    Halloween: The Series 1X06
    By aragorn_8

The Screen is black. The Opening Credits roll and Laurie’s theme plays as we…
    FADE IN TO-
A Long dark Hallway illuminated with a haunting, mysterious blue light.
We realise that we are looking through somebody’s point of view as we walk down the corridor step by echoing step.

    JAMIE (VO): Uncle..

Jamie’s voice fades away as the image cut to some kind of chamber, much like a prison cell where Jamie lies on a cot staring blankly at the ceiling.
We zoom in on her eyes. They are black and emotionless. Uncaring. Much like her uncles.

    FLASH CUT TO-
Jamie standing at the top of a staircase holding a bloody pair of scissors in her hands as portrayed at the end of Halloween 4.

    FLASH BACK TO-
The Cell. Jamie is no longer occupying the cot. Instead a young boy is with dirty blonde hair. The body of the boy may be different from Jamie’s but the eyes are the same, Emotionless and Vacant.
    Could the Boy Be Michael?

    SMASH CUT TO-
    INT. TOMMY’S APARTMENT- EARLY MORNING
Tommy screams as he wakes up from a deep sleep, breathing frantically. The Dream he was having has apparently frightened him greatly.
Early Morning sun shines through the windows as Tommy Jumps out of bed and walks over to a small table besides his computer covered in pills.
Tommy Swipes two of the pills off the table and throws them in his mouth. In a few seconds his breathing has returned to a normal pace and he seams to have calmed down.

The obsessed man pulls out his computer chair and slumps down on to it looking around the room at the walls that are specked with a few newspaper clippings. Nothing compared to the amount there is in Halloween 6 but a start none the less. The Clipping Tommy stares at Shows a picture of Jamie. Above it is a headline that reads “Death of Lloyd and Myers is welcomed in Haddonfield by many”

    TOMMY:
When will they realise how crazy they are...

Suddenly a hand shoots out from behind Tommy and grabs him by the shoulder. Tommy gasps and spins around to see SHELLY LINEMAN his neighbour from across the hall standing behind him.

TOMMY: Jesus Christ! Haven’t you heard of knocking?

    SHELLY: It’s a lost cause.

TOMMY: DO I know you? Aren’t you the girl that lives across the hall?

SHELLY: Yeah my name is Shelly. I was just wondering do you have any weed?

TOMMY: What? Do I look like a drug dealer?

SHELLY: No but you a depressed, quiet, young adult, who sleeps all day, and only goes out at night. Those kind of people usually carry.

TOMMY: Well I’d hate to spoil the fun but no. I don’t. Now get out. Find another way to have fun this new years...

Tommy stops when he notices Shelly isn’t paying attention to him. She is staring at the various newspaper clippings and pictures littering the rooms walls.

    SHELLY: Wow, somebody’s obsessed.

Shelly picks up a picture from Tommy’s computer desk of Laurie Strode.

TOMMY: Can I ask you why you have so much Michael Myers Stuff.

Tommy rips the picture out of Shelly’s hands and puts it back on the desk.

TOMMY: None of your business. Now Like I said, get out.

Shelley is walking towards the door.

SHELLY: Jeez.. somebody needs to get some.

Shelly walks out of the room slamming the door shut behind her. Tommy relaxes into the computer chair and turns on a small radio.

BARRY SIMS (VO): Hello to all the trailer park scum out there. This is Barry fucking Sims, answering your pathetic phone calls so lets listen to one. This is A.J from Jersey. A.J what’s on your little mind?

A.J (VO): Hello Barry. I just want to tell you how much I love the show.

SIMS (VO): Wow Thanks. (Sarcastically) I don’t hear that everyday. Please excuse me why I dance on my desk.

A.J (VO): Hahaha your to funny Barry. Anyway I just want to know how you feel about Fred Forsburg the author of the Michael Myers book spending this New Years in Haddonfield gathering info for his next work ?

Tommy rises from the seat and gets closer to the Radio.

SIMS (VO): Forsburg is a loser. Anyone that spends two years writing a book about a dead guy has some serious personal issues. The only person that is more crazy then him is somebody like you who actually cares. Next caller, Mike from Road Island.

