Slayer - Episode 4x19 - Memory

***NOTICE: When reading later in the story you'll come across Joey/River. What this means is Joey's voice from River's body. Same with any character that has the name/name effect.***
THE ELITE HEADQUARTERS
RICK and SAMANTHA stood outside PARA’S DORM. PARA had locked herself in there for the past three days.
Samantha: Para, come on you have to eat something.
Para: I’m not hungry.
Sam: Para, please.
Para: Just go away.
Rick: Para – you left him to be focused. Ever since you left him you’ve been anything but that.
PARA opened the door.
Para: Well I’m glad he wasn’t cheating on you!
Rick: He wasn’t cheating, Para. He didn’t know.
Para: Oh – so he’ll take the first thing of me that he can find?
Rick: I would’ve done the same if I was in his place and Samantha left me. There’s no mistaking your love for individual.
Para: What if I had a twin sister? Oh my god!
Rick: Para, if you keep this up, I’ll have every right to send you away.
PARA slammed the door.
Sam: Well that went over well.
Rick: We tried. That’s all that matters.
JESTER ran to RICK and SAM.
Jester: General Arnold! Four of our troops are dead!
Rick: How?
Jester: A demon calling himself The Host. I tried to do a little research before I told you but the only information we have is that he can transform into any living, breathing thing.
Sam: That must’ve been the thing that was with Ben.
Rick: Yeah, I didn’t keep you up to speed Sam, sorry.
Sam: That’s okay. [To Jester] Was Dac seen anywhere near this?
Jester: No, ma’am.
Rick: He wouldn’t. Dac is waiting for the right moment. He figures that we don’t know The Host works for him, so he’ll send him.
Jester: But we do know.
Rick: That will be his surprise.
OUTSKIRTS of TOWN
FOUR BODIES in MILITARY FATIGUES lay on the ground – motionless. The HOST teleports in.
Host: Okay guys, the coast is clear.
THE FOUR BODIES rise and transform. DAC and THREE of HIS TROOPS are seen.
Dac: This is too good, Host. Probably the best plan you’ve thought up.
Host: Surprisingly…you thought this up.
Dac: Oh that’s right.
DAC’S CELL PHONE rang. HE answered.
Dac: Hello?
MAYOR BOB KLINE’S OFFICE
BOB sat on his chair on the phone.
Bob: Congratulations, Dac! Phase one is done and over with, and phase two is underway. We have two weeks before The Host can perform his ritual – prepare him, for he is phase five.
Dac: Yes sir.
The TWO of them ended the conversation.
Dac: It’s a go. Host – prepare your ritual.
Host: You do realize all humans will die.
DAC picked up a SYRINGE. He INJECTED A LIME GREEN SUBSTANCE INTO HIS ARM.
Dac: That’s okay…this is the essence of a Vampire. Strength and speed, and I can go into the sunlight.
Host: Wow.
Dac: And all of the Vampire’s we’ve captured, they’ve been injected with it. Two times the strength and speed, and no sunlight can kill them. They are my UberVamps.
Host: Brilliant.
Dac: No Slayer or Elite Task Force can stop us now.
DAC looked at THE HOST. HIS EYES turned RED.
OPENING CREDITS
A Zoom in of Charger City at night. “SLAYER” appears in red text.
BEN ran past the DRUMLINE. He took one of the DRUMMER’S sticks and BROKE it across the DRUM. He started running towards the VAMPIRES and staking them left and right. [Starring Ben] BEN, BECKY, and ICE attack dozens of DEMONS.
BRAD throws an AXE in a GRAVEYARD, missing the VAMPIRE, but sending it the other direction.
PARA throws a blue glowing orb at a DEMON. She dances with BEN at a NIGHT CLUB. PARA and BECKY roll on the ground, PULLING each other’s hair. [Para girl] PARA looks at a map with RICK.
SHANE and MARTY swing BASEBALL BATS at a HUGE SCALY DEMON.
RIVER picks up a desk and throws it at the window. The DESK shatters the window. RIVER runs at a wall of lockers and flip kicks himself over a bully. [Jedi A. Malcolm] VAMPIRES surround RIVER, he spins around with a sword, decapitating them all as they turn to dust.
