Deadly Alliances ( Disc 1 Chapter 2)

Chapter 2
After eating lunch, Seth had decided to go home. His car stopped at a house in the suburbs. Seth had an old-fashioned house that seemed to have survived all the years since the older days. Seth wondered how things have changed since then. He had read about the times in school. Seth now took a glance toward the pond across the street. It was where he always read his books. It gave him a sense of peace. He loved this area. Everything else was too damn new compared to his home and he loved it. He walked up to his house and unlocked the door with his laser-key. The laser was like a laser we see at toy stores, accept it was focused with a chip that opened specified doors. The buttons were also sensitized so that only the owner can use it. Any thief would not be able to push the button. Seth walked into the house, which had 2 stories and 3 bedrooms. The kitchen was located near the dining room on the first floor and his bedroom was on the second floor. The garage was to the left of the house. The car had auto-parked itself there by now. The room in which he was in now, the living room had a television next to the window looking out onto the pond. A chair was situated directly in front of the television. It was most interesting to see his house after 2 months out. Seth laid the folder on a nearby table and went into his bedroom. There he changed into shorts and a t-shirt. His bedroom was quite nice. There were 2 windows, one facing his back yard, which looked larger than it’s size. And the other looked out onto the neighbor’s house. The windows had beautiful sea colored curtains. His bed was near that window. A night table was set beside the bed and had a lamp. Another television was set in front of the bed so he could watch a show before nodding off. Seth sat on his bed for a minute. He took a glance around the room. Everything seemed to be in place. He then took a bag out from under his bed. It was something interesting. He took an object out of the bag. It was a bit of a hat. Little wires whirled around the helmet like item. He put it on his head and lay down. He fell asleep just a second later.
A dark night. The skyscrapers of the city are tall. 3 cop cars are on patrol. Maria Martin wore her police uniform quite well. She was one of the prettiest policewomen on the squad. Standing at 5ft6, 125lbs, with blonde hair, she was absolutely gorgeous. Her partner tonight was Chris Cline. Chris was one of her elderly workers. He tended to help her out on patrols like these. They were looking for someone. Their police car was like the ones we usually saw on the streets of the 1990s. But tonight was a bit stressful. Maria was looking for a criminal. She glanced down at the streets. At night the lampposts showed the streets quite brightly. Buildings caused the areas of shadow. The buildings, she noticed were too modern for her taste. She liked old-fashioned homes like the one her boyfriend Seth had.
“ Not too much happening,” her partner Chris said.
“ No. It’s making me nervous,” she replied. Chris glanced at her.
“ He hasn’t proposed has he?” Chris asked. She blushed just a bit.
“ Oh. When’s the special day?” he asked her with a smile.
“ Within a year today,” she replied.
The 2 squad cars piloted through a turn when a rocket shot right at them. It was headed right toward the bottom car. Luckily Maria caught sight of it and dodged to the left. The rocket shot past them and exploded, knocking the squad cars around a bit with the shockwave from the detonation.
“ That came from Kentra Bank!” a voice boomed over the radio speaker.
“ Lock and load,” Maria commanded. The guns appeared from the front of the squad cars and they fired plasma shots. Another rocket shot right toward them. This time it went right above them and shot into a building. The rubble from the explosion hit the cars relentlessly. One of them hit the back window causing it to dent inward on Maria’s car.
“ We’re not hitting this guy,” she said.
“ Or guys,” Chris replied. He typed in some keys. He tried to identify the shooter. Nothing was coming up.
“ He may have a dodger device,” Chris commented. A dodger device was simply a device that kept you from being identified by a cop car’s radar. Suddenly a rocket went right for the top car. It was a direct shot toward the car; no way they could dodge it in time…
Seth woke up with a start. He took a glance at his watch. It was 9:00 in the morning. He had sleep the entire afternoon and night away. He took the device off, got out of bed and went into his bathroom. The sink, toilet and shower were automated. Whenever he took a shower, he just got naked, walked in, and the shower would automatically start. The sink was the same way, he’d put something under the faucet and it’d start. The toilet was the same. It had a visual aid. The aid knew when he was finished and it auto-flushed. Seth took his hands under the faucet and washed his face. He looked at himself in the mirror. The mirror formed a small face at the bottom.
“ You look freaky,” said the mirror.
“ I look freaky too,” Seth replied.
“ Having those nightmares again?” the mirror asked.
“ As always,” Seth replied.
“ Maybe you should stop using that one device. It can give people terrible nightmares,” the mirror suggested.
“ Since when did you become a psychiatrist?” Seth asked.
“ Since I was installed,” the mirror said jokingly.
“ Since you’re A.I, take care of the house for me using the droid. I’ll be gone again,” Seth said.
“ Another mission?” the mirror asked.
“ This is the one. I feel it. I’m working with him Androy,” said Seth.
“ I hope you don’t lose your mind then,” Androy said.
“ He deserves what he gets,” Seth commented.
“ And why don’t you take the droid with you?” Androy asked.
“ She is a house droid, not a risk taker,” Seth answered.
“ Very well,” said Androy. Seth then got clothes for the day, got undressed, and took a quick shower. Afterward Seth ate some breakfast in the dining room. He was ready for a brand new day. It was time to find someone who can help him get into a gang. Seth grabbed his hat, laser-key, and walked out of the door. He clicked a button on his laser-key and the car pulled out to the front of the house. He got into the car.
“ Jay’s Fast Cash shop. 45mph,” Seth said. The car began to rise into the air and then sped off toward the place.
