m afraid I can’t do that.”

    “Why?”

“Well, you’re to much of a liability. This island needs to be kept a secret and hidden from the public. If you were to be released, then you would most likely speak about this place…we cannot afford that, that is why we will be sending you to Costa Rica on charges of trespassing. We have some pull in the government, so you will not be allowed to-“ he couldn’t finish the sentence.

Jake lunged at him and landed a punch across his face, Patrick stumbled back and reached down to the gun on his hip but before he could reach it, Jake connected with another punch. This time it was to the stomach, area and it caused Patrick to double over. Before he could get rebalanced, Jake kneed him in the face, knocking him unconscious

Without stopping to think of what he had done, or what he was going to do Jake bent down and removed the gun that was on Patrick’s hip. Jake was not very familiar with guns but he recognized this as a Browning Hi-powered auto. He checked the clip and saw that it was full. He shoved it down in his waist ban and then kneeled down. He quickly searched Patrick’s pockets and found the keys to the jeep they had used to get to the building. Then he got up and head out of the building.

Surprisingly it only took him ten minutes to find his way out of the building and what was even more surprising he did not encounter anyone who questioned his being in the building. Jake exited the building, ran down some stone steps, and saw the Jeep. It was still parked in the same place, so he went to the door and hopped inside.

Without wasting time, he put the keys in the ignition and turned. The engine roared to life and he slammed it into gear and pressed the gas. The Jeep took off down a dirt road leading away from the compound. Behind him, he could hear a few guards yelling and firing shots. One of the shots broke his left side mirror, but seconds later he was out of range…

Jake looked down at the computer monitor that was on the dashboard. On it was a map that showed where everything was on the island. According to this, if he continued down this road he would be at a dock in a short amount of time. He steadily increased the gas intake and was near 90 miles per hour. For a moment, he thought of his wife and that caused his pain him great pain. However, as quickly as he thought of it he pushed it into the back of his mind, it was not doing him any good to feel sorry for himself.

Up ahead of Jake on the road was a herd of Apatosaurs they were walking slowly in search of food. He stared in wonder as the moved gracefully across the road. These animals were truly beautiful…

Jake looked down at the computer. It seemed as though the dock would be just around the bend up ahead. Jake smiled and looked back up through the windshield. To his terror, he saw a Stegosaurus directly in his way. Without thinking twice, he slammed on his brakes and swerved to the right. Nevertheless, it was too late… Jake clipped the Stegos spiked tail and was sent caroming off the road and into dense foliage. He could feel the Jeep hit a tree and suddenly it went airborne and flipped down a hill. It rolled and rolled; when it finally came to a stop, it was at the base of a hill only 300 yards from the dock.

Jake was losing consciousness fast, but he did realize that he was close to getting off this bloody island. In fact, he knew how far it was to the dock, but there was nothing he could do, he had hit his head hard on the steering wheel. Blackness overtook him…

(AC) Now this is my favorite style of writing, fast paced HUMAN drama. I switched gears drastically for this finale because I wanted to make this more of a human struggle, you can see that Jake makes an irrational decision when he punches Patrick, but you also see that there is no turning back. I must admit that this was my favorite section of the story to write and my heart was pounding thunderously as I did so!

We now enter the last section of the book, the Finale…and I think this is one of the best chapters I have ever written…so let us continue once more

    **************************************************
    FINALE…

Patrick moved with silence through the jungle, he carried a Remington BDL high-powered rifle. He was searching for Jake and according to the tire marks on the road; he had flipped the Jeep he had stolen. That meant it would be at the base of the hill somewhere, hopefully he would have no problem catching Jake. His head hurt like hell from the kick Jake delivered earlier. He knew he had to get him back to the compound and make sure he did not escape again.

Suddenly he heard the snapping of a branch behind him and spun with lightning speed. He brought the rifle up and searched the darkening jungle. Nothing was there. Perhaps it had been one of those Compys. Oh well…he continued on his way. Minutes later he spotted the Jeep upside down at the base of the hill. Patrick cautiously kneeled down and raised the rifle. He knew Jake was armed and wanted to make sure he did not place himself in harms way…

Suddenly he heard a crackling of branches directly in front of him. He stood up and walked in the direction of the sound…

(AC) I just wanted to point out that this change of perspective is very rare in my stories. I normally like to focus on ONE character, so that you feel his (or her) hardships. In this case though I thought switching to Patrick’s point of view would be interesting and beneficial

Jake squatted in the bushes directly behind the Jeep and saw Patrick heading toward him. He moved back some more but accidentally stepped on some branches causing them to make a loud sound. He knew now that Patrick was onto him. Therefore, without wasting time he jumped to the side and began to run. Behind him, he heard Patrick fire a shot and then pursue. Jake knew he must not allow Pat to get a good shot at him. So, he spun and fired off two rounds in the direction where Patrick was coming from.