ROWS of TOMBSTONES start to shake. The ground starts to rumble. HANDS fly up from GRAVES. VAMPIRES pull themselves out. They all walk towards a CRYPT. They open the door and file in. A passage way allows them to gain access to an underworld.
TARA looks through her books of spells. TARA kisses MANDY on the lips. [JP3 Girl] TARA’S body splits in too DARK MAGIC and LIGHT MAGIC. TARA’S eyes started to change into different colors.
RICK, BRAD and FALCON GLICK walked through the graveyard. RICK carried an AXE, BRAD carried a CROSSBOW and FALCON carried a SWORD.
RICK spars in a ring with BEN. RICK pulls his crossbow out and fires. RICK thrusts his ARM out at an oncoming VAMPIRE. The VAMPIRE turns to dust as a WOODEN STAKE goes back into RICK’S sleeve. [Rick Arnold] Rick embraces SAMANTHA.
RYAN spars with BEN. [Dark Hunter as Ryan] RYAN’S CELL PHONE started to ring. RYAN pulled it off the waist of his belt. He threw the phone up in the air. He pulled a gun from inside his COAT. He OPENED FIRE on the falling CELL PHONE. The PHONE gave a small explosion. RYAN got in his CAR and sped off. RYAN throws a VAMPIRE into a BONFIRE.
THE HEAD of the DEMON rose up to FALCON. FALCON pulled his sword back and sliced the HEAD in HALF.
BRAD blows a dust which begins to GLISTEN in mid air. BRAD stands on a stage holding a microphone. BRAD and RICK looked at each other and sighed. [And Brad as Bradley Giles] BRAD and DAC engage in a sword fight.
BEN and RIVER walk the streets of CHARGER CITY with their BLACK coats flapping in the wind as if they were capes. PARA, RICK, and SAM fall in behind them FULLY ARMED. TARA and MANDY fall in behind them with SHANE, MARTY, JOEY and FALCON.
CHARGER CITY HIGH SCHOOL – THE NEXT DAY
RIVER and MARTY walked up the stairs and into the school.
River: …So then you jumped out of the way right here and landed right into Joey, knocking him down.
Marty: Why do we find hurting Joey so funny?
River: Because it’s Joey…well, you’d understand, if you were you.
[Special Guest Star Mandee as Mandy]
LIBRARY
RIVER and MARTY walked in. JOEY and SHANE stood looking through books. AUNT JENNY stood behind the counter.
Jenny: River. How can I help you?
River: I’m here to meet Joey and Shane, they are right there.
Jenny: Oh, well don’t be loud. And why do you kids find it necessary to hang out in this creepy library?
BEN walked in with MR. HUNT.
[Special Guest Star Dac as General Dac Armstrong]
[Special Guest Star The Host]
Ben: This is her, sir. She’s been here for two weeks now, and she’s doing phenomenal.
Hunt: So I’ve heard.
Ben: But I must return to my shop.
Hunt: Oh yes, that’s right. You reopened that Magic Box store here that was in Dansville, right?
Ben: That is correct, sir.
Hunt: Ben, you’ve graduated, you needn’t call me sir.
Ben: Sorry, force of habit.
BEN walked over to RIVER.
[Special Guest Star Emma Caulfield as Anya]
Ben: Go to the shop after school, all of you.
River: Okay.
BEN and MR. HUNT started to walk out.
Hunt: Don’t you guys have classes to get to?
Joey: It’s Gym. We’ll be fine – coach will let it slide.
Hunt: Okay. Just don’t get into any trouble.
BEN and MR. HUNT walked out.
[Guest Starring Labyrinth as Falcon]
Shane: Do you think he has any idea?
River: No, but the sooner we get it done, the better.
Shane: Well, I found it this morning – it requires four people, including the one we’re performing it for.
Joey: This isn’t going to hurt me or be time consuming is it?
RIVER pulled hard on JOEY’S ARM as the four of the boys walked to a bathroom at the school.
SHANE, RIVER, and JOEY formed a TRIANGLE around MARTY.
[Aragorn as Shane]
[JP Junkee as Marty]
[PunkNerd as Joey Russo]
[Mr. Goodbytes as Principal Layne Hunt]
Joey: You know, if someone walks in –
River: Your popularity will decrease, oh wait, what popularity?
Joey: Summers….don‘t start with me.
Shane: Would you two shut up and place your hands on each others and the other ones on mine.
