    Halloween: The Series 1X04
    By aragorn_8

Sorry for the delay. I forgot to post it on wednesday!
    please comment!
    ****************************************

    Halloween: The Series.
    Episode Four: Route 666.

We open with a shot of the nights sky. The moon is half and the stars are bright. The camera pans down to reveal along stretch of road, either side is heavy undergrowth making the area appear very isolated. A truck, not unlike the ones seen in Halloween 4, is driving along this road. We cut to inside the truck where a man, Riley Cotton, is seen driving whilst listening to typical country music. He looks down at a newspaper in the passenger seat.

RILEY: Damn it, Rangers lost again.

We cut again to an outside view. Dust is blowing along the side of the roadway. We see from Riley’s POV; a figure lurks on the roadside ahead. We turn to look as we drive past but the figure stands in shadow.

    RILEY: God damn kids.

He carries on driving with the music playing along. He begins to sing along.

RILEY: Oh return to me my darling…

He stops as he coughs. He reaches down and picks up a bottle and takes a swig of drink before returning his eyes to the road. Suddenly we hear thunder and rain begins to bucket it down!

    RILEY: Oh great. Damn weather.

He flicks on the windscreen wipers but the rain is beginning to get a lot heavier; from his POV we see the road ahead is quite blurred. From outside we see the truck steering is beginning to go a bit all over the place as the road becomes slipperier. Through the haze Riley suddenly sees a figure in the road.

    RILEY: Holy shit!

He turns the wheel suddenly and the truck spins out of control. He cries out in fear as it crashes into the roadside and tips up onto its side, partly in a ditch. He climbs out through the shattered front window mumbling to himself. He begins to pick himself up when he hears a noise behind him. He spins around.

    RILEY: Who…

The word has no sooner left his mouth as the figure, shrouded in darkness, swings a massive, double bladed battle axe and decapitates Riley in one blow. We see the head fly off into the darkness and the body hit the ground. Blood begins to mix with the rainwater as the Halloween theme begins to play. The screen goes blank and the theme continues to play as the camera rises up over Haddonsfield. A Jack-o-Lantern appears, an evil grin on it, and the titles come up:

    HALLOWEEN: The Series.

The music becomes a very rock and roll like version of the music and various images from the series fly up. The cast characters are named as Tommy Doyle, Debra Loomis and Lonnie Elamb.

We open in Tommy’s room. Debra is sitting cross-legged on a bed shifting through various notes. She comes across a collection of newspaper clippings about Michael Myers.

DEBRA: Uncle Sam definitely kept a lot of notes.

She looks down at some of the notes she has and begins to read out loud.

DEBRA: I’m honestly beginning to lose hope in Michael. I’ve tried everything in the book and beyond yet I get no reaction. He just sits, sits and stares out through the wall as if it didn’t even exist…

We see a black and white ‘flashback’ shot of a young boy sitting in a small cell; he is using his nails to scratch at the wall. We see his eyes, they stare out blankly. The camera pans around to reveal what he scratched in to the wall; one word, ‘sister’. The door opens and Michael looks up. We flash back to Debra.

She leans over and picks up a whole newspaper off the side, it’s the Haddonfield Chronicle and the front-page story reads “Memorial for Halloween Slaughter”. The date shows that it is now November 12th. Debra takes a pair of scissors from a draw and begins to cut out the article. The camera pans around to show numerous articles pinned to the wall next to her; once she finishes cutting it out she adds it to the group. She then gets up and strolls over to the window, she draws back the curtains to reveal a bright and sunny day. She looks out across the road to an old, abandoned house.

DEBRA: The Myers house. That’s where it all began…

LONNIE (V/O): You know talking to yourself is a sign of madness.

Debra turns around to see Lonnie walking in the room. He wears tatty jeans and a leather jacket.

DEBRA: Nice jacket Lonnie. Where did you steal it from?

LONNIE: A small shop on the edge of town actually, you want one Debbie? I reckon leather would suit you, not too much though, we wanna see some flesh.

DEBRA: Don’t start Lonnie, I’ve been up all night and I’m too tired for this.

LONNIE: I know you were, I was up all night watching you from across the street. You know you have the cutest little…

    DEBRA: Lonnie, shut it.

