--Home Sweet Home-- Part 5 By Carnotaur3
20 INT. HOUSE – DAY
The door flung open. Dan stepping in first looked around to see if anything was going to happen. Anything that was horrific and disturbing.
So far so good.
He walked in, the rest followed.
21 INT. HOUSE – DAY
The group entered the master bedroom, looking around the walls as they did. Gabby looked over Dan’s shoulder to see Nick on his little device. The thing was not off the charts anymore, more like at the beginning.
NICK Not much here.
Nick hands Greg the poltermeter.
NICK (cont’d) You check under the bed.
Greg went to do so.
Dan tapped Nick on the shoulder.
DAN What do you call that thing?
NICK There’s another name for it but we just call it the poltermeter.
DAN Oh.
Dan stood and did faces at Nick like he knew what he was talking about. Gabby found it hilarious. She knew by the end of the day, Dan was going to be making a fool of himself. Unless, she is being lied to by Candied Camera!
Robert was behind the group, trying to see if he was going to get one of his crazy visions. But for the first time, this vision was of reality.
VOICE (From far off) Har-dyyyyyy.
Robert looked behind him. NOTHING THERE.
But he was going to trust his instincts on this one.
He snapped his fingers at the other four. Dan and Nick flew out the door faster than a bullet.
NICK Rob, what is it?
ROBERT A voice. Coming from downstairs.
Nick grabbed the energy binoculars, a specially designed device that allows you to look at orbs. Orbs are energy from spirits, in the form of tiny spheres in the air.
He sat it up to his eyes.
Immediately thousands of orbs appeared at the sight he saw. Nothing could compare to what was happening.
He walked down the steps, his assistant following close behind, as well as the rest of the group.
CUT TO:
21 INT. BASEMENT – DAY
They found themselves down in the basement. The energy orbs were all around the place. They were coming from under the ping pong table.
NICK Do you know what this is, Dan? Greg?
BOTH What?
NICK It’s the gateway to hell!
22 INT. KITCHEN – DAY
The group is now talking on the table.
NICK What you have, Dan, are poltergeist.
Dan and Gabby look confuse.
GABBY Poltergeist?
NICK Consider them as bacteria. They go and invade the body’s cells, attacks them, then multiplies and repeats the process. These ghosts don’t just come from your house. Your house is a gateway to evil spirits. Spirits that will soon become a part of the house, if not already.
DAN So they attack.
NICK Any time now. That’s the second step to what they do. Your still on the first. It’ll happen soon, so we better get started on this.
DAN How do they attack?
NICK They get stronger from the house and from your own fears and life energy. In all cases of this event, it seems they always want the owners.
Dan’s eyes dart around.
DAN Son of a gun.
Gabby turns to Dan.
GABBY What?
DAN The owners of the house before us were found in the lake. Remember.
GABBY Yeah, but… DAN That explains some of this.
Gabby still didn’t believe.
NICK It’s possible that’s a part of that. Now, they’ll try to get you! So be aware. Today, since they know we know, your gonna have to stick up for yourselves.
DAN Don’t worry about us, we have it covered. Right honey?
Gabby rolled her eyes, now she was the one with the joke on her. THEY WERE ALL NUTS!
She jumped up from the table, not even acknowledging what Dan had said, and walked into the next room.
DAN (cont’d) Honey?
She walked off, still not answering.
NICK Don’t worry about her Mr. Henderson. Everything will be fine by the end of tonight.
24 INT. DEN - DAY
Dan and Gabby were asleep on the couch, the men hard at work, monitoring everything happening in the house.
Nick strolled his chair over to a keyboard. He typed in what he wanted and waited for a signal or a beep. The beep came.
NICK (To Greg and Robert)
Everything is normal again. Not like it was 10 minutes ago. GREG 10 minutes ago was a nightmare!
NICK That? That was nothing, Greg. A nightmare is when they attack you, not you attacking them.
GREG Well, how about they hurry up on that one.
The house shook a little. Greg shut his mouth and never said a word, only cutting back to his job, listening to the house’s other rooms.
Robert sat his head back on the lounge chair.
He definitely wasn’t going to get any sleep tonight.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
The sound came from the headphones of GREG.
GREG We have a form.
They both looked over at the television set. It was hooked up to a camera in the living room.
It showed the stairs. Something was coming down the stairs.
NICK Go get your Bible.
GREG It’s in the basement, though.
NICK GO GET IT!
Now, his yell woke up Dan and Gabby. They looked up in horror at the ghost going down the stairs. It eye’s red as blood.
Greg couldn’t stop staring at the sight of it.
NICK (cont’d) NOW! With that said, Greg had no time in complaining and went straight down to the basement.
25 INT. BASEMENT – DAY
Greg found his way to the basement. He saw his Bible on the ping pond table and ran straight to it, picking it up with his sweaty fingers.
