Chapter 4: Redemption of the Soul
Dawn and I walked through the exit slowly, we peered out and looked both ways to see if there are any humans around to stop us. There were none. We still remained caution going through the walkway. We returned to the area where all the raptors were being held to release Rain and Cloud, loyal members of our pack. Looking for them was like one of those tests the humans did on us, except no lightning to shock us. It was very quiet. The only noise I heard was the dripping coming from the ceiling. We stopped for a minute. I heard something moving around here. We continued moving down the tunnels of metal to the room we were originally in. The sound of footsteps got louder. We went down tunnel after tunnel of metal. Finally we found the source of the noice. It was a human(with one of those cylinders with light coming from it) walking back and forth. I could smell that the human was scared. I looked at Dawn and saw the anger that was in her green eyes. Dawn went ahead quietly to kill the human. Right when the human was turning she gained speed but still was very quiet. The human turned and saw Dawn running towards him. The human's skin colour paled and the human started to run while screaming. Dawn jump right on the human's back and dug into the human's back. The force of Dawn jumping on the human's back caused the human to fall down.Dawn continued to tear at the human's back while the human screamed in excruciating agony. She ripped away the skin from the human's back as blood spurted and dribbled down his disfigured and mangled torso dawn then found her way to the humans backbones and snapped down upon them instantly snapping them and rendering the human immobile. The human screamed bloody murder as the pain surpassed realism. After a couple more bites Dawn had excavated the heart through the back of the rib cage. Blood gushed out of the deep cavity. As the human hung there by the power of Dawn, spasming, Dawn observed what she believed this gory mass to be beaty as the heart continued to still beat, this was her gold. With a swift quick movement Dawn pieced through the heart erupting a large quantity of blood. The screams stopped, the humans torment was over. I walked over to her and took some of the meat. The meat tasted sweet. We ate the stomach and tore away the intestines. We also licked up a lot of the blood that spilled onto the floor. After we got our fills the human was mostly a pile of bones and flesh. Our snouts were covered in a lot of blood but it will fade away after a while. We had to learn to eat our prey without getting ourselves covered in blood or else we would become the hunted. We haven't had a good hunt like for a long time. I was surprised that we heard this human from so far away. The better hearing must be one of the many additions of these new bodies of ours along with our better vision in the dark. I wonder what else is enhanced about us. We continued down the maze of tunnels and finally reached the area of the doomed raptors. We entered the area and saw that all of the raptors went under the change that we have experienced. I sniffed the air to get the scent of Rain and Cloud. I kept moving through the area and notice the scent was getting stronger. I looked in the cage the scent was coming from and saw Rain and Cloud. Dawn and I were glad to see them but they didn't seem to be as excited.
