When Spielberg's wife Kate slid a piece of paper with TLW's 2-day gross across the table to him, Spielberg first thought it read $2.2 million -- he later looked again to realize it was actually $22 million.

Haven't heard of this until just now.

Oh, from our very own jackdelamare? At first I was going to ask if this was Anthony Fellatio's project come to fruition.

The Aussie sequel to JP. The captain of the boat always has to die in these movies.

    Wow...that was pretty bad.

I mean...I guess for a fan film, the special effects were decent enough, and there was some pretty scenery in it, but the music is really generic and the dialogue and acting/actors are absolutely horrible. That monologue at the end is particulary cringe-worthy.

And I'm sorry, but the idea of a "Site C", or a third island, has always been and still is a stupid idea.

Also, you can see a group of people walking around in the background at about the 20:00 mark.

I mean, I hate to rag on something that a number of people clearly spent alot of time and effort on, especially people so young, and if it was simply a matter of this being an internet video it would be fine, but the fact that this is even being considered for a festival of any kind opens it up to serious review, and in that respect...I'm sorry, but this is not good.

Still...for a first film, this is an admirable effort, and I think that the crew at least (don't think there's much hope for the cast, unfortunately) could potentially do quite well on future projects if they learn from their mistakes and improve.

According to Twitter, it was just officially released on Friday. I think some people from JPLegacy made it or had something to do with it, but I'm not sure about that.

I love the idea and I'm glad they got it done. Its inspirational as well, you can do things in this world if you just fuckin' do it. And Rome wasn't built in a day, who knows this could be the first of many many more for the guys who made this, or it could be something fun they did for the hell of it. Either way, they did and thats what counts.

Maybe I'll post some of my writing.

It bothers me that anybody attempts to make their own music for fan films. Just put some JP soundtrack in there. It's a FAN FILM!

Not really. Even SyFy movies generally have at least one good actor thrown in amidst all the crappy ones.

Eh, I thought it was better than JP3.

Msg #12: On 5/23/2011 at 3:51:32 PM, BrachioInGen replied, saying:
It was made by Jack DeLa Mare and posted not too long ago. We've been working on that since about 2007. It started on JPToys, then to JPL, and now complete.

As for the music, due to the want to sell the DVD's at cost, the name "Jurassic Park" was dropped from the logo and no musical reference to the themes from the films were made although there were temp tracks form the films utilized and even some temp JP themes written.

Msg #13: On 5/23/2011 at 4:13:01 PM, Carnotaur3 replied, saying:
You still used designs for the dinosaurs based on Jurassic Park to sell DVDs. Not sure how legal or even ethical that is.

I'm sure Universal could take you to court with just that much ripped off, but they have better things to do as a company.

Msg #14: On 5/23/2011 at 4:35:20 PM, BrachioInGen replied, saying:
Wasn't my part of the pie. We just did what we thought was best.

As for the skins, they were professionally made and are sold all the time online to animators so I suppose if Universal wanted to stop that, they could have loong ago :-p