    MIKE (VO):
Michael Myers is bullshit. I’m still wondering if he’s even real and not just some dick bandit made up by Haddonfeild to attract tourists.

    SIMS (VO):
Exactly! I’m glad we have at least one intelligent listener out there. Stay on the line Mike. We got a T-shirt for you.

    Tommy turns off the radio.

TOMMY: God, they act like Michael is actually human. I got to talk to this Fred guy. See what he knows.

Tommy jumps up from the computer chair and walks out of his apartment.

We cut to a mysterious figure sitting in darkness; we get no concept of his surroundings except a desk and a pile of photos. He picks them up and shuffles through and comes to one of a familiar face.

FIGURE: Tommy Doyle, yes, you are the one.

The Halloween Theme begins to play. The screen goes blank and the theme continues to play as the camera rises up over Haddonsfield. A Jack-o-Lantern appears, an evil grin on it, and the titles come up:

    HALLOWEEN: The Series.

The music becomes a very rock and roll like version of the music and various images from the series fly up. The cast characters are named as Tommy Doyle, Debra Loomis and Lonnie Elamb.

We open with Lonnie walking out of his house; he walks a few metres away and turns and looks back. We see that Christmas decorations cover the house though they seem to be starting to full down.

LONNIE: Are they ever gonna be taken down? Christmas is over.

He shakes his head and heads on.

We cut to a close up of a calendar, the date is shown to be December 31st. We pan out to see we are in Tommy’s room, he is sitting cutting up a news paper article. He takes a pin from his desk draw and tacks it up with the rest of his collection. The headline reads “STRODE GIRL STALKED BY LOST BROTHER”. It is dated November 1979. We cut to a close up of Tommy’s staring eyes. For a moment, deep in his eyes, we see the obsessive rage he has built up but he quickly returns to normal. It as if he is battling with his inner demons.

TOMMY: Where are you Michael? Where will my search for you take me and what will it do to me?

DEBRA (VO): Is this a private conversation or can anyone join in?

Tommy turns around to see Debra standing in the doorway to the room.

TOMMY: Sorry, just talking to myself.

DEBRA: So I saw. Hope you don’t mind, the door was open.

TOMMY: No, it’s fine. What’s up?

DEBRA: Nothing really, I just visited Uncle Sam. They say he sometimes stirs in his sleep but it may not mean anything. It’s still a fifty-fifty chance as to whether he pulls through but the longer he’s in that state the less likely he’ll… he’ll…

She wipes the tears from her eyes.

DEBRA: I’m sorry, didn’t mean to come around here and start bugging you with my problems.

TOMMY: It’s alright Debra, I understand. Doctor Loomis is a great man, he’s saved many lives. He’ll pull through.

    DEBRA: Thanks.

TOMMY: So, why did you pay me this visit?

DEBRA: Oh, of course! I was wondering what you’re planning on doing tonight; after all it is New Year’s Eve.

TOMMY: It seems so strange to think I’ll wake up tomorrow and it’ll be the nineties. 1990 used to seem so far away.

DEBRA: Yeah, makes you wonder what the future holds. Anyway, you never answered my question.

TOMMY: I really don’t know, I thought about it but I’ve lost my appreciation for days like this. It’s a different celebration I know but it still makes me remember Halloween and that’s not something I want. I know it sounds stupid but there you go.

DEBRA: A simple ‘nothing’ would have done.

Both she and Tommy laugh but it leads into an awkward silence. After a few moments Debra speaks.

DEBRA: Well, I haven’t got anything to do, I don’t know many people around here except you and Lonnie. Unfortunately.

    Tommy laughs.

TOMMY: I can’t believe I ever got to know that guy again, he used to make my life a living Hell. Now I’ve managed to find myself stuck with him on three separate occasions.

DEBRA: Yeah well, we just have to put up with him, he means well. Usually. At any rate, perhaps the three of us could get together for a drink or something.

TOMMY: I guess we could, I mean if you’re desperate enough to want to spend time with Lonnie you really must be feeling lonely! I guess it is hard for you being in a new area. Where and when?

DEBRA: I was thinking the Cloven Hoof at seven, is that alright?