The shots missed. He could see Pat now, raising his rifle. Jake ducked and rolled just in time. A bullet whizzed by his head and crashed into the trunk of a tree. Jake wasted no time. He fired another shot in Patrick’s direction and made a break for it. He did not get far. A thunderous sound cracked through the air and a bullet struck his shoulder. Jake fell to the ground and dropped his gun as he gripped his shoulder trying to stop the bleeding.

Patrick was now a few yards away.

“Well mate, this is the end of the road,” he smiled wickedly, “I got orders to bring you back but…you pissed me off.”

He raised his gun and was about to squeeze the trigger when something burst out of the foliage and tackled him. He screamed and tried to shot the animal but he was too late. The Velociraptor used its middle claw to slice the man’s stomach open. Then it began feeding on his intestines…

Jake jumped up and grabbed his gun. He knew he had to get out of there. Feeling sick from the unearthly screams made by Patrick as the as the Raptor snacked on him, he ran as fast as he could. Moments later he came to a clearing. Ahead of him was the dock. Without stopping he continued forward until he reached, what looked like a small fishing boat. Jake jumped inside of it and fired a shot at the rope that held it to the dock. The rope shattered and Jake started the engines on the boat. The Raptor that had killed Patrick was now heading his way. Jake slammed on the power and the boat took off just in time as the Raptor jumped, but missed the boat and crashed into the water.

(AC) If you have not noticed this already I supposed I will have to tell you. I always have a shoot out in my stories, I suppose it is like a trademark for me…but this goes back to the point I was trying to make above. I think it is good human drama and for once it is human vs. human not human vs. animal, which gets old in my opinion. However I did want to add the section with the raptor killing Patrick because I think it was a surprise…I wanted the reader to think that Jake had a trick up his sleeve and was going to be able to get out of it, but that wasn’t the case. He was completely helpless and in the end he was saved by the exact same animal that was hunting him throughout the story!

Minutes later he was in the open sea, after checking to make sure the fuel tank was full he sat down on the stern of the boat looking back at the island. It was beautiful from a distance, but Jake had experienced how deadly it really was first hand…

Suddenly an overwhelming sadness came over him, he thought of his wife. The regret and sadness was terrible, how he was going to continue on was a mystery to him. In the back of his mind, he remembered one of the last things she said to him…

    “Death has no regret Jake…”

She was right death truly had no regret for who it took or who’s life it ruined. It was always there breathing down your neck, waiting for the right time to strike. Jake forced a smile; somehow, he knew his wife was still with him right now…

With that, he turned back and took the controls of the boat as the sun set behind him. Jake turned back only once to look at the island. It seemed to be casting an ominous shadow over him as the sun set on its opposite side. Yes, he thought, Death Has No Regret….

(AC) Now this is an interesting ending and it started another trademark of mine. I always end my stories with a very graceful ending and often times it mentions the story title in the last paragraph or so. I think it is fun and entertaining…now if you have read all my Fan-Fics you would have noticed that none of them have a typical happy conclusion. It does not necessarily mean that the ending is sad all the time; it is just that it is never over joyous…because in my opinion this story is still ongoing. Despite the ending it continues on in my mind and others minds as well!

Thus ends the STORY and AUTHOR COMMENTARY and we now move on to further special features…

    Rejected Storylines:
    1) The original storyline was about a married couple that gets lost in the Costa Rican Jungle, they soon find a Lost World. However, the creatures that they find were actually from InGen and somehow escaped a research facility that was located in the area. The animals are velociraptors and they now inhabit the jungles…(Storyline was later adapted into another form and released as “ONCE IN A BLUE MOON”

    2) My very first idea was to write a story about the “Origins” of Jurassic Park, but I decided that I would save it until later. I actually forgot about that idea until I came up with the (JP:TE) series. When I wrote the first book in the series I actually used this idea…with slight changes.

