This was one of those times.

Msg #9: On 1/23/2016 at 3:47:21 PM, Raptor Vinny replied, saying: It was less pretentious but where the fuck was the character development? I didn't give two fucks about Leo getting revenge because they never seemed to form a bond between the son and Leo. And Hardy's talents were completely wasted for much of the film.
Do you have a review yet, Ostro? This might be one I'll be on the same page with you on.
The cinematography was quite good at least. Replies: 10

I actually liked the movie all right because it had so many great moments and scenes, but it was mostly a failure as a work of storytelling and as an adaptation of the Hugh Glass story.
Msg #11: On 1/27/2016 at 2:48:41 AM, Cameron replied, saying: It was an alright movie. Leo did good, and the cinematography was great (Though Sicario is still my favorite of 2015 in that regard) but it was way too long and lacking substance. Nowhere near as good as Birdman, which is disappointing, after that one I expected a lot more from this. Replies: 12

Msg #13: On 1/28/2016 at 11:30:53 PM, Cameron replied, saying: Agree to disagree. It was Tom Hardy I thought sucked, and who I still think is the single most over rated actor working today
