Chapter 5: Two Teams/One Destination
Alan Grant lay with the two kids cleaning a skeleton in the ground when a vehicle pulled up to the site. The three got up. Levine, Wu, and Malcolm then jump out of the jeep and start walking in the other people's direction. Vito smiled and ran over to Levine.
"Vito," Levine yelled as his son ran into his arms. "How have you been?"
"Well, I'm great now," Vito said as he hugged his father.
"Dr. Alan Grant," Wu said shaking hands with the man he hadn't seen for years.
Henry Wu, long time no see," Grant said. He turned toward Malcolm and shook his hand. "Hello Ian. Nice to see you again. It's a Jurassic Park reunion looks like. Too bad Mr. God couldn't join us.
Malcolm shivers at the sound of another voice that entered Malcolm's head. This time it was from Grant, "How can you recreat an intact DNA strand?" Malcolm shock it away and smiled.
"Alan, we need to discuss something," Levine said in a serious tone.
Richard Levine and Alan Grant were inside the trailer. Grant was looking out the window at Malcolm, Wu, Matt and Vito as Malcolm tried to explain Chaos Theory to the two kids. Grant smiled and laughed. It looked like things hadn't changed.
"Has Billy called recently," Levine asked.
"Nope," Grant replied. "He must be having a great time in Paris with the Kirby's. I don't see why though. The Kirby's are a very strange family."
"I'm going with Dr. Malcolm and Dr. Wu to Isla Nublar," Levine said laughing at Grant's comment on the Kirby's. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in joining us?
"You know good and well that I can't go back to that island or Sorna again," Grant replied shaking his head. "I wouldn't be able to stand the pressure. Hell I almost died when I was on Sorna looking for Eric."
"Kathy is on that island and Lewis Dodgson is going there to more then likely do the same thing that InGen did in 1997," Levine implied. "You know as well as I do that Dodgson must be stopped. Please Alan, help me."
"I can't," Grant replied shaking his head. "I just can't."
"Please, Alan," Levine pleaded. "I know that you don't like the idea of doing this but my girlfriend is in danger. I know that you don't want something like the San Diego Incident happening again either. That's why Dr. Malcolm is helping. Are you going to let someone like Ian Malcolm show you up and be more heroic. Please help me."
"I hope this girlfriend of yours is worth this trouble, cause if she's not I'm going to have your head on a plater," Grant replied sighing.
"Well at least your not the first person to threaten me today," Levine said. "I feel loved. Thank you Alan. You won't regrete this."
"Let's hope to God I don't," Grant replied.
"Ok, ok," Levine said trying to shush him. "I understand what your talking about. We're going to a Field Equipment place to see if a man named Jack Thorne can help us. I've got to take Vito and Matt both so Matt's mother can pick them up. I know that they don't need to be on this trip at all."
"No one needs to be on this trip, Richard," Grant replied. He feared the worst.
A boat could be seen as it was moving towards two people standing
by waiting for it to come. Lewis Dodgson stood next to George Baselton. Dodgson looks at the luggage.
"Well, you pack lightly," Dodgson yelled sarcasticaly over the sound of the very loud approaching boat."
"Yeah, very funny," Baselton said annoyed at the man standing beside him. Baselton had worked with Dodgson at the Biosyn Corporation for years and still to this day hated his guts. Baselton was a Philosopher that didn't care about anyone, but himself and that was the truth.
"Where's everyone," Dodgson asked looking around curiously. "I told those people to be here on time!"
"Right there," Baselton replied pointing.
Howard King, Ed James, Bob Morris, Manuel Cross, Carlos Lopez, and Ramon Sawyers were walking in the two men's direction on the boat dock. They were all carrying several bags more then likely full of weopons.
"That's our people," Dodgson asked in a loud fasion.
"Yep," Baselton replied.
The boat stopped in front of them and the six people ran up to Baselton and Dodgson.
"Hey George, you have anything to eat," King asked still walking toward them.
"Nope, but the boat will serve when we get on," Baselton replied.
Howard King sat his luggage down.
"Boy, I can't wait to get there," King said smelling the warm salty air.
"Do you have any knowledge of where we're going," Dodgson asked annoyed by King's cheerfulness.
"Ofcourse," King replied smiling. "We're going to Jurassic Park!"
"Good," Dodgson said smiling and rubbing his hands together.
Suddenly the sound of the boat captian was heard from the distance, "Everybody aboard!"
"I guess we're ready to go," Dodgson said. "I can't wait to finally have the InGen technology."
Thorne's Mobile Field Systems was in pure Chaos from all of the electrical work being done on vehicles and other devices in the building. Jack Thorne was running around yelling at the people working on equipment.
"Come on people," Thorne ordered. "Let's get this stuff done. Carlos! You can't place that strut latterally. It has to be crosswise, for strength. Look at the plans! Hey! Hunter and Ray! Ground it! Ground it! How many times do I have to tell you to ground it before you start working on it! We've got serious voltage here, guys! You're going to get fried if you're not careful!"
Grant, Malcolm, Levine, Wu, Matt, and Vito then entered the building. Thorne walked up to them wondering who these new visitors were.
"Hello, Dr. Thorne," Levine said shaking Thorne's hand. "I'm Richard Levine we talked on the phone--"
"Yes, It's good to meet you," Thorne replied shaking hands with everyone in the group.
"Can you help us," Levine asked.
"Yes I believe so," Thorne replied. "I have some supplies and two jeeps to help you. If you like I'll go with you to work the equipment."
"Fine with me," Levine replied. "We need as much help as possible. Let's get everything together and move out."