Lonnie notices all the clippings and notes.

LONNIE: So this is what you’ve been up to. Gone all Myers fan girl have we?

DEBRA: I’ve been sorting through all my Uncle’s notes actually. And getting together any info I can on Michael.

The door swings open and Tommy walks in. He stops when he sees Lonnie.

    TOMMY: What’s he doing here?

LONNIE: Debbie invited me up for a roll in the old sack.

DEBRA: It’s Debra and no I did not. What’s up Tommy?

    TOMMY: Turn on the radio.

Debra switches it on and a news reporter’s voice comes up.

REPORTER: …body of Riley Cotton was found decapitated by his over turned truck. The isolated road is not often busy and the police have yet to find any witnesses or even clues as to who committed this brutal crime.

    DEBRA: Ouch.

TOMMY: That isn’t far from the area we last saw Michael.

LONNIE: You think Myers could have done this?

TOMMY: It’s a possibility. It’s certainly brutal enough.

DEBRA: But we don’t have that much to go on.

TOMMY: I know but we need to investigate. Anything that could link to him or his abductors needs looking into and so I say we drive out there and see what we can find out.

LONNIE: For once I’m with Doyle. I want to get my hands on Myers, he has to know no one messes with my family.

TOMMY: Oh yeah? What are you going to do? Annoy him to death?

Lonnie goes to say something but Debra quickly cuts in.

DEBRA: Instead of standing here irritating each other why don’t we just get going?

She picks up some keys and leaves the room. Tommy shrugs and goes too, followed shortly by Lonnie.

We cut to a shot of a small town; the houses are quite packed together and a market is set up around the centre. The camera pans around to show the roadway from the start passes through the town. The town, like the road, seems quite isolated. We cut to show Tommy and co driving into the town. They pull up into a car park next to the market and climb out.

LONNIE: Great, the town that dreaded sun down.

TOMMY: Have you actually seen that film?

LONNIE: Who cares Tommy; this place is practically dead.

DEBRA: Lonnie has got a point.

The camera pans around to show that very few people are at looking around the market. The centre is small and there are only about six stalls all of which have one or two people sat at them. They actually all look genuinely bored. Tommy strolls over to the nearest one who is selling fruit. An old man in a wheel chair sits at it.

    TOMMY: Hello.

    MAN: I don’t know you.

TOMMY: No, My friends and I just arrived in town.

    The others come over.

    LONNIE: I’m not his friend.

    DEBRA: Shut up Lonnie.

MAN: You going to buy some fruit?

TOMMY: Actually I wanted to talk to you. About Riley Cotton.

MAN (suddenly hostile): I told the police and I’m telling you, I don’t know anything about him. Can’t you just leave us in peace?

He turns away from them. Tommy looks at Debra and shrugs. They walk away towards another stall, as they do Lonnie grabs an apple and starts to eat it. As he catches up with the others Debra glances at him with disapproval. Tommy approaches a couple in their thirties who are at a stall selling various pieces of pottery. They are MAX and DAISY PRESCOTT.

    DEBRA: Excuse me.

    DAISY: Yes young lady?

DEBRA: Me and my colleagues would like to ask you some questions if that’s alright. It wouldn’t take long.

MAX: Is this about Riley Cotton? Because if it is you’re wasting your time, we have nothing more to say about it.

    TOMMY: We want to help.

    MAX: You buying?

    TOMMY: Well, we don’t…

Max doesn’t look like he’s interested in whatever Tommy is going to say. Before he can finish, however, Lonnie jumps in.

LONNIE: Yeah. How much for this?

He picks up a clay vase decorated in slivers of silver.

    MAX: Twelve Dollars.

Lonnie gets out the cash and hands it to him. Max grunts in approval before moving off.

MAX: I’ll be back later Daisy.

    Lonnie whispers to Tommy.

    LONNIE: You owe me.

Tommy looks puzzled and is about to say something when Daisy speaks.

DAISY: So, what did you want to ask?

    TOMMY: Oh… well…

DEBRA: Did Riley have any, you know, enemies? Anyone in the town who would want to hurt him?

