JURASSIC PARK: INFINITY
Chapter 1: Opening night.
"Twenty three minutes," Dr. Grant began. "Twenty three minutes until all our work will pay off." He continued. The crowd of staff stood around him eagerly awaiting his toast. They all carried champagne glasses and were full of excitement. "Today Jurassic Park will become a part of history. Not just a park... THE park. It took us twelve years to do this and I'll be damned if this fails!" Grant said enthusiastically.
"Here, Here! Doctor Alan Grant everyone!" John hammond said clapping his hands.
"Thank you John." Alan said as the crowd began clapping. John said something, but Grant didn't catch it.
He turned and walked gradually up the stairs to Dr. Sattler.
"Alan, you were great." She said.
Alan just nodded and walked to the large windowsill. Outside, crowds gathered near the cages in awe. Grant saw the arriving helicopters lights and smiled. The sky was darkening and the fireworks were about to begin.
"Ellie?" He began.
"Yes?" Ellie said, taking her eyes off the people.
"Do you think this park is safe? I mean..." Alan said in a sad tone.
"Of couse it is Alan! I would bet my life on it." Ellie joked.
Suddenly they sky light up as tthe fire works began. Alan stood up and walked onto the porch. Ellie followed.
"Ray says the animals are getting rowdy because of all the people. I just don't want anything to happen to Tim and Lex. John loves them so much and, well... Lord knows that if the animals got loose they'd-" suddenly he was intterupted by a kiss from Ellie.
The crowds cheered for John Hammond as he began his speech. Ian Malcome sat on a bench near the restrooms. He looked around the area a bit. He took a sip of his cola and smiled.
"Friggin' Dinosaurs. Who in hell wouldn't want to see living dinosaurs?" He said to himself.
Just then Hammond finished his speech and the fireworks began. Ian hated fireworks so he go up and left for the hotel. Suddenly there was a scream from down the path. Malcome began to run towards it. He rounded the bend and saw nothing. He shrugged it off. Then someone screamed again, this time deep in the woods. Ian thought about getting help... but he was already running.
Tim ran down the path, away from Lex. she was fast, but not fast enough. She bounded towards him like a rabid dog. Tim jumped down the hill and into the woods. Lex missed him and screamed in frustration, then followed him into the brush. Tim came to a fence, one of the electrical ones. He looked around a bit. He could hear Lex scream in anger again. She was closer. Tim did what his mind told him to: CLIMB. Up he went until he was above the fence.
Lex came to the fence and snorted.
"Where are you! Come show yourself, LOSER!!" She screamed.
Tim snickered from up above causing Lex to look up. There he was... on a branch in a tall tree.
"You want your hat back? Hmmm?" Tim said holding out a JP hat.
Lex just roared and began to climb after Tim. She was on the branch below his in seconds, trying to grab his legs. Tim just scootched back further.
"Ha! Watchout!" Tim said as he shook the hat a bit to anger her.
Lex jumped up onto the branch and crawled closer to him. She swung her arm to grab the hat. Tim scootched back and.. CRAAACK. The branch shook. Tim held the branch with his hands as he fell... well almost. He hung there with Lex screaming for help. He looked down: the cage was right under him! He would be trapped in the enclosure if he fell.
Ian came to the fence in time to see the two kids tumble into the cage. He heard her trying to get help and then he heard "TIM! NO! DON'T TRY TO MOVE!" He then saw the two kids fall to the ground. The girl must have been trying to help him up or something.
"Kids?! Hey! Are you ok?" Ian said as he ran to the fence.