The first character names were Jake and Stephanie but that was later changed when I actually wrote the story (Due to Obvious Reasons) HeHe.

    3) The final story line that I had was the same as the final draft except that in this version Jake was the one who died. You see after he died it was up to Stephanie to escape, but things go wrong and she is caught and sent to Costa Rica to face charges. I thought this plot over for a long time and I just did not like the way things fit together so I eventually changed the storyline to the one you have just read!

    Author Interview…Conducted by Seth Rex:
(SR) When did you write this classic?
Icebreaker: Well, as I said above I wrote this story over the course of a few months, it went through many changes until it came to be the version that you see on this page.

(SR) Have you ever considered it a cult classic?
Icebreaker: HaHa, to be honest…no. That had never occurred to me at anytime, though I would consider it a classic in the sense that it started my Fan-Fiction career and was very well received by the fans. It is great to hear people refer to this story when they are judging other peoples Fan-Fics…

(SR) What went through your mind while writing this?
Icebreaker: Well, I knew that I wanted to make something different yet familiar and since I wasn’t known at the time I had to make sure it was a very detailed and entertaining story, because that was the only way people would read it…I also thought about how I was going to promote it! That was my main concern while writing it, I wanted to make sure people were hyped about it before it was released!

(SR) Did you ever stop and wonder what people would think?
Icebreaker: Many times! I was terrified that I would turn off many readers because of the sex scenes. I believe I was the first person to add something like this into one of my stories

(SR) At the time of the release were you nervous about peoples reactions?
Icebreaker: Yes, to say I wasn’t would be a lie…I was definetly afraid of how people would receive it, for the exact reasons that I stated above!

(SR) How did you feel when people said they liked it?
Icebreaker: Oh my, I was so excited. I swear I was biting my fingernails and checking the comments section every ten minutes and when I started getting those good reviews, I was so happy. It was great!

(SR) How did the trilogy come to be?
Icebreaker: Well after I finished the first version of DHNR and it failed, I began work on another story (which I was considering a spin-off at the time) called “ONCE IN A BLUE MOON” but once I released the Complete Version of DHNR I knew I wanted to turn OIABM into a sequel. I finally got the idea of a trilogy when I finished OIABM. I wanted to make one last story to bring closure to everything!

(SR) Were both sequels as welcome as the first?
Icebreaker: Actually no…I really tried to make it clear that the 2 sequels were very different and really weren’t sequels at all. They were different stories about the same man, Jake, but people still looked at them as sequels and really tried to compare them to DHNR. Which didn’t work out well…

(SR) Do you plan on doing any other Rising Tyrant stories?
Icebreaker: No the Rising Tyrant is the name of this particular trilogy, I named it that because I felt that the tyrant was Hammond and InGen and it was rising back from “the dead”. I have been thinking of writing a few more stories about Jake and Rick, which would be completely different then what you have read thus far. I would really take it in a new direction…

(SR) Last but not least, any plans for the future of this sort of writing?
Icebreaker: Actually yes, I am planning to release both a “Once in a Blue Moon” and “A Shadow of Doubt” Special Editions in the upcoming months! So I hope all of you look forward to it, they will be just as detailed as this Special Edition! I really love this trilogy and going back to them and fixing them up is fun…

Excellent, man! All the components of a great story thrust into one fast-paced story that left me wanting "Once in a Blue Moon." This is fan fiction at its best!

    Vzx says:
Wow, it was great. I am assuming it was in the continuity of the books and not the movies. It also gave a good theory over the spinosaurus and pteranodons. You said you were doing a sequel, I cannot wait. Great story!

    GL-Sama says:
Awesome story man. =D I think I already told you that I think you are an awesome writer, and your prose is excellent. I really liked how you dug into the character's consciousness, as well as putting in the little tidbits about the pteros and the spino. Hmm, I wonder if it is any kind of foreshadowing for "Once in a Blue Moon". See ya on the message board.

    Jurassiclaw says:
I am not even going to criticize ... wow. I mean, you have combined JP with a little of the "human Drama" of Rancor's Re-Written theropod and the superb action of Rob's Story. The result is fantastic. However, .... it is JP-related. You are mature, for one (cough*SGD*cough) I do not mind the sex part, because it is taken from a different point of view.

The writing is excellent, and if I had to rate, I would say it is the Third best story in this sites history, behind Theropod and SWHH.