DAISY: Oh no, Riley was a bit rough but everyone loved him. He was very popular, always ready to buy everyone drinks at the bar.

LONNIE: Sounds like my kind of guy.

TOMMY: Have you noticed anything strange going on it town at all recently? Any figures hovering around at night?

DAISY: Well, no, nothing like that. Only the town drunks but we know them all anyway.

TOMMY: So everything has been, well, normal around here?

DAISY: Well, except for the murder, yes. That was such an awful business, I think a lot of people in the town are mourning. Things like that just don’t usually happen in small towns like this. It really is very shocking, to think someone we were so used to seeing on such a regular basis is now, well, gone. And nothing is going to make him come back.

TOMMY: I understand, sometimes the darker side of life can creep up on you and you either except it and face it or turn away and hide in ignorance. Either way it isn’t a good choice.

A Young and Old Woman approach the table and starts looking over the pottery. Tommy directs this question at Daisy.

TOMMY: Well, what do you think happened to Riley?

The Old Woman looks up at Tommy. She speaks before daisy gets a chance to reply. Upon hearing this Daisy turns her attention to the Young Woman.

OLD W: The Axe Man got him.

    TOMMY: Pardon?

YOUNG W: Please excuse my mother, she is very old.

The young woman turns and starts talking to Daisy about buying a set of plates. The dialogue is unimportant and in the background as we focus on the old Woman and her talk with Tommy.

TOMMY: What do you mean? Who is the Axe Man?

OLD W: All these youngsters never believed the old stories but we knew they were true. The Axe Man lived in this very village many years ago.

DEBRA: Why do you call him the Axe Man?

OLD W: Nobody knows his real name, it never was told. He was soldier, a fierce and dangerous warrior. One of the most vicious in all the land it was said. But he got old, wanted to retire, live out a peaceful life with the treasure he had won himself in his lifetime. Forgot about all his past but unfortunately the past always catches up, you discover that when you get to my age.

    TOMMY: What happened?

OLD W: The people didn’t want him living here. They thought he would harm them, bring trouble to their peaceful village. He was dangerous. So when he refused to leave they dragged him out onto the old roadway and killed him. Took his head off with his own Axe.

    DEBRA: Decapitated…

OLD W: So you see, his presence did cause trouble; but it was the fault of the villagers themselves. His spirit was angered, he haunted that roadway all these years. People often claim to see him, I think I have once or twice myself down the years. Never harmed anyone though, something has upset him. I’m telling you now, I ain’t going on that road again. Nope, I never am.

The Young Woman finishes paying for the object and starts to lead the Old Woman off. The old Woman looks back at Tommy, a look of warning on her face, as she is led away.

YOUNG W: Come on Mum, that’s enough ghost stories.

    Debra looks at Lonnie.

DEBRA: Well, I guess we’re going back to Haddonfield then.

Debra and Lonnie turn and head back to the car. Tommy quickly runs up to them.

    TOMMY: Where are you going?

DEBRA: I really don’t think Michael has anything to do with this. Ghost legends or not this just doesn’t feel like his work.

LONNIE: And no Michael means no Lonnie.

TOMMY: Debra, I agree but surely there’s something to investigate. If some kind of.. ‘ghost’ is haunting that road we need to find a way to stop it. These people are obviously scared and they need us.

LONNIE (sarcastically): Who are you going to call?

    DEBRA: I don’t know Tommy…

TOMMY: We can at least stay a while, just to see if anything else happens. This may not be Michael but does that mean it doesn’t warrant our attention? We want to stop one evil, it doesn’t mean we should ignore others.

LONNIE: Well, you do that. I’m getting out of here.

TOMMY: Oh yeah, and how are you going to do that? It’s a long walk back to Haddonfield.

LONNIE: You’re a pain in the ass Doyle. Alright, so what do we do now?

TOMMY: Talk around town, find somewhere to stay. Basically see what we can find out about Riley and his background as well as this so called Axe Man. I’m fairly certain the legend is involved in this and we should try and work out how much of it is truth.

LONNIE: Great plan. Think I’ll just go sit in the car.

He turns and heads to the car. Debra glares after him and turns to Tommy.

DEBRA: He, and the car, better be there when we get back.

