JP3's pteranodons are not real dinosuars -- they are actully considered large flying reptiles that lived during the Mesozoic. As a matter of fact, to this date no "flying dinosaurs", or "aquatic dinosaurs" for that matter, have been discovered. (From: Otakon)

    I C E T E R I A - Ch. 3
    By CarnaRaptor

    (The next day)

Johnathon Julius took a smoke of his cigarette and looked upon the specimen. Thing was, though, he had never smoken before in his life. But this discovery, that he almost surely knew was, excited him to the point of smoking

"Hand me the magnifying glass" Johnathon said to his temporary lab assistant. Donna would be there in a little while, hopefully with Proffessor Sherwitz. He had hoped they'd come soon, because he was starting to have an inferiortiy complex with this uneducated person who doesn't realize what such of a creature this could be.

The man grunted, "Here you go. By the way, it looks nothing more than a pig who overdosed on Rogaine to me"

"I think you'd be referring to yourself there" smirked Johnathon cockily. He knew the man wouldn't touch him, and they ignored each other for the time being.

Mr. Julius stood over the lab table down at the specimen. The lad was right though, he thought, this thing was a bit bushy and had some distinct similarities with a pig. What was this thing?

A few moments later Donna came in.

"So Johnathon, what have you found out so far" questioned Donna, wearing a snowcap and tight leather jeans. Johnathon didn't remember her rear being that nice. He quickly shook off those thoughts.

    "Where's Professor Sherwitz?"

"Well, I tried to get him to come with me, but he refused. Apparently he was busy. Don't worry, he'll be here later, or so he told me" replied Donna. The lab assistant had left at her arrival

"Good, I want him to see this. Do you have any assumptions about what this could be Donna?" He motioned his hands towards the specimen.

Donna examined it closely herself, spying every edge of its body. She made some measurements also.

"Well, it's around 30 inches in height, and a little longer in length. Fuzzy skin covering. Only guess I have is maybe a wildboar or something"

"A wildboar Donna? Out here in this continent? Very doubtful."

"Well it looks somewhat like a cross between a pig and a...Well it looks just like a pig"

"But it isnt" said a frustrated Johnathon.

A couple minutes later, Ronald Sherwitz entered through the lab-room doors.

"Ah, professor, I really do think you will find this discovery fascinating" said a delighted Julius, hoping that maybe Sherwitz would know what this was.

"Discovery?" asked Sherwitz rolling his eyes. You gotta love the kid, he said to himself, he doesn't give up.

Johnathon showed him to the lab table with the specimen layed out on it. It's stench was quite evident. Ronald Sherwitz studied the body.

"Well, all I can say is that it's a real treat seeing something like this. Although I see nothing that would conclude me to say that this is a discovery"

"What? Look at the mouth, shaped like a pigs but rows of tiny sharp teeth are in them. I find that odd"

"Some rare species do have such teeth. Really Johnathon, what do you throughly believe this is if you refuse to believe me"

    Donna invited herself, "Or me"

    "Want to hear it honestly?"

Ronald didn't answer, he just crossed his arms, and looked at Johnathon. He was waiting for an answer.

    "Well from what I've researched and studied upon. I - I - I believe its a Peccary"

Ronald Sherwitz burst out laughing, "A peccary? Son, those things have been perished for thousands of years. You really do have it all wrong. Plus, all they've ever known about peccaries are their bone structure. You can't base its outer looks upon theories"

"Well sir, with due respect. It's quite possible that this sort of thing still exists. I mean, there are things out there we havent seen it yet and we've inhabited only so much of this planet" Donna said.

"List-" Ronalds reply was cut-off by the now offensive Johnathon.

"No sir, you listen. I've already met and talked with some locals in Scandanavia. They told me of people who stumbled upon an area of land many miles off shore who returned in shambles or never returned at all. I believe all of this, don't ask me why but I do. With proper precautions we can take an expedition there and discover the many hidden wonders as such as this peccary"

"Johnathon, listen to yourself. And who is 'we'"

Johnathon Julius looked at Donna, "Well Donna and I would like it if you and your wife would come along. We've also gotten some Scandanivian villagers who volunteered. Albeit some bribery was involved."

"Absolutely not, Goodnight children. For goodness sakes" bellowed Sherwitz, who made his way to the door.

"Mr. Sherwitz, could you imagine what would become of us if we were to find a living specimen of such like this? You can't honestly say you wouldn't want to be the one to discover a new creature"

    Ronald paused and turned around.

"And what if this little expedition comes up short Mr. Julius" said Sherwitz and an eeary voice.

    "What do you mean sir?"

"Well, you said some people never returned from this land"

    "Yes so?"

"So? Doesn't that give a clue my young student?"

"Surely they had been killed by an ocean current or something to that extent. But the forecast shows it to be pretty clear in the upcoming days"

"And what if mother nature wasn't the cause of their deaths?"

"Are you trying to tell me that there may be hostile beings or creatures somewhere out there?"

"You catch on quick Johnathon, when do you plan on leaving again?"

"Tomorrow, most likely later the next day"

Ronald Sherwitz stared at Johnathon for a moment. This child is clueless, he thought to himself. Kids live too wrecklessly these days. He then looked at Donna, same thoughts for her too. They weren't ready to do something like this...well at least not alone. They needed guidance and a lot of it.

"Well Johnathon and Donna, good luck on your little icecamping trip. By the way, you know you'll be getting a zero on the test coming up. This absense is unexcusable" He chuckled and walked out the door.