THE BOYS combined hands locking in around MARTY.
Shane: A boy we once knew, a friend in which he grew. A trip to the past ended his life too fast. Upon return a memory loss turned him into a toss. Return to us his memory, of a life not so grim.
PURPLISH LIGHTS come from the BOYS HANDS circling around MARTY. SMOKE fills around him. ALL FOUR of the BOYS are KNOCKED BACKWARDS.
The BOYS SAT up.
JOEY’S VOICE came from RIVER’S MOUTH.

[Majestic1 as Majestic]
Joey/River: How did I end up over here?
JOEY/RIVER looked down and realized he wasn’t in his BODY.
Joey/River: Shane! You idiot! You switched all of us around somehow!
Shane/Marty: Who’s Marty?
Marty/Shane: I am.
Shane/Marty: Who is your father?
Marty/Shane: Big Steve – the car salesman.
River/Joey: Well he’s got his memory back – but now we have a bigger problem.
JOEY/RIVER leapt up and TACKLED MARTY and SHANE BOTH.

Joey/River: Where are you Shane?!
River/Joey: Would you just calm down? Look, we’ll have to explain what happened; Tara and Mandy can fix this.
Shane/Marty: Oh no! If they find out I was doing magic, they’ll be pissed.
River/Joey: It’s not your fault.
Joey/River: Yes it is.
MR. HUNT walked into the bathroom, seeing the four boys talking.
Mr. Hunt: Please tell me there is no drug usage.
Shane/Marty: None, sir.
Mr. Hunt: River, Joey – you two aren’t fighting are you?
River/Joey: No.
Mr. Hunt: Mr. Russo why are you so fast to answer?
Joey/River: He means, yes we were.
Mr. Hunt: Is that so?
River/Joey: I started it.
Joey/River: What?! No, I started it.
River/Joey: No, I’m quite sure it was me. Joey Russo – troublemaker at large.
Mr. Hunt: I’m very confused. You four have classes to get to, or its detention. Beat it.
THE MAGIC BOX
TARA and MANDY organized the shop by DUSTING and reorganizing products. RYAN sat at a TABLE researching.
Mandy: So you two talked?
Tara: Yeah. I didn’t mean to shut you out of the room; I just needed to talk to him alone.
Mandy: That’s okay. I understand.
Tara: Don’t take it that way, baby. I love you.
Mandy: I know you do.
TARA and MANDY walked over to RYAN and the TABLE. MANDY examined all of the books, which there were plenty to go around.
Mandy: Find anything?
Ryan: Not so much.
Mandy: Need any help?
Ryan: Not really.
Mandy: Um, well okay. I’ll be over at the counter. If you need me for anything, just holler.
Ryan: Will do.
TARA looked at RYAN.
Tara: Why are you being so avoidy?
Ryan: I’m not being avoidy.
Tara: You are so.
Ryan: How?
Tara: Mandy offered you help and you just blocked her out.
Ryan: I don’t really need it. Ben and Majestic are in the back training, you’re out here running the shop and so is Mandy. I’m help-free right now.
Tara: Okay. But if you need help, even turning a page, please let her now. She thinks you hate her.
Ryan: Okay.
BACKROOM
BEN HELD a VAMPIRE by the neck. MAJESTIC punched it many times.
Falcon: Enough! Enough!
BEN released FALCON.
Ben: You’re the one who volunteered to help us.
Falcon: I’m starting to regret it.
Majestic: I didn’t think I was going too hard on him.
Ben: You weren’t.
Falcon: What are you saying Slayer?
Ben: Oh nothing, pansy.
FALCON’S FACE morphed into VAMP MODE.
FALCON started to PUNCH BEN. BEN blocked every PUNCH and retaliated by connecting several punches of his own.
BEN backed off. FALCON’S FACE turned to HUMAN again.
RYAN walked into the BACKROOM.
Ryan: Customer to see the manager.
BEN walked towards the door, MAJESTIC followed behind BEN and RYAN. FALCON motioned his hand to follow but stayed.
Falcon: Hey – nice sparring…no. Hey, way to kick my ass! Definitely not. You know how we fought before and now we don’t? Oh bother! I can’t tell him.
FALCON sat down on the couch that was in the BACK.
