JP finished principle photography in 70 days, 12 days ahead of schedule. Considering Hurricane Ikiki swept through Kauai during the shoot and all but destroyed the sets, that's not too bad. (From: Dan J.)

    ******Prologue: The Adventure Gone Wrong******

Isla Nublar sat in the dark shadows of the of the clouds that sat above them keeping any and all sunlight from beaming down apon the beautiful island. Isla Nublar was 87 miles northeast of Isla Sorna, or Site B, which were the breading grounds for the animals on Jurassic Park. This island before you was the showroom for all of the monsterous animals that were contained on both islands of danger, darkness, and terror.

Kathy Gennaro pressed her face to the warm rock cliff, and paused to catch her breath. Kathy looked down at Diego Sanchez, twenty feet below her on the cliff face. Diego looks up and smiles.

"Have courage," Diego yelled from below her. "It is not far now, Senora."

"Don't worry about me," Kathy replied "I'm loving this!" Kathy raised her arms, fingers extending upward, reaching for the next handhold. She clung to the rock. She was still breathing hard. "It's just twenty meters more, Diego! You can make it!"

"I'm sure I can," Diego Replied "Considering the alternative."

As he neared the top of the cliff, the wind blew harder, tugging at his cloths. Looking up he saw Kathy waiting for him up there and the dense foliage that grew right to the edge of the cliff face. Then, with a final heave, he pushed himself over the top and collapsed, rolling in soft wet ferns. Still gasping, he looked around at the green folliage.

"Beautiful, isn't it," Kathy asked while scaning the area around her. She loved adventure. She was one of those types. She really loved just to get outdoors and see all there was to see. Even when she was a kid she enjoyed adventure so much she went on a tour of Africa with her family. That was one of the most enjoyable times in her life, and every year she went back just to see the locals and how they were doing. However, she was now in a place much different from Africa. She was at a place of new excitement and adventure. This was a place that she knew would have something that her and everyone else she knew would enjoy. This included her boyfriend whom was a Paleontologist himself. If what she heard was on this island was true, she knew that her boyfriend would jump at the chance to see this island.

"Yes, it is," Diego said with a bit of sarcasticness in his voice.

The two people started down the sloping hillside, away from the cliff. They were surrounded on all sides by dense jungle, and could see only a few yards ahead. At the top of the next ridge, there was a break in the foliage. From their vantage point, they were able to see to the far side of the island, a rim of hard black cliff, miles away. Between here and the cliffs they saw nothing but gently undulating jungle.

    "Fantastico," Diego said almost yelling.

Kathy shushed him. She didn't want any noise to be made until they knew what they were dealing with.

"But Senorita, we are alone here," Diego said.

At that moment, they heard a deep, rumbling sound. Then, a very loud roar. Kathy turned around when she heard Diego screaming as his body was hauled away, into the bushes. Diego struggled; the bushes shook fiercely; Kathy caught a glimpse of a single large foot, its middle toe bearing a short curving claw. Then the foot pulled back. The bushes continued to shake. She then glimpsed a large animal charging her. Kathy turned and fleed, feeling the adrenaline surge of pure panic. She felt a heavy weight suddenly tear at her backpack, forcing her to her knees in the mud, and she went crashing into the ground as the animal tore into the backpack.