TOMMY: It’s fine, I’ll be there.

DEBRA: Thanks, I’m going to head over to Lonnie’s next. I’m sure I can lure him with the offer of free alcohol.

TOMMY: That should do it! See you later!

    DEBRA: Bye Tommy!

She turns and leaves the room and Tommy gets back to work.

Dark Room: The mysterious figure picks up the photo of Tommy and looks down at it. He turns it over and we see a phone number and his address scribbled onto the back.

    FIGURE: It’s time.

He puts the photo down and switches his lamp off leaving the screen blank.

We cut back to Tommy, a clock shows the time to be 5:00PM, it is quite dark outside. He is looking over a map of Haddonsfield and the surrounding area, red marker pen locates certain areas. He stands up and stretches.

    TOMMY: Enough of that already.

He goes over to a closet and swings it open. Inside are a few pairs of clothes, none of them particularly smart.

TOMMY: Great, what the hell am I going to wear?

Suddenly the phone starts to ring causing Tommy to jump in start. He shoves the closet door shut and goes over to it and picks it up.

    TOMMY: Hello?

MAN (VO): Hello? Is this Tommy? Tommy Doyle?

Tommy’s face goes concerned as he hears the panic in the voice.

TOMMY: This is Tommy Doyle, who’s speaking?

MAN (VO): You have to help me! They’re coming for me, they don’t want me to get to you.

TOMMY: What do you mean? Whose coming for you?

MAN (VO): They’ve got Michael Myers and they’re hiding him. Please don’t let them kill me! Please you can’t!

TOMMY: Myers! Alright, calm down, I want to help you, can you come here and hide; it should be safe?

MAN (VO): No! No, I can’t, I’m scared.

TOMMY: Then I’ll come and meet you, make sure you get here safe. How about that?

MAN (VO): Yes… yes, thank you so much.

    TOMMY: Alright, where are you?

MAN (VO): First you have to promise me you’ll come alone. I don’t trust anyone else but I know that you have a history with Michael. Promise me you’ll come alone, please.

TOMMY: Alright, I promise. Now where are you?

MAN (VO): I’m hiding at the abandoned car factory just outside town. Please hurry, they’re after me and I don’t want to die!

TOMMY: I’m on my way! Stay where you are!

Tommy hangs up and runs over to his drawers. He forces the bottom panel open and reaches in where a gun is hidden.

    TOMMY: Just in case.

He quickly writes the location on a pad and tears it off. He swings on his jacket and runs from the room slamming the door behind him.

We see an aerial shot of an abandoned building with Tommy pulling his car over to it. We cut to see his car slowing to a halt and him getting out. The headlights illuminate the area ahead of him.

    TOMMY: Hello?

He wanders forward and we catch a glimpse of a figure in the shadows. The man steps forward yet we still see very little of him.

    MAN: Tommy Doyle.

Tommy pulls out the gun and aims it straight at the man.

TOMMY: Don’t move. Yeah, I’m Tommy. Sorry about this but I have to be safe.

    MAN: I understand.

The voice is familiar to us. The man lifts his hands up to show there empty. He takes a step forward and the light illuminates his face; it is the mysterious figure (big surprise!).

TOMMY: Slowly forward. What’s your name?

MAN: Dennis. Dennis Holland. You have to get me out of here, they could arrive at any moment.

TOMMY: And who are they then?

DENNIS: The people who took Myers, the ones you talked about. I believe you that they’re real..

Suddenly we hear a gun shot ring out and Dennis collapses forward. Tommy stands shocked moments before diving forward to find the assassin. He can’t see anyone.

    TOMMY: Damn!

He turns to face Dennis. Only to find him standing up. Before Tommy can say anything Dennis swings a large metal pole at Tommy knocking him out.

DENNIS: You made it too easy Doyle.

He walks over to a small wooden crate and opens it up. Inside is a tape recorder. He presses stop, rewind and then play. The gun-shot sound goes off again. We close in on Dennis’ evil smile and fade to black.

Tommy’s POV: We slowly open our eyes and take in the view; a brick wall. We look down and see our hands are chained.

