This blatant corruption. The conservative right, which I began my adult life supporting, continues to be its own worst enemy. I'm not exactly a liberal but this is the sort of crap that sets the intelligent members of its base into unceasing cringes, and makes guys like me ask how the hell things got so stupid.

But yes, I'm in agreement with you. I turned my back on the Republican Party years ago for the reason you stated, among others. It's the party of the willfully ignorant and the would-be theocrats who would turn this country into a Christian Taliban if they could.
