    Return to Nublar: part III
    By SpinoSlayer

    --Midnight--

'How the hell can animals still be on the island after two years? It just dosen't add up!' said Mark Phillips.

'If there are any answers we will find them at the visitor's center,' said Ryan 'we will go there at dawn. We will have to inform InGen of the death of Sander Mayburn.

    --12:30-InGen--

'Mr.Hammond, something has happened on the island.'

    'No! Not Site B!'

    'Site B?'

'I mean Nublar! What's happened?' John Hammond said. He was clearly much older and frailer than when Grant and Malcolm were at the accident in the Park. He needed some help getting up and to the phone. On the other end was Ryan and Mark.

    'Mr.Hammond...we're on the island.'

'Is everyone all right?' Hammond knew that all the dinosaurs were dead. No satalite photos showed any sign of Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, or Brachiosaurus. Yet, he could not shake off a dreadful feeling in the back of his mind...

'...No...someone died...Sander Mayburn was killed by a pack of Dilophosaurs.'

    'Goddamnit! No! Not again!'

'Several others are injured...we're camping out on the beach tonight'

'Remember InGen is in finacial trobles, any shit of any kind could destroy us.'

'Yes...I know...this satalite phone is too damn expensive and it dosen't even work as well as a normal phone!'

'Remember your job Ryan, that goes for you too Mark, clean up the embryos and the computer files. The Park runs on geothermal power and should still work. We spared no expense...' With that the conversation ended.

'Well let's get some sleep and get to it tomorrow.' Then he fell into a deep, dreadful sleep full of serrated carnivore teeth, severed limbs, and screaming heads.

    --4:30--

It was this time when the mysterious Seth Loman and his assitants camp back to the camp. They took out the pillows from their sleeping bags and went to sleep.

    --7:30--

'Alright men! Beauty sleep time is over! Get up and move on.'

    'Yeah...yeah...Ryan...'

It was just then when a pair of morning men yelled out to the group from beyond the brush. 'Hey! you might want to take a look at this!' As the group did their morning checks and communicay to InGen, the pair of hunters came back to the tents.

    'We found a corpse!'

    'A human?'

'No, something much larger, but with four legs.'

The refreshed group went into the clearing of palm trees and saw a large pile of bones, with some green flesh still attached, rotting in the bright sun.

'Jesus. What could have done this?' Carlos asked a scientist.

'The wounds are much too small to be from a Tyrannosaurus.' He measured the bite radius and said, 'All three raptors were killed by the Tyrannosaurus and a recent satalite photo showed a dead T-rex. We think she died of disease. The whole herd of Dilophosaurus could not have done this, and it wasn't a Gallimimus either!' Perplexed, the scientists stood over the strewn limbs of the Stegosaurus and after several smelly minutes they came to a conclusion.

'The animal died only a week ago, at most. The Tyrannosaurus has died. The raptors are also dead so that rules them out. A whole herd of Dilophosaurs could not inflict this much damage in a week. Compys finding this corpse could not be possible. The wounds are not from a flying beak and claws of a Pteranodon. And I know there is not an Allosaurus or a Ceratosaurus on this island. So we are left with Dilophosaurs and InGen's mystery preditor.'

'Could it be that aquatic super-preditor I've heard about?'

'I don't know, but we must move quickly, our friend may be hungry. We'll make for the Rialto Mingas Pass at noon.' barked Ryan.