We cut and see Tommy, he is chained up in a basement, a few feet away steps lead up to a iron door. All he is wearing are his jeans, the rest of his clothes are gone; Tommy shakes his head groggily.

    TOMMY: Dennis….

He tries to get up but the chains hold him down; he can’t loosen them however much he tries to. He starts to shout.

    TOMMY: Help! Somebody!

Suddenly the door handle is yanked down and the door forced open. Dennis appears wearing a leather trench coat and carrying a large tool box. He forces the door shut and walks down the steps towards Tommy.

DENNIS: Nobody can hear you. We’re in the basement area of the factory far from anywhere. Just you and me.

TOMMY: What is this!? What the hell do you want!?

DENNIS: You Tommy. Oh don’t look worried, I don’t want you in that way. No, I’m here to make sure you get what you were always meant to get.

    TOMMY: And what’s that?

    DENNIS: Pain.

He drops the toolbox and bursts open to reveal many different instruments of torture! We close up on the horror in Tommy’s eyes.

We see a pub sign reading “The Cloven Hoof”. We cut to inside where Lonnie and Debra are sitting having a drink.

    DEBRA: He’s late.

LONNIE: Maybe he decided not to come, thought that we needed some alone time.

DEBRA: Shut up Lonnie, you haven’t got a chance, not even on New Years Eve.

LONNIE: He’ll show, he probably just discovered another ten year old newspaper article and just couldn’t wait to add it to his collection.

DEBRA: Lonnie, I’m seriously getting worried. Its not like him to be almost an hour late. I’m going to phone.

LONNIE: Fine, bet he’s cutting news clippings.

    He sips his beer.

We cut to a knife being drawn down Tommy’s chest. He cries out in pain as the gash seeps a small amount of blood. He has several cuts on him.

    DENNIS: Hurt’s doesn’t it?

TOMMY: Try it on yourself and you’ll know.

Dennis slaps Tommy across the face with his studded glove leaving a huge bruise.

DENNIS: Insolent. You won’t be by the end of your punishment.

TOMMY: Look, who are you, why are you doing this? If this is my punishment surely I should know what it’s a punishment for.

Dennis faces twists with anger and he kicks Tommy in the ribs. Tommy gasps in agony yet can’t double over due to the chains holding him in place.

DENNIS: You want to know? It will cost you.

    TOMMY: Cost me?

DENNIS: I will tell you why you are here. But if I do then your suffering will become more intense; can you handle that?

TOMMY: Just tell me you twisted fu…

    DENNIS: Very well!

His voice is full of anger and hate. He grabs Tommy’s chin and forces his head up to look into his wide, mad eyes; there faces are all but touching.

    DENNIS: You lived.

    TOMMY: I… lived?

DENNIS: Survivor. That’s what they call your kind. When God sends his Angel of Death all must fall before it and yet you survived.

    TOMMY: Michael…

DENNIS: Shut up!!! The name means nothing! God’s design shows us the way and your time was up, it was unfair for you to survive! You know what happened to my family, to my wife and daughter? Killed and raped. Yes, you heard, killed and raped. By another of God’s Angels of Death; they called this one the Boston Rapist but as I said names means nothing! Nothing!

As he shouts he is spitting over Tommy’s face. He grabs his knife and slices a shallow mark across Tommy’s hand and wipes the blood onto his fingers. He then draws a cross with it on Tommy’s forehead.

DENNIS: No, no one survived in my home, no one except me, I wasn’t there. I was away on business. I asked myself why not me and realised that it wasn’t my time; God had another job for me. I had to get the ones that escaped him, that avoided the Angels of Death and threatened to reveal that even god could make mistakes!

    TOMMY: You’re insane!

DENNIS: No! I am God’s instrument! Have you ever heard of Chris Jarvis?

    TOMMY: No…

DENNIS: She survived a mass murder! She escaped when God had decided she had to die. So, New Years Eve 1984, I took her and finished the job for him; every year since I have taken another victim, another who survived. You were young when he came and so I never thought of you before, I though God wanted you to escape. I was wrong.

TOMMY: How.. how do you know you were wrong?

DENNIS: He sent the Angel for you again! And you cheated him again, you had insulted our lord twice; how could I allow you life!? How!? Tell me, How!!?

