    By aragorn_8

Sorry for the weird way the previous 2 chapters were (Format wise) I screwed up, but these next bunch should be back to normal.

    ~ CHAPTER 12 ~

    A Police Investigation

Dillon entered the change room pushing a wheelchair. Dillon and Steven both helped to get Allison into it and Dillon started to push her out of the room as Steven followed.
"Thanks guys, I appreciate it." Allison said as she was wheeled across the gym, the wheels squeaking. "I'm proud of you two _ you both are changing into nice, young men."
"While I was out,” Dillon explained. “I ran into Edward, Jamie, Brad, Jesus...." Then he added. “...and Jeff.”
“You saw Jeff? How is he? Where is he?" Allison asked.
"Yeah, I saw him. He's fine, perfectly ok. He was really concerned about you, but I told him that me and Steven were taking after you and he thanked me. We're gonna meet him and the others at the attic."
"Where in the hell is the attic?" Steven asked.
"While I was out, I looked at the map, the attic is kind of far, but I'm sure we can make it."
"Lets go then. I can't wait to see Jeff." Allison exclaimed, getting excited. Her new boyfriend was safe and sound. It turned out that her fear and the sinking feeling in her heart was for nothing. It was just her mind playing tricks on her.
They left the gym and went down a hall, starting their journey to the attic.

Within a few minutes, they had reached the stairs leading to the top floor and saw the ladder to the attic at the top. They were all surprised that no one was there, but no one said anything, fearing the worst but hoping for the best.
"Now we have a big problem." Dillon said.
"Yeah how are we gonna get Allison and the wheelchair up the stairs?" Steven asked.
"Dammit, I wish the elevators were working!" Dillon said, angry.
"Looks like you guys are just gonna have to push me up the stairs or carry me up." Allison said.
Steven and Dillon got behind Allison and began to push the chair up the stairs. It was taking all their strength to do so, but it was working.
They got to the top and stopped for a breath, for Dillon and Steven did a lot of work. They were almost too tired to continue.
Suddenly out nowhere, Grim Reaper walked into the scene before the trio. Dillon and Steven ran for their lives, screaming, running off down the hall, leaving Allison behind!
Allison screamed as the Reaper pushed her wheelchair, sending it back down the stairs backwards.
She landed at the bottom, the wheelchair, tipped on it's back. Allison, though in much pain, quickly unbuckled herself and rolled onto the floor, where she started to crawl away, her leg leaving a trail of blood behind her.
In her mind, she was taking back everything she had said about Steven and Dillon turning into nice, young men. They were nothing but cowards. Big, good-for-nothing cowards.

Candice, Mr. Fink, Brad, Jesus, Jamie, Edward, Angela, and Jeff all met each other in a hall. Candice and Mr. Fink rose to their feet and the now large group travelled together and reached the ladder to the attic, and Dillon and Steven came out cautiously from around a corner
"Where's Allison?" Jeff asked, seeing them, but not his girlfriend.
"Sorry." Dillon admitted. "We left her behind when Grim Reaper attacked us.”
"I told you to look after her! Not get her killed!" Jeff shouted. He couldn’t believe he ever trusted these two. He must have been out of his mind!
"We can all go look for her together." Brad suggested.
    "Ok." Jeff and Edward agreed.
"Fine." Mr. Fink gave in, already knowing it was useless to disagree. "But we all stay together, no matter what!"
They turned around and started walking back down the hall again. The air in front of them shimmered a little and soon enough Grim Reaper appeared in front of them!
Steven ran to the side of the hall, where there was a pole laying there, and picked it up and began hitting the killer with it, over the head.
Grim Reaper seemed to ignore the blows, as if he wasn’t even feeling them, and drew his scythe from his back. He was about to strike at Steven, when Dillon ran up and tackled Grim Reaper to the floor, sending both of them down.
As they were falling, Grim Reaper disappeared and re_appeared behind Steven, faster then anyone could blink. It was time to start getting serious with this group of victims.
"Where'd he go?" Steven asked, looking ahead, and not realizing that he was behind him. Dillon landed on the floor hard.
Mr. Fink started speaking. "If this thing can disappear, then hiding in the attic won't be any good. We're screwed. I can see what he's doing! He's slowly killing us, one by one. He's taking his jolly ol' time. If he wanted, he could kill us all in a few minutes."
Then Grim Reaper swung his scythe forward and it ripped through Steven's back and out his front. Blood trickled out of Steven’s mouth as Dillon stood up, and with the others, watched in horror. Grim Reaper raised Steven off the floor and flung his body across the hall. Dillon was in complete shock at having seen his best friend just get murdered before his very own eyes!
Everyone ran, tugging on Dillon, who gave in and ran with them, down the stairs, and when they got to the bottom, saw the empty wheelchair. Jeff felt his heart sink, and felt like throwing up, thinking that Allison was dead as well.
The Grim Reaper started walking down the stairs after him.
It was Jeff’s turn to get tugged on, and he was pulled away by Dillon and Angela, before he finally gave in and ran with the others.