TOMMY: I doubt he’ll go anywhere. So, got any idea where to go?

DEBRA: Tell you what, I’ll go and research into Mr Cotton’s background. You look around the town, talk to locals if their friendly and we’ll meet back tonight.

TOMMY: Alright. If you’re going to look up his background it would probably be best to check up the local library. They should have files and newspaper cuttings on the past and on town residents. You might also be able to find some more details on the Axe Man legend.

DEBRA: Good idea. Just be careful, this place creeps me out.

Tommy and Debra head off different ways leaving the camera focusing on Lonnie lying across the car’s backseat’s.

We cut to black. It is now night and we are once again looking down on the isolated road. A Dark red motorcycle is speeding along, its driver wearing a jet black helmet and visor. As he speeds along we see from his POV. His light illuminates the road ahead but not far. Suddenly we pass a shadowy figure on the roadside holding a large Battle Axe! The Biker turns his attention back to the road and carries on along.
We see the moon shining down upon him brightly.
As he drives along something flies through the air and strikes his bike! He swerves and skids as he flies off the road and into the undergrowth! The Biker is battered but relatively unharmed. He drags himself up and looks around at the damage.

    BIKER: Oh man…

He hears a noise behind him and turns to see a figure swinging the axe towards him. He manages to jump aside just in time and the blade imbeds itself in a tree trunk. Though we never see the Axe Man clearly we occasionally make out glimpses of his appearance. He is wearing a suit of chain mail armour, black leather gloves and some kind of medieval helmet. The Biker sees him and begins to crawl back through the dense vegetation.

    BIKER: Holy shit!

The Axe Man removes the Axe from the tree and turns back to the Biker. With one swing he removes the plant life blocking his way. As he advances the Biker turns and begins to flee as fast as he can through the undergrowth. The Axe Man cuts a path through the vegetation in pursuit.

    BIKER: Oh Christ…

The Axe Man is gaining on him, the plants are getting thicker, seeming to deliberately block his way as if the undergrowth itself was attempting to smother him. The Biker is beginning to become more and more panicked.
Suddenly he trips and twists his ankle on the root of a large, creepy looking tree (think Sleepy Hollow). The Axe Man advances and stands over him.

BIKER: Get the hell away from me!

The Axe Man stands back for a moment and looks down at the Biker. Then he swings the Axe in a massive arc and decapitates the terrified man. The head, still inside the Biker helmet, flies through the air and lands with a thump at the base of the tree. The Axe Man walks slowly backwards and vanishes into the darkness.

We cut to a view of the sky, the darkness fades into day and we pan down to the road. Several police cars are parked by the road and the motorbike is being examined. Several other people are crowding around to look but police barriers keep them back. We see Tommy driving up. Lonnie is in the passenger seat but we can’t see Debra. A cop sees them approach and goes over to them.

COP: Look, could you please just move along. We’ve got enough here to deal with as it is.

    TOMMY: What happened?

COP: Look, you don’t need to concern yourself with that. Like I said it would be best for you to…

    Suddenly his pager beeps.

COP: I’m needed elsewhere. Take my advice, drive on.

He turns and runs off back towards the main crime scene. As he does Tommy turns around and parks on the other side of the road. We then see Debra sit up, she has been lying on the backseat! She looks tired and has obviously been sleeping there a while.

LONNIE: Morning Debbie. You know, you look so sexy when you’re asleep.

DEBRA: Shut it Lonnie. Tommy, that was possibly the worst place I’ve ever slept.

TOMMY: I’m sorry, I didn’t know they had nowhere to stay! You’d think even a small town like this would have some guesthouses or something.

LONNIE: At least you weren’t in the front with Tommy, man does this guy snore!

    TOMMY: I do not!

LONNIE: Take it from me, you do.

DEBRA: So, umm, where are we?

LONNIE: On that damn road. Apparently there’s been another murder. Decapitation like before. Or so they said on the radio, I didn’t really listen; Tommy’s the guy who bothers with that crap.

TOMMY: Our Axe Man struck again.

Tommy gets out the car followed by the other two. Lonnie looks over at the bike which the police are moving onto the back of a truck.