BEN could see from the back a WOMAN with BLONDE HAIR arguing with MANDY over a book.
Ben: Where’s Tara?
Ryan: She went to go get food for us.
Ben: Right.
Woman: All I’m saying is that if it’s marked that price, that maybe that’s what it should be for me to pay for it. Screw taxes.
Mandy: I’m sorry there’s not much I can do.
BEN stepped forward.
Ben: Is there a problem here?
The WOMAN turned, it was ANYA.
Anya: Yes.
DOWNTOWN CHARGER CITY – THE MAYORS OFFICE
A large yellow SCHOOL BUS saying “CHARGER CITY UNIFIED SCHOOLS” pulls in front of the MAYORS OFFICE.
The STUDENTS unload off the bus, leaving MARTY, SHANE, JOEY and RIVER as the last four off.
Joey/River: I can’t believe we forgot about this stupid field trip!
Marty/Shane: Hey – it’s not my fault.
Joey/River: Actually it is, way to die, Marty.
Shane/Marty: Joey, would you calm down?
River/Shane: Yeah – besides, remember what happened the last time we had a field trip?
Joey/River: It’s City Hall. What kind of demons are we going to run into here?
MR. HUNT walked over.
Mr. Hunt: The four of you…shut up…now! The Mayor has been very busy lately and we’re much honored he could show us stuff here.
THE HOST, dressed in a suit, walked up behind MR. HUNT.
Host: Sir, The Mayor would like to welcome you all to City Hall. I’m one of his associates.
Mr. Hunt: Oh, well thank you.
Host: If you will follow me this way.
MR. HUNT and the students followed behind him.
River/Joey: You guys!! It’s that Host thingy.
Joey/River: Okay, so is there any place in this damn town where we won’t run into demons?
Shane/Marty: Probably not.
Marty/Shane: Coming back into the game from wherever – this Host guy, he’s a big bad, right?
Joey/River: Yes…why?
Marty/Shane: Ironic that he’s working at City Hall.
River/Joey: Are you saying he’s an insider?
Marty/Shane: Not an insider, but maybe an ally to someone on the board or something.
Shane/Marty: Wow. Marty is back.
Joey/River: How do you figure?
Shane/Marty: He’s referencing all those secret agent movie cliché’s and stuff.
Joey/River: Oh.
River/Joey: Okay, we’re going to have to split up. Marty, come with me. We’ll search through out some files and see what we can find.
Joey/River: Do you mean Shane, or do you mean Marty as in Marty’s voice in Shane’s body. Geeze! This is confusing the hell out of me.
RIVER/JOEY pulled MARTY/SHANE and the two walked away.
Joey/River: What am I supposed to do?
Shane/Marty: We’re the one’s with power. I have magic, you have River’s strength…go figure.
Joey/River: Yes! We can start a riot getting River into trouble.
Shane/Marty: I think that was his plan.
JOEY/RIVER and SHANE/MARTY started to walk off following THE HOST.
RIVER’S CELL PHONE RANG.
JOEY/RIVER picked it up and answered it.
Joey/River: Hello?
THE ELITE HEADQUARTERS
RICK ARNOLD sat at his desk on the phone.
Rick: River, how are you doing?
Joey/River: Oh, I haven’t been myself lately.
Rick: How so?
Joey/River: I could explain but you wouldn’t believe me.
Rick: Why does your voice sound different?
THE HOST walked over to JOEY/RIVER and pulled the CELL PHONE from his hand. In a FORM of intimidation he crushed the phone in his bare hand.
JOEY/RIVER looked angrily at him.
Joey/River: Hey! I was on the phone.
Host: The Mayor hates rude kids.
Joey/River: And I hate mythological beings that can’t be destroyed. Do you see me crying about it?
SHANE/MARTY was silently muttering an incantation.
MAYOR BOB KLINE and the rest of the STUDENTS looked back at THE HOST, SHANE/MARTY and JOEY/RIVER. THE HOST put his arm around JOEY/RIVER smiling, giving a thumb up.
THE STUDENTS continued into the building.
THE HOST went to move, but he was stuck to the ground.
Host: What the hell?
JOEY/RIVER started to PUNCH THE HOST.
THE ELITE HEADQUARTERS
RICK looked at his phone.
Rick: Sam, did you trace it?
Sam: The signal cut off at City Hall.
