Warpath: Jurassic Park 4 Movie Script Part 15

CUT TO:
EX: VISITOR'S CENTER-DAY
Grant and company walk up the steps of the front enterance to the Visitor's Center for hopefully the last time. They enter the building into the main lobby and start to go up the steps when they suddenly hear a noise coming from beyond the cafeteria door.
KATHY
"What was that?"
Thorne curiously goes over to investigate with the five other people right behind. Thorne opens the door to the cafeteria seeing several overturned long tables and a destroyed merchendise section with lots of Jurassic Park suvioniers.
THORNE
"It was nothing. Let's continue."
As soon as those words leave Thorne's mouth an adult Dilophosaurus comes crashing out of the door landing right ontop of Thorne as he screams. The animal takes a bite out of the man's head just as Levine and Wu start firing their guns at the animal.
Camera focuses on Kathy who sees Thorne's gun sliding toward her. She picks that gun up and stands ready for an attack. Suddenly several more dilos come crashing out of the Cafeteria after the people.
WU
"It's an ambush! Run for the control room!"
The four other people follow Wu's lead as they go up the spiral staircase and into the long hallway. They continue running to the control room door where Wu takes his card out to slide in the slot. Two dilos have now slide around the corner and are now running full speed toward the people with their fans out ready to spit. Wu slids the card and opens the door. Everyone jumps inside and slams the door.
WU
"Well, Lewis. Impress me."
Dodgson sits down at the computer monitor and starts typing several codes on the computer MS DOS screen. Then like from out of no where the systems start up and go to the main park screens.
DODGSON
"This is one old system! It's still using UNIX! Oh well, it'll be easy to work then."
GRANT
"Just stop the small talk and do it!"
DODGSON
Fine!"
Dodgson starts rapidly looking around on the systems to find the program to get the phones working.
Suddenly the window to the side of the Control room is shattered as three Dilophosaurs come crashing through it. They started stalking around as Kathy, Wu, and Levine begin shooting at the animals. Dodgson continues to type frantically on the keyboard while Grant stands behind him.
Grant then decides to join in the fight and starts running up to the animals and tackling them to the ground. Levine however is still trying to suit at a lone Dilo that is avoiding each shot.
Suddenly the animal jumps at Levine and lands on him as he screams in pain while the animal starts to eat him.
KATHY(screaming)
"Richard!"
She runs over to the animal and starts thrashing at it with the butt of the gun untill Wu comes from the front of the animal and puts a bullet through the animals head. Kathy then drops to the ground, tears pouring down her face as she looks down at her dying boyfriend.
LEVINE(gasping)
"Kathy(PAUSE) Please do me a favor. Tell Robert that I love him and I'll miss him."
KATHY(still crying)
"No! I won't let you die!"
LEVINE
"It's too late for me. Get yourself out of here. Go, please."
Camera switches to Dodgson. He smiles as he finally starts putting the last sequence in. Suddenly one of the Dilos jumps up from below the desk and hisses at the man. Dodgson then pulls out the shaving cream can and sprays the cream on the animals eyes. The animal rives in pain and starts moving away.
DODGSON
"I knew Nedry was good for something."
The computer beeps as the phone systems come back online. Dodgson picks up the phone.
DODGSON
"Henry! What's the number for the boat?"
WU(trying to ward off a dilo)
"555-4754!"
DODGSON
"Ok!"
He begins dialing the number. Camera goes back to Kathy.
KATHY
"No Richard, I won't let you go!"
LEVINE
"I'm sorry dear. I love you and I'll miss you, but you must move on! You can't let your life end with me dying. I'm.....I'm.......sorry."
With those final words Levine lays back and rests not breathing. Kathy screams and lays on the man's body crying her eyes out.
DODGSON(yelling from other side of the room)
"I got the boat! It's on it's way! Come on!"
GRANT
"I know it hurts Kathy, but there's nothing we can do. Come on."
KATHY
"No!"
GRANT(pulls her up)
"Come on!"
The four people start running toward the exit to the building with Dodgson in the lead when suddenly a dilo jumps from out of an oposite hallway and lands on Dodgson, sending him right into the wall. He screams as the animal starts eating him. Kathy continues to scream at this while Grant drags her on.
The now three people run down the steps to the lobby and get ready to exit, when suddenly several dilophosaurs come running out of hiding and surround the people.
WU
"What's going on?"
GRANT
"They won't their eggs that's what's going on!"
KATHY(still crying)
"What do we do?"
GRANT
"I have no idea."
Then several Velociraptors come crashing through the main Visitor's Center doors and hiss at the Dilophosaurs.
GRANT
"Everyone get down!"
