    "jp4 logo evidence of reboot?"
On 6/24/2013 at 2:07:35 AM, Dilophosaurus started the thread:
this is obviously complete speculation, but i have a feeling that the color choice on the new jp logo may suggest a reboot that is more heavily influenced by the source material. the reason i think this is because the jp logo in the novel was blue and white, although it had a sauropod in it and not a t-rex skeleton. this logo may be a mix between the novel and film concepts. the reason it is not a complete redesign is because the people behind the franchise (irl) are reluctant to completely reinvent a logo that is so iconic. i have a hard time thinking of any logo belonging to a fictional brand that is as widely and immediately recognizable as the jp logo is.

It's too early to say anything. We know that Sam Neill was given the impression that it's a reboot (of sorts), but the title has always been attached with the number 4. This poster may only just be an appetizer to get people thinking. With the 3D portion of the film out recently, it might be playing on that concept that people still have the original film fresh in their minds. Give them something akin to the original, but then reveal it is a sequel later.

I don't know, I don't care. A movie is coming out. That's all we know.

Interesting - I have a very early copy of Jurassic Park in hardback and the cover has a T Rex skeleton in black on a white background. No movie style logo at all.

Iconic logos what about Starwars? All the superheroes (most of which have survived the reboots) Batman, Spiderman, Superman. JP logo is iconic but probably no more so than any other major film franchise and it changed it's character in JPIII by replacing the t-rex with the logosaurus.

I look forward to seeing what comes next but won't assume that using blue implies it is a reboot.

The Dinosaur on the third film's logo was Spinosaurus. Do not disrespect that dinosaur.

Maester, I assume you are relatively new to this site, but when the JPIII logo was first released there was lots of speculation going on as to what dinosaur it was. Spinosaurus, Baryonix Suchomimus?

Consequently it was affectionately known as logosaurus!

Msg #5: On 8/1/2013 at 6:27:52 PM, Maester replied, saying:
I've been here since before JP3. Secondly, I know what the dinosaur was well before it was revealed. There is absolutely no mistaking the telltale signs of Spinosaurus. Though it is related to Baryonyx and Suchomimus, only fools ignorant to the nuances of species would ever make that mistake. Not that it matters anyway, since all I saw since JPIII were ignorant fools bashing a dinosaur they didn't know because they were to numb on Tyrannosaurus.

Jesus, shut the fuck up, dude. I don't even say that very often on this site, but just stop taking everything so fucking seriously.

    Things to take seriously here:
    - Monkipzzle talking about 9/11
    - People whose political opinions are dumb
    - People with dumb opinions about JP3 and spinosaurs

Things not to take seriously here:
    - Everything else
