Jurassic Park made obscure dinosaurs like Velociraptor and Dilophosaurus household names. The newfound fame attracted marketers to the dinosaur money train, inspiring new basketball teams (the Toronto Raptors), and useless spin-off products such as the Meanie Babies' "Velocicrapper". Return to Nublar part 4
    By SpinoSlayer

As night fell the third night on the island a large, terrible, almost mechanical roar was heard throughout the jungle. All the scientists and workers sat up, looked around and reached for their guns. And a sound of thumping footsteps was heard drawing nearer.

    'What's that?' someone asked.

As the sound of footsteps stopped the air was filled with the sounds of guns loading and cocking. The creature's silloete was highlighted against the moon.

Someone fired a flare gun and the bright red flame shown upon the creature. The dinosaur roared. While it was only about 30 feet long and much smaller than the T-rex, it could still mutilate a man very quickly.

As it ran foward the guns oppened fire in the night. The entire clearing was alit with gunfire. The creature charged very quickly. Now people could catch a glimphs of the dinosaur. The head was 3 feet long with a row of razor sharp teeth, and it was pointed at a man.

The beast leapt at a group of scientists and in swinging its head it knocked four men over. It leapt feet first on two of the men, crushing one instantly. The dinosaur, with a ridged back and crests above its eyes, lowered its red lit head to crush the survivor. It feasted on their remains while the others ran to safty.

It was at this time that a second ridge back ran into the clearing from the opposite end, snatching up a screaming man. The ones below him watched in horror as the beast shook the helpless victem and used its Allosaur sized arms to rip off the man's dangling legs.

As some watched the gore dumfoundedly, the other men shot the hell out of the side and neck of the first beast. As the dinosaur lifted its head to roar it was shot in the jaw and the throat.

'What dinosaurs are these?' Carlos asked a nearby scientist.

'It's...it's...' he said studing the creature until it came to him, 'it's a Metricanthosaurus!' he said.

'Metricanthosaurus? Oh yeah! those embryos! It was the forgotten, smaller meat-eater not viewed by Grant or Malcolm.'

Ryan pulled out an antique, 8 gauge, double-barreled Elephant Gun. As he fired the deafening weapon he fell on his ass.

A huge gash ripped through the Metricanthosaur's neck. As he got up, fired again, and fell on his ass, the blast blew through the roof of the roaring mouth.

As blood streamed out between the teeth, it stumbled and fell on a very large, pointy rock to his right. He fell and his ribs and back were cracked and people rushed over and shot several shots into the eye.

The other Metricanthosaurus was badly wounded and roared as it limped away. The men cheered but the cheering was cut short as the people began to realise how horrible the strike had been. Three mens' mangled bodies and limbs were strewn across the ground.

Even as the flares burnt out and flashlights were pulled out, the ground still was splattered with the same horrible shade of red. The blood was everywhere. It had completely covered some mens' sides and fronts. As they searched in the early hours of the night, they found legs or arms fifty feet away from where the dinosaurs had attacked. These limbs were not carried from the site of the attack, but shaken and thrown.

It would take all night to bag up the remains of the three unfortunate people and the dead Metricanthosaurus.