As the team was running down a hall, Jesus got freaked and ran down a side hall, leaving the others. As he ran down the dark hall, he turned and saw Grim Reaper also turning off, following him!
Jesus turned down another hallway and ran into a bathroom and into a stall and closed the door, hoping to loose his attacker.
A few seconds later, he heard footsteps enter and saw boots under the stall door. He held his breath, daring not even to breath.
Then the scythe blade ripped through the door and stopped inches away from Jesus' nose. His eyes went wide, but he still held his breath, no matter how hard it was. He couldn’t let Grim Reaper know he was in there.
The blade left and Jesus decided it was time to counter attack. He rammed the door opened with all his strength and sent Grim Reaper flying back against the bathroom counter, and bend his back over it.
Jesus ran out of the bathroom and down the hall, leaving the killer behind.

Jeff, Edward, Angela, Brad, Candice, Jamie, Mr. Fink, and Dillon were still running. They stopped to catch their breaths.
"It didn't follow us!" Mr. Fink exclaimed, looking behind them.
"Wait! Where's Jesus?" Brad asked, looking around. They all joined in and looked around and saw that Jesus wasn't with them.
Jeff said, "Grim Reaper must have got him."
    "No!" Brad shouted.
"Brad!" Candice shouted back. "Face it. He was with us one minute and not the next and Grim Reaper used to be right behind us and now he's not."
"Then Jeff should come to his senses about Allison." Brad shouted back. Jeff turned around and punched Brad right in the face, sending him to the floor. Jeff was so enraged by that comment, it was hard not to get down on that floor and start beating the crap out of Brad.
"That had to hurt." Candice exclaimed.
Angela leaned over to Edward and Jamie and whispered, "Now that he had coming." Jamie and Edward smiled, trying not to laugh.
“We will continue to look for Allison. I know she’s not dead." Jeff commanded. Everyone started walking again and Brad helped himself up as they walked away. Though his face hurt, he followed the group, knowing that if he was separated from them, he would die next.

Allison walked down the hall, dragging her bad leg as she did so. She walked into the swimming pool area and over to the sauna.
She opened the wooden door and walked inside and over to a bench. Once the door closed, she was pitched into total darkness. She curled up into a ball in the corner and started to cry.
She knew there was no way out of this, and she just wished that it would all be over.

Outside, the blizzard had calmed down to a light snowfall. But just like with any natural disaster, the worse was still to come. This was just the calm before the storm.

In the road and parking lot of the school, Police cars, Fire trucks, and ambulances waited outside. The street, at both ends, were blocked off with road blocks.
Two police officers, Officer Abbot and Officer Adams walked up to the police tape and walked over it, and were suddenly approached by a camera crew.
"Officers, what's going on here?" The Newslady asked.
Officer Abbot responded. "A couple of people were walking down the street when they looked in the window of the school and saw some guy dressed in a Halloween costume chasing after a couple of kids. They then called us."
"Do you think they're still alive? The kids I mean."
"That's what we're here to find out. Now if you'll excuse us." They left the camera crew alone and walked over to the doors of the school. They both hated media people. They were always getting in the way when important work had to be done.
"We need these doors down now!" Officer Adams shouted. A team of firemen walked over with fire axes and started banging on the metal doors with them. They soon stopped, realizing that it was pointless.
"Doesn't work. What do we do?" The lead fireman asked.
"Blow it up." Officer Abbot commanded.
"But we don't have the explosives for that." Officer Adams informed him. “These are solid steel doors.”
"Then we'll get them." Officer Abbot turned and walked back to his squad car and went to the radio.
"Dispatch, we need a box of high explosives down here at Great Mills High School, and on the double!"
"Copy 4 1." The female voice on the other end responded. Officer Abbot left and went back outside and over the police tape again and started looking up at the school, wondering what was happening inside.