Rick: City Hall? Why would he be there?
Sam: Field trip probably.
RICK’S eyes got wide.
Rick: Grab your weapons and alert Para. They’re on another field trip and these don’t end well.
Sam: So I’ve heard.
RICK and SAM darted out of the office and grabbed weapons to leave.
INSIDE THE MAGIC BOX
Ben: Anya?
ANYA stood at the counter, insulting MANDY.
Anya: What?
Ben: What are you doing back?
Anya: This was the closest magic shop open.
Ben: And you don’t remember Mandy?
Anya: Sort of…
Ben: Anya, why are you really here?
ANYA sighed.
Anya: I’m here to warn you, but I still really need that book.
Ben: Warn me of what?
Anya: This Host guy.
Ben: You know about him?
Anya: Not very well.
Ben: What do you know?
Anya: In one week, he will begin a ritual to end the world. He’s been talking this up for sometime. That’s why his appearance here has thrown you off.
Ben: But what do we do to stop him?
Anya: Have you tried to fight him?
Ben: Several times.
Anya: Well a Slayer can’t stop him.
Ben: What can?
Anya: I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t. He’s a mythic legend. Something about a Ray of Light from The Light will terminate him.
Ben: That means nothing to me.
Anya: It will later, I’m sure.
Ben: The Light……………
INSIDE CITY HALL
RIVER/JOEY and MARTY/SHANE rummage through piles of papers. They saw a door that said “MAYOR’S OFFICE.” They snuck into the OFFICE.
River/Joey: Look for anything that could be used against this guy.
Marty/Shane: Of course! The Mayor!
River/Joey: What?
Marty/Shane: The Host is physically powerful, the Mayor is verbally powerful. Put them together.
River/Joey: It’s Bob Kline; he’s like one of my brother’s oldest friends.
RIVER/JOEY found a MILK CRATE full of old BOOKS. He pulled one and gazed through it.
River/Joey: Here. Grab these books, these are somewhat mystical and reference a ritual.
MARTY/SHANE and RIVER/JOEY started to load up the books. They could hear THE MAYOR’S VOICE – “And here is my office…”
MARTY/SHANE and RIVER/JOEY dove out the window, luckily for them it was on the ground level.
THE MAYOR opened the door and looked around, sniffing the air.
JOEY/RIVER, SHANE/MARTY continued to beat on THE HOST. MARTY/SHANE and JOEY/RIVER ran by and pulled them with them as they continued at top speed towards THE MAGIC BOX.
Joey/River: Why isn’t he following us?
Shane/Marty: My spell…it’s holding him.
THE MAGIC BOX
The FOUR of the BOYS ran in the door.
Anya: Listen, Ben, I have to go back.
Ben: Sunnydale?
Anya: Yes. Nice job on the shop, by the way.
Ben: Oh, that’s right. Rupert Giles, Brad’s cousin opened one.
Anya: Yes he did. It was destroyed of course.
Ben: Yeah, I figured as much.
ANYA walked out. She turned before she left.
Anya: Pray for them.
Ben: I will.
ANYA walked out of the MAGIC BOX.
BEN looked up to see RIVER, SHANE, MARTY and JOEY.
Ben: You guys are here early.
Mandy: Tara will be back, so when she gets back, we’ll work on that spell for Marty.
Marty/Shane: That one isn’t necessary.
The GANG looked at SHANE, but it was MARTY’S VOICE.
Ben: Why?
Marty/Shane: Because Shane cured me, but the thing is, we’re all in different bodies.
Ben: What?!
Mandy: Shane, we told you that you weren’t ready.
Shane/Marty: I know, I had to try though.
River/Joey: But here’s the good news – we rummaged through the Mayor’s office and found all of these books on The Host!
PARA opened the door to the MAGIC BOX.
Ben: Para?
PARA attempted to not acknowledge him.
Para: Ben.
She failed. Ben could see that on her face.
Para: Are the boys okay?
Ben: If being switched into each other’s bodies is okay, then yes.
Para: Rick called River’s phone and it cut off, they sensed it was a field trip and panicked.
River/Joey: They’ll run into the Host…It’s the Host and the Mayor. They’re the ones behind this.
TARA walked in behind PARA carrying bags of food. She looked at the somber room.
Tara: What’d I miss?
