I think this is fantastic news. Never in my life did I think we'd actually SEE something outwardly physical come from a dinosaur. I'm mind-boggled about this.

Some evil scientists melting plastic and pidgins no doubt.

The problem with the thing is that the link for whatever reason had font coding embedded in the url.

This is blasphemy. Satan created this evil thing of science to confuse us and lead us from God.

I just watched a short clip of an interview with Jack Horner. He suggested that the JW dinos have feathers, but like a limp dick, he conceded to Spielberg when he insisted that nobody could possibly be scared by a feathered dinosaur. REALLY?!

I know this is a dead issue, but if any of you fucksticks still make this argument, look at the following images and tell me they aren't more terrifying and more spectacular than the animals from 1993:

Dinosaurs had feathers, deal with it.

The only reason people would think dinosaurs are scarier without feathers is that they look more reptilian, and people are afraid of reptiles. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, but doing anything that's contrary to known science in order to make the dinosaurs appear more reptilian goes against the entire point of Jurassic Park.

I actually think the feathers look fucking badass and scary as hell. Cassowaries are basically de-clawed velociraptors with battering rams on their heads and they're one of the scariest goddamn animals around. I read a paleontologist's reaction to the Jurassic World trailer a while ago, though, and she's probably right in guessing that one of the real reasons to not put feathers on them in the movie is that feathers are really hard to animate.

I don't doubt that there were feathered dinosaurs, but what would a Rex gain by evolving feathers? That's a massive animal and isn't even evolutionary close to being able to fly.

Lots of animals have feathers that can't fly.

I think dinosaurs with feathers are way scarier than dnio's without

Without they look reptilian, yeah, but they look like something that's not all that strange. With feathers they look uncanny and terrifying.

Msg #19: On 6/18/2015 at 9:20:36 PM, Velociraptor87 replied, saying:
This is probably why some people find feathers less than intimidating.

Granted, I don't think this is accurate. But it does highlight a problem I kinda have with the JP dinosaurs, t rex in particular. In the movies, their skin around their nose and eyes looks sunken in and emaciated - it gives them a very skeletal (and kinda demonic, monstrous) appearance, whereas i think rounding out their shape and giving them some fat is a bit more realistic.

Msg #25: On 6/22/2015 at 10:51:15 AM, Compy01 replied, saying:
It must get so annoying being a paleontologist, and having to explain why it's not possible to create a real life Jurassic Park to the media every time they discover well preserved dinosaur specimens.

Msg #26: On 11/4/2015 at 11:54:35 AM, Ostromite replied, saying:
    Ornithomimus covered in feathers

The story is cool, especially since I think the ornithomimosaurs are a fascinating and under-appreciated group of dinosaurs, but it's just one more undeniable fact of how dinosaurs really looked that makes the new Jurassic World series look so fake and shitty.