    TOMMY: You twisted…

Dennis hits him again and reaches down for a pair of tongs. He looks up and is perfectly calm.

    DENNIS: Let’s continue.

We cut to Tommy’s room. The door swings open and we see Debra and Lonnie stroll in.

DEBRA: You break in places often?

    LONNIE: I got us in didn’t I?

DEBRA: I guess. Now help me look for clues, we have to find out what’s happened to him.

LONNIE: Probably got pissed on his own somewhere.

    DEBRA: Lonnie…

    LONNIE: I’m looking, I’m looking!

Debra is searching the desk when she notices Tommy’s note bad. She turns on the lamp and we see a light indent where he wrote on it. Debra picks up a pencil and gently rubs over; as she does the words are revealed. “Old Car factory”. She turns and goes to exit.

    DEBRA: Lonnie, come on.

    LONNIE: What, where we going?

DEBRA: Old car factory outside town, that’s where he could be.

As they leave we turn and focus on a clock that shows the time to be around 9:30PM.

We cut back to Tommy, he is looking very battered now yet only on his body, Dennis has generally avoided his face; exempting the bruise. Dennis lifts a glass of water and sips it.

DENNIS: Thirsty? I expect you are. All this torture is definitely exhausting and after you chucked your lunch up just now I expect your body is low on liquids. A nice, cool glass of water would probably be perfect right about now.

TOMMY: If…if God wants me dead…

DENNIS: A question. Go on then, let’s hear it.

TOMMY: Why.. why not just… just kill me?

DENNIS: Oh yes, they all ask this. What you fail to understand is that by surviving you insulted God. Every extra second of life is an insult and you have to pay for it all. I can’t just kill you, I have to make you suffer for every year of extra life you’ve lived. And you’ve lived a lot more than most of my other subjects. Now stop asking questions.

He throws the rest of the water over Tommy.

We cut to outside the factory where Lonnie is pulling up next to Tommy’s car. He stops and then he and Debra get out.

    LONNIE: Isn’t that Tommy’s car?

DEBRA: It is, he’s definitely here somewhere.

LONNIE: You might actually be right about that loser being in trouble. All I wanted was a quiet night with you followed by rampant sex.

    DEBRA: Knock it off.

LONNIE: Yeah well, my mates are going to be pissed, I meant to meet them after I’d spent a bit of time with you. Now I’m trying to save Doyle’s arse again.

DEBRA: Shut up and follow me.

She strolls towards the factory building and Lonnie shrugs his shoulders and then follows.

Back down in the basement we see Dennis holding a branding iron over a lighted stove; it glows with heat.

DENNIS: It’s 11:00PM. One hour left of this decade, soon it will be 1990; a year you will not be allowed to see.

TOMMY: I have friends you know. They’ll find me.

DENNIS: Really? You mention this now in your final moments without pain, how interesting. So, where have they been for the last four hours all so? I expect they’re out enjoying the parties like any normal people.

TOMMY: Explains why you aren’t there.

DENNIS: That’s hardly an insult Tommy Doyle. Neither of us is a ‘normal’ person; you are living are time you stole whilst I am working the will of God. I have no time for such things, I spend every day of every year waiting for this moment, looking through potential choices. When you encountered Michael Myers again it was like a sign from Him that you were to be my next project.

    TOMMY: You.. you know what?

DENNIS: And what is that Tommy Doyle?

    TOMMY: You talk too much.

Dennis simply glares at Tommy and then looks down to the iron poker that he is slowly heating up.

We cut to inside the main factory building where we see Lonnie and Debra searching about.

LONNIE: Why can’t we just call out for him?

DEBRA: Because he could be in trouble and he don’t want to give ourselves away.

LONNIE: So what, now he’s at the mercy of some sadist mad man? You really have a speculative mind Debbie.

DEBRA: I’m surprised you even know the word ‘speculative’. No, but what if it’s the people who took Michael; I always thought they might come after us some day and Tommy would be the obvious target.

LONNIE: Well, if it is them they got me to go through. Ain’t nobody going to harm my honey.

DEBRA: Call me that again and I’ll harm you!