LONNIE: Nice bike. Shame about the paintwork.

DEBRA: Lonnie, you can be so heartless at times.

LONNIE: And you love me for it.

Debra looks away from him in disgust. Lonnie chuckles and wanders over towards where the bike is. Tommy looks about and from his POV we see Daisy in the crowd. She spots Tommy and runs over to him.

DAISY: Isn’t this horrible! Another death so soon!

    TOMMY: I know. You’re… umm…Miss….

DAISY: Daisy. Your friend bought a vase from us.

TOMMY: Oh yeah. Though I think he only did it to make your friend happy.

DAISY: Friend? Oh, you mean Max. He’s my husband. He doesn’t like me talking to people who aren’t buying. I’m glad your friend noticed that, I enjoyed talking with you. Where are your friends anyway?

Tommy looks around to find Debra and Lonnie have gone! We see them over by the edge of the road. The Cop from earlier comes over to them.

COP: I thought I told you to get going.

LONNIE: No you said you think we should. You didn’t actually tell us to DO anything.

    DEBRA: Lonnie…

COP: Watch your mouth smart guy.

LONNIE: Yeah, Cops scare me and all. Leave the threats for the kids alright? Because they don’t frighten anyone outside High School.

The Cop looks at him obviously annoyed. Before he or Lonnie can say anything else Debra speaks up.

DEBRA: Look, we we’re just wondering, do you know the name of the victim?

COP: We aren’t positive, he wasn’t carrying any form of Id on him. But this area isn’t very big and from what we’ve seen we’re pretty sure it’s Daniel Smith, the only person to own a motorcycle for quite a few miles around. You know him?

DEBRA: No, afraid not Officer. Thanks anyway.

COP: Alright then. Now will you please get on your way?

DEBRA: Ok, soon as we find our friend.

The Cop heads off. We cut back to Tommy. As he talks to Daisy Max approaches them.

TOMMY: So, did you know Riley well?

MAX: Who’s this you talking to Daisy? Oh, it’s you. You’re that guy from the other day aren’t you?

TOMMY: Tommy Doyle. Pleased to meet you Max.

He offers his hand but Max does not take it.

    MAX: Mr Prescott to you.

    TOMMY: Sorry. Mr Prescott.

MAX: Come on Daisy, we have to go.

He leads her off into the crowd just as Debra and Lonnie come up to Tommy.

LONNIE: Guess what Doyle. Our Debbie thinks she may have an idea what’s going on. She’s smart as well as hot.

TOMMY: So, what have you got? I hope it’s good because I haven’t a clue what’s happening here.

DEBRA: I can’t be sure yet. We need to head back into town, I want to check some of the records I looked at the other day. Then I’ll be able to tell you for sure but I do need to check first.

TOMMY: Alright then, we probably won’t find out much else here. Let’s get going, you’ve got me interested now Debra.

They walk back towards the car.

We cut to see Tommy’s car parked outside a small stone building with the words “Library” written across the doorway. Inside we see Tommy and Debra sitting around the only table looking through various files. Lonnie stands a few feet away looking across the shelves; the place is tiny and is more of a bookshop size than a library.

DEBRA: Last night I was looking into Riley’s background. It turns out he had a criminal record.

    TOMMY: What happened?

DEBRA: About twelve years ago he and three friends broke into the museum and stole a valuable object.

    TOMMY: What was the object?

DEBRA: An amulet that was said to belong to the legendary Axe Man. They sold it on the black market and apparently made a lot of money. However they were discovered and charged; because they were still young they got off leniently. But the amulet was never recovered.

TOMMY: So you think this ‘ghost’ killed Riley for revenge? That the killings are being committed by this spirit?

DEBRA: Exactly. The Cop I spoke to earlier said the second victim’s name was Daniel Smith. It says here that Daniel Smith…

TOMMY: Was one of the other three who took part in the robbery. The Axe Man is killing those responsible for stealing his amulet.

    LONNIE (V/O): Why now?

    DEBRA: What?

    LONNIE: Why wait twelve years?

We see him put a copy of the Karma Sutra back on the shelf as he walks over to the table.