The raptors then attack the unexpecting dilos and a battle begins between both packs. The three people jump up and run out of the building and into the open where they're met by a jeep pulling up containing Malcolm and the kids. The three people jump in the jeep and Malcolm steps on the gas. The jeep moves forward toward the north dock where they can already see the boat in sight docking.
Suddenly a Spinosaurus comes crashing out of the foliage and roars at the people. Kathy and the kids scream. Malcolm swirves the car to the left and then right to keep away from the spino. The spino turns and gives chase to the fleeing vehicle. The animal gets very close to the jeep when suddenly the old female Tyrannosaurus came crashing out of the foliage after the spino gripping it's jaws around the smaller animals neck and then twists killing the animal instantly.
GRANT
"There's always a bigger dinosaur."
MALCOLM
"Hold on, we're going right onto the boat with the car. I don't want to risk having to get out just to be attacked again."
WU
"Good deal."
CUT TO:
IN: BOAT LEAVING ISLAND
Camera shows Robert sitting in a corner by himself looking out at the island with tears in his eyes. Kathy is shown walking toward Grant and Malcolm.
KATHY
"Poor kid. He has nothing now and I don't think it would be best if I adopted him."
MALCOLM
"Why's that?"
KATHY
"He'd have to move to Africa where my work is. I know he doesn't want to leave his friends and you guys."
MALCOLM
"What about his mother? Levine did get a div-"
GRANT
"You dont' know everything. Not many people did. The poor kids mom died last year. He's got no one now."
MALCOLM(sighing)
"There's something that God has yet to take from him."
GRANT
"What's that?"
MALCOLM(pointing to his son)
"He's still got Matt. They've been best friends for a long time now, and they consider themselves brothers. I guess everything's up to me."
GRANT
"Are you saying that you're going to adopt him?"
MALCOLM(smiling)
"Yes. I'll do it. Hold on and I'll tell him."
Malcolm walks away from Grant and Kathy and starts forward to Robert. He goes over to stand beside him as they both looked at the island of Isla Nublar as they went away from it.
MALCOLM(sighing)
"I know it's not going to help anything, but I'm sorry about your father."
ROBERT(sobbing)
"I can't believe my own dad's gone. First my mom and now this. I'm an orphan now. What's going to become of me."
MALCOLM
"You and Matt have always considered each other brothers and you really love and care for each other in that way. I'll adopt you if you'll allow me too."
ROBERT(wipping a tear from his right eye)
"Really?"
MALCOLM
"Well of course! Why wouldn't I? I've grown to know you well, and I really respect ya kid."
ROBERT(trying to smile a little)
"Thanks Ian. You're a really great person."
MALCOLM
"I know. Now go tell your brother the good news."
Robert does so and walks off toward Matt sitting in the corner staring at him as he walks forward. Malcolm returns to Grant and Kathy.
GRANT
"Well at least one of us can get along well with kids."
MALCOLM(laughing)
"Well that's true, but I just wish I could keep a wife for a long amount of time."
GRANT
"I'm sure that you and Sarah will spend the rest of your lives together."
MALCOLM
"I don't know. I mean I just desided to adopt Robert without asking her about it first."
GRANT(laughing)
"True, but she'll be ok with it."
MALCOLM
"Yeah, she's known Robert for as long as I have."
Suddenly the captain comes out of his quarters.
CAPTAIN
"Is there a Henry Wu here?"
WU
"That would be me. Why?"
CAPTAIN
"There's a call for you."
Wu walks into the cabin and and picks the phone up.
WU
"Hello?.....I yes, Tim how are you?.......You can't be serious......My God I can't believe it..........We'll be there as soon as the boat arrives."
Wu hangs the phone up and goes back to the open area with a look of disapointment on his face.
KATHY
"Henry, what's wrong?"
WU
"That was Tim Murphy. Apparently, Mr. Hammond died in his sleep last night."
KATHY
"Oh, my God."
GRANT(trying to hold back a smile)
"He's finally gone."
MALCOLM
"Just another proportion of Chaos Theory solved."
GRANT
"You and Chaos Theory. One of these days I'm going to take you Chaos Theory and shove it up your-"
WU
"Gentlemen! He said that the funeral will be in Costa Rica. In Hammond's will he said that he wanted to be baried on Isla Nublar, so the funeral will take place when we arrive."
GRANT(confused)
"He wants to be buried on Nublar?"
WU
"Yes, but don't worry, we'll burry him near the helipad where it's safest. Let's just get back to the mainland and we'll go over the details then."
CUT TO:
IN: FUNERAL HOME-DAY
Camera shows the funeral home with Hammond's body in the coffin and standing beside it is Lex and Tim Murphy crying as they look at the poor man's body.
Then Camera shows Ellie and Mark Deglar entering the main room of the building. They both walk up to Lex and Tim.
ELLIE
"I'm so sorry about what happened."
The two turn around and smile when they see Ellie. Lex hugs the woman.