Suddenly we hear a muffled cry of pain. Lonnie and Debra spin around in unison and look towards the basement door.

Tommy’s face is in agony as Dennis runs the poker across his chest.

DENNIS: 11:35PM, just twenty-five minutes in which to finally kill you Tommy Doyle. I hate to miss my deadline so I think we will start on the final phase right now.

    TOMMY: And that would be?

DENNIS: The removal of the skin from your face.

Suddenly we hear the grating as the basement door grinds open. Dennis looks around in surprise as Lonnie and Debra walk in.

    DENNIS: What?! This is intolerable!

Lonnie and Debra stare down in horror at Tommy chained up and Dennis standing over him surrounded with torture devices. Dennis quickly grabs a long blade from the side and throws it towards Lonnie; it narrowly misses and clatters to the floor harmlessly.

    LONNIE: Crap!

    TOMMY: Help!

Dennis turns to Tommy, his eyes filled with hatred.

DENNIS: Time to cut things short!

He grabs a scalpel and leaps towards Tommy. By this time Lonnie has come down the steps and he ploughs into the insane murderer. They both fall to the ground and Lonnie hits with a right hook. Dennis appears to be knocked out.

LONNIE: Throw a knife at me would you.

Debra rushes over to Tommy and starts hacking at the chains with a saw.

    DEBRA: Lonnie, help here!

He turns around smugly holding a pair of keys; he tosses them to Debra who begins unlocking the chains holding Tommy down.

TOMMY: Thank God you two found me. I don’t think I would have..

He coughs up a small amount of blood.

DEBRA: Take it easy, we’re getting you out of here.

    LONNIE: So, Tommy, what happened?

    TOMMY: Long story.

LONNIE: You decided to have some bondage fun with this poof but forgot the safety word?

DEBRA: Lonnie, it isn’t something to joke about.

As she finishes untying Tommy Lonnie comes over and they both help him up. Suddenly Dennis jumps up and rushes past them and darts up the stairs.

    LONNIE: Shit.

    DEBRA: Get after him!

    LONNIE: On it!

As Debra helps Tommy, Lonnie heads in pursuit of Dennis.

We cut to outside where Dennis is running over to Tommy’s car. He slides next to it and uses a bit of metal to try and pick the lock. He talks to himself in an insane way as he works.

DENNIS: This isn’t right, he can’t cheat God a third time, this isn’t right. Something will have to be done with him; he’ll suffer like no one has before. I still have ten minutes to get him. Yes, ten minutes!

Suddenly Lonnie rams into him and knocks him down. Dennis grabs a metal piece of piping and hits Lonnie with it sending him hurtling back. He adavnces on his dazed foe.

DENNIS: You think you can stop my work!? Hahahahaha! Nobody can stop my work, my mission is a Holy one and only He may say when it is time for me to stop. When he speaks I kill, that is how it must be!

He prepares to give the killing blow on Lonnie when suddenly a gun shot rings out and his chest splatters with blood. Dennis looks down horrified as he begins to bleed to death.

    DENNIS: No…

He collapses backwards and too the floor dead. Lonnie picks himself up and looks back. Tommy is standing holding his gun, a wisp of smoke escaping the end of it. Debra is holding him steady. Lonnie looks back down at Dennis.

LONNIE: Looks to me like God’s spoken.

He turns and goes over to the others.

    LONNIE: Thanks.

    TOMMY: You’re welcome.

LONNIE: Need a hand with the crippled hero?

    DEBRA: Sure.

We see them hobbling forward towards the cars. Suddenly fireworks explode in the distance as the New Year begins.

DEBRA: Welcome to January 1st 1990.

TOMMY: I wonder what this decade has coming for us.

LONNIE: Lots of sex, cash and alcohol hopefully.

TOMMY: I’ll be happy just to stay alive.

    DEBRA: Ditto here.

They look up at the fireworks in the distance.

TOMMY: New year and a new decade. But the same quest. I will find Jamie and Michael and stop whoever it is protecting them.

    DEBRA: We all will.

LONNIE: Hell, I just wanna get laid.

The screen fades to the image of Jamie Lloyd for a brief moment before going to black.

Roll End Credits over Halloween Tune.