26 INT. DEN – DAY
Nick monitored the energy levels. It was off the chart.
Then, in a flash, the poltergeist disappeared. Residue forming on the carpet of the stairs.
Then, Nick knew what was happening.
29 INT. BASEMEMT – DAY
A voice came from Greg’s walkie-talkie, and as he put his ear up to it, he knew something was wrong.
NICK (V.O.) Get out of the basement and get back here, NOW! It’s a trap.
Greg wasted no time. He flew up the steps, but unfortunately, he was too late!
The door shut itself so violently he fell backwards tumbling down the steps.
He came to a hurtful landing on the ground.
Starring up towards the door, he heard the banging of fists. They were growing louder.
He looked over towards the door to the storage room, across the room as a little cackle entered his ear.
The door opened violently, and as the ghost comes over, we can’t see what it looks like. Only Greg can.
GHOST’S P.O.V.
Greg screamed in pain. Not the pain from the fall, but the pain he knew would happen soon to him.
He was too scared to move. His muscles tensed up. And as the ghost came right in front of him. The group upstairs got the door open, and he immediately drove himself to freedom.
30 INT. UPSTAIRS – DAY
Greg had his hands on his knees. He was bent over breathing hard, and the only thing he could think of was what he saw.
Nick opened the door again and took away the Bible from Greg’s hands.
GREG What are you doing?
Nick entered the staircase to the basement. In moments a wind picked up blowing everything in the room around the air.
Immediately, Nick started to quote from the Word.
NICK The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
The ghost came forward, it presence being made known quite clearly. He came forward with it’s red eyes.
NICK (cont’d) He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
The ghost started to back off. Then, it was being forced. Everyone knew it was God, helping them out. NICK (cont’d) Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalms 23: 1 – 4
All the poltergiest in the house were pushed back, under the ping pong table. Surely this is where the gateway is.
As they all vanished. Nick made one more request.
NICK (cont’d) Lord, be with this family.
Immediately, the ghost disappeared, and silence came over the house and the whole group.
31 EXT. OUTSIDE OF HOUSE – NIGHT
Dan, Gabby, Nick, Greg, and Robert exited out the door of the, once thought to be haunted, house.
Dan shook Nick and Greg’s hand.
DAN Thank you, sir.
NICK Dan, if it starts to happen again let us know. You can’t never be too sure.
DAN Understood! Take care.
NICK You too, Mr. Henderson.
They drove off in their truck, leaving behind the three.
Dan started off towards the door, but Robert stood in front of him, blocking him off.
DAN What the hell are you doing?
Robert had to tell him. ROBERT I don’t think it’s over.
DAN What are you talking about, man. You’ve done what you’re supposed to do. What else do you want?
ROBERT Your safety, Dan. Just you and your wife’s safety.
DAN Already done.
ROBERT I don’t think so. It was too easy.
DAN I’m going to give you to the count of five, to get your ass out of my house.
ROBERT If you only listen to me…
DAN One…
ROBERT Just try to…
DAN Two…
Robert bumped into his shoulder moving towards his car and then, looked back at his face.
ROBERT I tried to help. I mean I literally tried.
Then, in a beat, he was gone into his vehicle. Cruising down the street. Leaving Dan and Gabby alone. Back at their house.
32 INT. HOUSE – NIGHT
Dan walked into the house. Feeling no COLD at all. It was like his house was something new again. Something he hadn’t experienced in a long time.
Gabby entered also, her mind full of questions.
DAN Now, that that’s out of the way, I’m getting some sleep.
Gabby stomped her foot down on the hardwood floor. Dan, turning around, had a very surprising look on his face.
GABBY IT ISN’T REAL!
DAN No, not this again. Don’t tell me something’s not real when we both saw it in front of our eyes. GABBY I am not going to say this again. Honey, your seeing things. We’re both seeing things. It’s what they want us to see.
Dan shakes his head. He’s so confused now.
DAN What! The hell with this! That’s bullshit! You know it’s real!
Gabby grabs his collar.
GABBY Tell me what sounds like bullshit? Ghosts or imagination?
Dan looks at her weird. It’s such an unfair question, yet he leaned towards the last word.
He left the room with his thoughts and sat down on the couch. Looking up and managed to say something to break the silence.
DAN Just tell me one thing.
She walked to the couch and looked down to him with her loving eyes.
DAN (cont’d) Promise me you’ll help me to get through this.
GABBY Oh, honey.
She comforted Dan. As she did so, we
CUT TO:
WEEK LATER
33 EXT. DRIVEWAY – RAINY
A vehicle stopped at the wet driveway where the rain had fallen. The rain pounded on the windows of the car. Then, the door opened. Dan stood out in the rain as hell looked at the house. He smiled with a relief. It had been a week and nothing had happened.
He helped Gabby out of the car and they raced toward the front door of their house.
The rain dripped down his chin as he unlocked the door with his keys.
