    Night Flight: The Novel
    By Dinonut

    ----------Night Flight: The novel------

    ---------Chapter 1: Prelude to Chaos---

Deep within the cosmos of outer space a dagger slices through the vast emptiness. A spaceship glides effortlessly towards it’s victim, the planet Montuso, like a shark catching a scent of blood. On board this ship exists the most feared creature in all of the slums and crevices of existence. The anger this creature has for the human race is uncontrollable and demented. He was created by humans as a tool, an item made for destruction. And destruction was his specialty. Fueled by his rage, the creature had created an empire of all walks of life. But ironically, the most abundant creature serving his army were humans. Those who felt they didn’t belong enlisted with him, fighting for his cause. He freed inmates in return for their involvement in the military. And so he spread his evil to the farthest corners of the galaxies, placing horror, despair, and misery for those who crossed it. And the scariest thing was, nobody knew who he was.
The Good people of the universe formed an alliance and called themselves the Union Of Powers in 3064 A.D. All the countries formed one mega-country and peace treaties were formed all throughout outer space. Every species of alien and man worked together to defeat the new threat of evil....but how could they destroy what they didn’t know?

Ember Proxies sat at his desk on the 342nd floor of the Union Of Powers central base, located on the planet Montuso. Ember was a technician who had recently applied for the job of head technical adviser to General Nogs. This job was well wanted by many people. After all, General Nogs was one of the most respected Generals in U.O.P. And Ember had more then enough credentials to get the job. He had quit his job as a self promoted Technical advisor giving up a large salary for the hope of receiving the great job.
But Ember had not received the job. In fact, he was only offered a minimal salary as a repairman on the 342nd floor. Once you applied for a job at U.O.P., there was no way to take a new job for 5 years. And so went the dreams of Ember Proxies, out the window of the 342nd floor, and smashing onto the ground.
It was four o’clock and Ember had 2 more hours of work. Time ticked away slower then a three toed sloth climbing this building. And nothing was helping. Every time he looked up at the clock on the wall, 30 seconds had passed. Only 30 seconds....what seemed like 5 hours was only 30 seconds.
Ember shuffled through all the papers on his desk. Nobody was around up on his floor...everybody had gone home. Ember stood up, looked around, and sat back down.
“Awww! If I have to do this for five more years, im seriously gonna kill some...” started Ember but a elevator opening on the other side of the room stopped him.
Out of the doors stepped a man of about 30, wearing a tight, long-sleve black t-shirt underneath a green vest, the outfit of a general. It was Captain Nogs. His long spiky black hair seemed breathtaking to Ember. The blue bandana he wore around his head covered some of his hair, but he had two dreadlock like strands of hair that ran down the side of his face.
Behind the General walked out Mike Reynold, the new technical adviser. He also was in his thirties but wasn’t as built as Nogs was. In fact he was a tad overweight. Ember knew he couldn’t be as good as he could have been.
General Nogs walked by his desk. Ember sat up right away, hitting the desk and knocking papers to the floor. Ember didn’t know whether to stay standing or pick up the papers. Sweat ran down his neck and his throat dried.
General Nogs just nodded and walked by towards the other end of the floor. The it hit Ember....Nogs wife worked on this floor.
Depressed, Ember sat back in his seat.
“It really is a joke here, everyone but me gets off early...” thought Ember.

Mike Reynold looked at General Nogs talking to his wife. He decided to get up and leave now since the General seemed to be busy, after all he only had a half hour until work was over.
He strolled over towards the elevator and nodded at the man sitting at the desk who seemed to be bored stiff. Then he pushed the button and the elevator speed up to the top floor. He got in an pressed the button for the first floor. Two seconds later he was 342 floors later and on his was to the parking garage.