LONNIE: If I was him and it was something of mine the ass holes stole I would have killed them ages ago. Especially if I was an undead monster with a massive Axe, not exactly scared of being caught or anything.

    DEBRA: I’m not sure…

TOMMY: What if something happened to the amulet? I mean who knows where it went after it was sold on? What if it’s been damaged? The Axe Man may hold it dear but he was content to let it go; he was angered but not enough to kill. But, oops, new owner breaks it twelve years later and the Axe Man feels it. He only haunts this area, he can’t revenge on the person who actually damaged it so what does he do but kill those responsible for it leaving the safety of the museum?

LONNIE: Tommy, you are so full of bull.

DEBRA: Look, whatever the reason is he is still killing. And it is likely we have two targets left.

LONNIE: So who are our unlucky contestants?

DEBRA: The files contain the names of all four of the people involved with the robbery and the sentences they served. The charged criminals were Riley Cotton, Daniel Smith, Daisy Benson and Maxwell Prescott. I think we have to find these two and warn them.

TOMMY: We already have. Max Prescott is married to Daisy Benson. They’re the ones we saw at the pottery stall the other day. They have to be next!

DEBRA: What are we going to do?

TOMMY: I saw them driving out of town earlier today but I don’t know if they’re back yet. You two try and find out where they live and see if they’re there. I’ll drive out along the road and see if I can catch up with them.

    DEBRA: Alright, good luck Tommy.

LONNIE: Bet you’re looking forward to spending quality time with me, eh Debbie.

Debra looks at Lonnie and then looks at Tommy deadpan.

    DEBRA: I hate you Tommy.

Tommy laughs as Lonnie puts his arm around Debra. She shrugs him off and marches out. Lonnie follows and Tommy goes and gets into the car. As they walk off down the road Tommy pulls out and heads out of town.
We cut to Tommy getting onto the main stretch of the road. He’s going as fast as he can.

    TOMMY: Come on.

As he speeds along he fails to notice the shadowy shape of the Axe Man standing on the roadside as he speeds past. We fade to black.

We open again with Tommy speeding along the road. There is a roar of thunder and it begins to rain.

    TOMMY: Great…

He turns on the windscreen wipers as the rain begins to come down heavily. As the clouds roll over he turns on the headlights; it’s now quite dark! Illuminated by the lights we see a car heading in the opposite direction. As it gets close Tommy focuses in on those in the car. From his POV we see that they are Max and Daisy! They zoom past him as he beeps his horn trying to get their attention. He slows down and begins to turn in order to catch up with them. As he does he illuminates the road ahead in time to see them sliding off the road and crashing into the undergrowth!

    TOMMY: Oh no…

He speeds up in order to reach them. He stops metres away and jumps out the car and runs over. The rain is pelting down on him and he sees blood mixing with some of the water. We see Max stumbling out from the wreckage.

MAX: What the hell is happening here!

Suddenly we see the figure of the Axe Man coming up behind him.

    TOMMY: Look out!

Max turns and ducks just in time as the battle axe swings above his head. Max stumbles back and the Axe Man advances on him. Seeing this Tommy runs forward and knocks the Axe man back to the ground behind him. The Axe Man grabs Tommy by the shoulders and throws him back with enormous force. Tommy strikes a tree and cries out in agony before slumping to the floor. The Axe Man picks himself up and goes over to Tommy. Tommy scrambles up and manages to just avoid being decapitated. He grabs a large branch off the floor and brings it up and smashes it around the Axe Man’s head.

TOMMY: You think after what I’ve been through on Halloween you’re going to scare me?

He whacks the Axe Man again several times causing the killer to stumble back. As Tommy goes for another strike the Axe Man manages to swing his weapon and cut the branch in two. Tommy backs away as the Axe Man steps forward swinging his weapon across in an arc. Suddenly we hear the screech of wheels. The Axe Man turns and we see Lonnie and Debra jumping out a car and heading towards Max. The Axe Man leaves Tommy and heads towards his main prey.
Debra is helping Max to walk towards Tommy’s car.

MAX: Daisy… she’s still in the car..

    LONNIE: I got it!

Lonnie runs over to the car and sees Daisy lying across the dashboard, bleeding. He shakes her and she becomes partly alert.

