    "Important Question about Jurassic Park"
On 8/4/2011 at 10:54:48 AM, dieterstark started the thread:
I always wondered this, hopefully you guys can help shed some light on the topic. Did Gennaro and Malcolm KNOW that Hammond was engineering dinosaurs before they got to the island (in the novel or the film)? I thougth Gennaro's whole arc was he knew what Hammond was doing and still let him cut corners and work unsupervised and that Malcolm said the whole thing wouldn't work before Hammond even started the project. So, when Gennaro and Malcolm got to the island they were surprised to finanlly see results but not as taken back as the scientists who had no idea what the place was about.

So, did they know what they were going to see?

    Yes, both of them knew.

Malcolm even says. "You crazy son of a bitch, you did it."

They most likely never saw pics or anything though of them.

Yes, both of them knew. In the novel this is very clear. The movie alludes to their foreknowledge as well; Malcolm LOLs at Grant being a paleontologist while Genarro clearly knows about all of the safety and security measures that were in place.

What Trainwreck and Oviraptor said. They both new to a "certain degree" but weren't presented with any credible evidence until they arrived with Grant and Ellie.

Msg #4: On 9/15/2011 at 1:01:04 AM, QuickComment replied, saying:
Gennaro knew quite a bit, especially since he was combined with the novel's Ed Regis character in the movie. He likely would have extensive understanding given that he was the legal representative for the group of investors (consortium) that financed InGen. I don't remember if it was Gennaro or Regis who kept calling Grant after hiring him to write the paper on baby dinosaur development asking him questions urgently about what they would or wouldn't eat, etc. So either way, he had intimate involvement, even if it wasn't physically at Nublar.

Makes me want to read Jurassic Park again.

It was Genarro that kept contacting grant about dinosaur behavior, diet, etc. I have JP next to my shitter and read it very time I poop.