Edward, Jeff, Dillon, Angela, Brad, Mr. Fink, Jamie, and Candice were walking down a hall when Candice pointed something out to them.
    "Look!"
They rushed over to where she was standing and they looked out the window. Below them they saw all the fire trucks, cop cars and ambulances.
"We're saved!" Jamie shouted and they all began cheering.
"Don't look so happy." Mr. Fink stopped their cheering. "Those doors are made out of some of the toughest damn metal. It'll take a lot of explosives to blow it and if they use that much, they'll probably also succeed in getting the rest of the school with it. Including us."
"Then how do they get in?" Angela asked.
"Well, they'd have to wait for the power to come on, but looks like the school's the only place without power because I see lights on in some of the houses across the street. That means both the generator and back up generator must have been destroyed."
"So how do they get in?" Angela repeated.
"I have no idea." Mr. Fink admitted. Everyone soon realized that they were yet again trapped, with no way of getting out.

Officer Abbot and Officer Adams were walking around outside, giving orders to other police. Suddenly, a fireman ran up to them.
The Fireman started speaking to them once he had their attention. "You know your man that's on the roof?” the fireman asked. About half an hour earlier, they had helicoptered an officer to the roof. “Well he called down to us and said that he's finished clearing the snow out of the way of the door. He can get the door opened. That means that we now have a way to get inside the school."
"Tell him that we're coming up." Officer Abbot ordered.
"Yes sir." The fireman ran off, back to his truck. The two police officers went over to their car and inside. Officer Abbot took the CB off it’s holder again.
"Dispatch?" Officer Abbot called in. "We need that chopper back. And cancel the order of explosives. Over."
"Well do. Over." Dispatch said back. The two cops went back outside to wait for the helicopter to come back and bring them to the roof. They had to get inside and fast. Who knew how much longer those people had, if in fact, they were still alive.

Allison was still curled up into a ball in the sauna, when suddenly the door opened and a shadow fell over her and her eyes went wide with fright. “You! But how?” She asked. Then the shadow got larger, showing that the figure was getting closer.
    No! Get away!” Allison shouted.

Mr. Fink, Candice, Brad, Jeff, Jamie, Angela, Dillon, and Edward were still walking among the halls.
"Where do we look?" Jamie asked.
"I think we should try the bathrooms first." Edward answered.
"Why?" Mr. Fink asked. "Is that where you'd hide?"
"No. I just have to take piss." They walked down the hall, heading for the closest bathroom. Jeff was getting more worried by the minute, and he hoped against hope that they would find Allison still alive and unharmed.

Jesus ran down a set of stairs and then down another. He got to the first floor and ran down the halls. He soon reached the gym and ran inside and to the end of it, to the equipment room.
He pulled open the door and inside was tons of gym equipment. Jesus reached over and pulled out a bow and a bunch of arrows and put the arrows in a holder and then strapped the holder over his back.
"I've got a ninety percent accuracy in archery. I'd like to see him get me now!" He ran out of the gym and back into the halls, loading the bow. He was starting to get his confidence back now, and his fear was leaving.

Back outside, a helicopter was hovering the over roof of the school, a spotlight shining down as the rotors blew the snow around.

Inside the helicopter were Officer Abbot and Officer Adams. They loaded their guns and holstered them. On their belts they also had walkie_talkies and flashlights.
"We're going to radio back out once we find something. If we get split up, radio the other person the minute you see anything." Officer Abbot informed his partner.
    Officer Adams responded. "Ok."
They jumped out of the helicopter and landed in the high snow, getting their pants wet, up to their waist. They travelled with difficulty through the waist high snow until they got to the door with their man at it.
The man saluted them and headed for the helicopter, which lowered a ladder for the man to climb up. Soon, the chopper left and landed on the ground, allowing for the man to get out.
The two cops took out their flashlights as they kicked open the door and headed inside the school. The door banged against the back wall, causing the bang to echo down the dark hall.
The two cops headed down the stairs to the top floor and shined their lights around.
Officer Adams was the first to get a disgusted look on his face, but was quickly followed by his partner. "Do you smell that horrible stench?"
"My God, yes, it smells like dead carcasses." Officer Abbot agreed, wrinkling his nose.
    "That’s the smell of death."
"Now, lets not jump to conclusions." Officer Abbot tried to calm him down. They continued down the stairs, fearful of what they would find.