    DAISY: Where.. am I?

    LONNIE: Stay with me babe.

He drags her out the car and half carries her from the wreckage. As he does so the Axe Man appears in front of him!

    LONNIE: Oh crap!

Tommy dives into the Axe Man again knocking him aside. He helps Lonnie get Daisy into the back seat of his car. Debra is checking over Max.

    DEBRA: He seems alright.

Tommy looks over at the car they arrived in.

TOMMY: Where did you get that?

LONNIE: I borrowed it. We went to their home and discovered they weren’t due home till tonight. Debbie figured you might need help.

The Axe man suddenly grabs Tommy from behind and throws him into the road. He advances on Lonnie holding his Battle Axe.

LONNIE: Very scary. Get with the times.

Lonnie pulls out his twin guns and proceeds to shoot the Axe Man numerous times in the chest. The Axe Man stumbles back from the shots and reaches the roadside before falling into the undergrowth. Tommy gets up and goes over to Debra and Max.

    TOMMY: What now?

DEBRA: We better get them home. We can phone the hospital from there.

MAX: How is Daisy? Is she..?

DEBRA: Battered but she will live. We just need to get you to safety.

    LONNIE (V/O): Umm.. guys.

    DEBRA: What is it Lonnie?

She turns to see him standing by the roadside looking into the undergrowth.

    LONNIE: He’s gone.

TOMMY: Let’s just get the hell out of here.

MAX: I agree kid. Let’s go.

Tommy gets in and Lonnie squeezes into the back with Debra and Daisy. Tommy pulls off and heads back into the town.

MAX: What… that… the Axe Man?

    LONNIE: You saw him.

MAX: I saw some guy with an axe. Doesn’t mean it was any ghost.

TOMMY: Lonnie shot him in the chest several times and he vanished.

MAX: Bulletproof vest. Lets just get back.

    DEBRA (whispering): Ungrateful sod.

We now cut to outside their house. An ambulance is parked and medics and police are around the area. Daisy is being wheeled away as Tommy, Debra, Lonnie and Max are talking to Cop.

    COP: And he vanished?

    LONNIE: Into thin air.

COP: Your not just giving me a bull shit ghost story are you?

DEBRA: We’re just telling you what we saw Officer. We can’t explain it any more than you can. If you don’t believe in ghosts then you’ll just have to come up with your own answers because we don’t have any.

MAX: I told them, he was probably wearing a bullet proof vest.

COP: Possibly. Well, I don’t think there’s much more you can tell me. Alright, they can get going to hospital and you lot can clear off back wherever you came from.

The Cop wanders off and Lonnie mouths “ass hole” to his back. Tommy wonders over to daisy who is being loaded into the ambulance.

    TOMMY: How are you?

    DAISY: Alright. You going?

TOMMY: Yeah. Think we’ve done all we can.

    DAISY: Thank you.

She smiles at Tommy as she is pushed into the back Max glares at Tommy as he climbs in after her and the doors shut. As the police and ambulance leave the three of them get together.

LONNIE: So that’s it? Case closed?

TOMMY: I guess so. We stopped the Axe Man killing them.

    LONNIE: What about the amulet?

TOMMY: That’s just the missing part of the puzzle. Who knows where it is? Does it really matter, it may have been a catalyst for events but it isn’t directly involved. This just goes to show that even events and words that seem unimportant can have a lasting effect, things are far more complex than anyone can imagine. I expect this town can have peace now. Unlike Haddonfield.

DEBRA: Michael Myers does seem to have cursed Haddonfield doesn’t he. It’s gone from small, peaceful town to a place of fear and death.

LONNIE: And speaking of home, let’s get back there.

TOMMY: Yeah, I suppose we might as well go.

The three of them head back to Tommy’s car.

TOMMY: Though I do wonder what actually happened to the Axe Man…

We cut to a view of the road. The ambulance leaves the town and starts heading down the route. On board Max looks grimly down at Daisy who is sleeping. He then glances out a window to the vegetation at the roadside.
As the ambulance passes across the camera we hear a gust of wind and the Axe Man is seen standing on the roadside watching it pass by…The Halloween theme begins to play as we fade to darkness.
