    "I'M SO HAPPY!!!"
On 11/3/2010 at 3:22:16 PM, Monkipzzle started the thread:
Republicans kicked democrat ass last night!!! Now if they could just take control of the senate...I hope Obama cried himself to sleep...

    Who cares?

Msg #2: On 11/3/2010 at 10:14:16 PM, QuickComment replied, saying:
The record turnout illustrates many people cared. You keep on not caring, though, while we slow Obama's agenda to a halt.

I wouldn't phrase it exactly like Monki but the sentiment is right.

Agreed with QC and Monk. I wish we could have retaken the Senate as well but I'm happy with what we got. And, as QC said, obviously alot of people cared. Let's just hope that come 2012, we can get back the Senate and the Presidency as well......assuming, of course, we actually get some people worth voting for.

I'm just glad Pelosi is no longer Speaker of the House.

It's even more fun that Pelosi is going to try to retain her leadership role in the minority. Her favorability is 8%. Hilarious.

It really is funny how clueless you are, but please, keep on responding with stupid pictures and links. It really is representative of the cluelessness of the majority of Democrats.

I hate to necro-bump something like this, but maps like that are a pet peeve of mine. The blue areas only appear small relative to land surface area, not actual population. The blue areas are where all the densest population centers are. If you morph the shape of the country so that population is evenly spread, you get things like this:

That's obviously not the same data, but you get the idea.

This has nothing to do with politics. I see these sorts of maps all over the internet to supposedly prove that the U.S. is overwhelmingly conservative (or, inversely, that the conservative expanses between densely populated metropolitan centers are irrelevant). They're misleading in the way they present data.

WTF...you mean to tell me that the population density of Montana is NOT the same as New York?! IMPOSSIBLE!

    It's true!

EDIT: Seriously though, I know it's obvious, but every time one of those maps turns up people start clucking about how it shows how overwhelmingly "red" the U.S. and how that is, depending on the clucker, a fantastic or a horrible thing.

Well, people should (but probably won't) be able to look at that and know instantly that, although an overwhelming majority of that map is red, it is also typically in the less densely populated regions that the red dominates.

Still they do illustrate that when the land war comes, it will be very easy to perform a pincer move on the liberal strongholds of California and New York by annexing Canada.