LEX
"Thank you so much for coming."
ELLIE
"You're welcome. I had to be here for you in this very sad time. Oh, this is my husband Mark Deglar. Mark meet Lex and Tim Murphy."
TIM
"It's a pleasure to meet you sir."
MARK
"The pleasure is all mine. I've heard some interesting stories about what happened to the three of you on Jurassic Park all those years ago."
LEX
"So do you have any kids Ellie?"
ELLIE(smiling)
"Yes. I have two beautiful children. They're back at home with their aunt."
GRANT(from behind)
"That's too bad."
Ellie turns around and smiles.
ELLIE
"Alan! It's so good to see you still alive. I heard what happened."
GRANT
"Yeah I know. It's good to see you again Mark."
MARK
"Likewise."
MALCOLM
"Well isn't this a lovely little reunion."
ELLIE(shocked)
"Dr. Ian Malcolm!"
MALCOLM
"That's my name as sad as it may be."
ELLIE(laughing)
"You never change Ian. Hey Mark hunny this is Ian Malcolm."
MARK(shaking hands)
"I read your book awhile back. It was very thrilling."
MALCOLM(smiling)
"I'm glad to hear it."
GRANT
"You should've heard what a kid said about it."
MALCOLM
"What?"
GRANT
"Nevermind."
BILLY(from behind)
"Are you talking about me behind my back again?"
GRANT(turning around to hug the man)
"It's good to see you Billy. How was Paris?"
BILLY
"It was good. The only bad thing about it was the fact that Paul was very iritating."
GRANT(suddenly tense)
"They aren't here are they?"
BILLY(a little embaraced)
"I'm afraid so."
Billy turns around to point at the three kirdys. Paul and Amanda are standing together waving at Grant. He waves back but not whole heartedly. He sees Eric walking up toward him.
ERIC
"Hey Alan!"
GRANT
"Hey Eric! Did you enjoy Paris?"
ERIC(smiling)
"You bet I did! So did you consider what I asked before I left?"
GRANT(confused)
"Huh? Oh that! Yeah, and I desided that I'd love to take you as a padawon learner of Paleontology."
BILLY
"I thought I was your apprentice?"
KATHY(saddly)
"Not anymore."
BILLY
"What do you mean?"
KATHY
"Richard died on Nublar."
BILLY
"Nublar?"
GRANT
"We were just there. That's why we're all ruffed up."
BILLY
"So does that mean that I'm your second now?"
GRANT(Smiling)
"You bet!"
ROLAND
"I wish you bloody people wouldn't stand right in the middle of the doorway! You think you own the place or something?"
MALCOLM
"Roland Tembo? Never thought I'd see you here."
ROLAND
"I've got two more surprizes as well."
Suddenly Nick van Owen comes into the room followed by Kelly Malcolm.
MALCOLM(smiling)
"Kelly dear."
KELLY
"Hey dad."
MALCOLM(shaking Nick's hand)
"Good to see you again."
NICK
"I couldn't miss the death of Mr. God."
MALCOLM
"Same here."
SARAH
"Ian Malcolm you are in trouble!"
MALCOLM(turning around)
"Sarah hunny. I didn't know you'd be here."
SARAH
"Well I got an invitation and I thought you'd be here. I also wanted to make sure you were ok."
MALCOLM
"Well I am, and there's something that I need to talk to you about. It deals with Robert."
SARAH
"What's that?"
MALCOLM
"I'll tell ya later on our way home. Now let's just get settled over there with Matt and Robert."
SARAH(surprized)
"Matt's here!"
MALCOLM
"There's more that you don't know. I'll explain everything dear."
SARAH(angered)
"You better!"
Camera switches to a Priest standing beside Hammond's cofin.
PRIEST
"If you'd all please have a seat we can begin."
Everyone in the room begins to sit down in their seats in the funeral home. The Priest readies himself for the funneral as everyone is settling in.
PRIEST
"Death is a think that everyone hates to deal with, and this death is no exception, as the great man that you all knew to be called John Hammond passed away."
The Priest continues to ramble on to the people as Malcolm looks around very bored while everyone else seems to be entertained by the Priest's words.
Malcolm suddenly hears a small BUMP from outside. He looks around at everyone. No one else hears it, but him. Then another BUMP is heard. This time he notices Sarah's got a drinking glass by her feet and the water in the glass is making ripples in the water. Another BUMP this time much louder and the ripple once again appears. Malcolm stands up and looks at the light fixtures on the ceiling swaying back and forth. Then he realizes that everyone else is hearing the BUMPS. He starts for the front door with everyone else in persuit. He goes to the door and opens it suddenly seeing an adult Tyrannosaurus Rex walking toward the funneral home. It then notices the people and roars! Everyone in the building screams loudly.
