    Raptor Pack REAL Chapter5!
    By RaptorClaw

    Day 4

While Jake, Mack, Diego, and the now deceased Bobby sped in their Hummer, Nick, Laura, her brother, Derek, and the mechanic, Jake, took the hovercraft out towards the beach near base.

The hovercraft zipped quickly over the beach. Golden yellow sand whipped out from under it. “A perfect day,” thought Nick, smiling to himself as he stuck out of the top of the craft. Holding on to the sides were Derek and Fred, some guy who was apparently good with machinery. He had done most of the repairs on the InGen outpost they now called ’home’. That was when it happened. A huge crocodilian like creature burst out of the jungle. At least forty-five feet long, it was a giant terror. Goldish brown with touches of gray, he quickly chased after the group. He had an odd sail on his back, and long, three-fingered arms. He snout looked just like a crocodiles, a forty-five foot long crocodile, that is.
“Go fast, Now!!!!” Nick yelled at Laura, pushing the hovercraft to it’s limits. But the animals legs were so long, he kept right up with them. The jet black hovercraft couldn’t escape. It’s two blue propellers spun madly, like a fan on a hot day. But it couldn’t get a lead on the dinosaur. Suddenly Nick had an idea. He told Laura to turn to the water, figuring the animal would leave them.
“But-” she objected, but all he said was “GO!” She wanted to tell him the animal that was following them could probably swim. The hovercraft flew off a small cliff and into the sea with a loud splash, spraying dark blue ocean water in all directions. Nick looked back. No finned animal. No crocodilian beast. No golden dinosaur trying to eat them. He smiled. “We must of lost it!” he thought happily. Suddenly the hovercraft lurched, as though it had hit something, or something ad hit it. Nick turned around. All he saw was a puzzled Derek, scratching his head. Nick thought hard. “What the-” he wondered. Only then did he realize what was wrong with the picture. All he saw was a startled Derek. ALL he saw was a startled Derek. No Fred. No Fred. He looked back, just in case his eyes had been playing tricks on him. Nope. No Fred. Derek made a scared face. A huge golden claw ripped out of the water and crashed down on Derek’s surprised body. With such force, Nick thought the ship would sink. The claw drug the poor kid into the water, completely helpless. It reached down to snatch the body when an electric current slammed into the side of his head. The Spinosaurus looked up. Standing there was an enraged Nick, gun pointing toward the thing. But the gun wasn’t powerful enough to knock him out. Roaring, the creature grabbed the air-filled part of the ship. Then he threw all his weight on it. And with a sweep f his claw, cut out a big chunk. He then pushed into the water.
“He’s sinking us!” Nick realized, as Laura pulled her blood soaked brother into the now sinking hovercraft. Derek was badly injured, as he slumped right to the floor of the pilots area. Nick slammed the Pilots hatch shut, sealing them in. As the three sat silently, the once proud hovercraft slid under the waves and into the depths of the sea...

“C’mon Mack, can’t this go any faster, were almost there!” Yelled Jake. Mack pushed his foot down as hard as he could. Then the Raptors stopped. They slowly shuffled back into the dense jungle. The InGen compound was dead ahead, they knew they couldn’t reach the humans in there. Not now, at least. Mack parked the hummer in a metal garage and walked inside to the old InGen compound. Most of the plants were cut away, most of the equipment was working. It looked pretty nice in there. Kyle handed Jake a paper, keeping his eyes on the computer. The paper said:
    Survivors:
    Jake
    Nick
    Kyle
    Laura
    Derek
    Bobby
    Fred
    Mack
    Diego
    Peter
    Terrence
    Jason
    Jody

The last name Jake didn’t recognize, but he didn’t know everyone there, after all. Sadly, he picked up a marker and crossed off Bobby. Kyle glanced at the paper and sighed.
“So where’s the hover-crew?” Asked Jake.
“We uh....well our last transmission said they were here.” Kyle said pointing to the map.
“That’s in water.” Kyle flipped a switch on a radio. It was the last transmission they recieved.
“Mayday mayday, this is the hovercraft, uh, the uh, the Runner. We’ve been attacked by something, and we are sinking, repeat, we are sinking. Oh no, here it comes ag!----” Jake sat silently. There last transmission.... Jake walked out the door.
“Where are you going?” called Kyle.
    “To think up a plan.”

Laura suddenly sat up. “Spinosaurus aegypticus!” she cried.
    “Um, what’s a spiny-spina-spinosaurus aegypty-uh-yeah.” asked Nick.
“A large theropod with a fin on its back. Had a crocodilian snout and long arms.”
    “Sounds like our friend.”
“That’s because it is.” She sighed and looked in the corner. Her brother laid there, staring at the ground. They weren’t sure if he would make it. There only hope was the others would find them in time. They sat in the leaking hull of the Runner. If you haven’t guessed, the Runner is the hovercraft. Laura guessed they were maybe one hundred feet down, at least, and with the rough seas of Isla Sorna, it would be hard to save them. She sat back.
“Do you think there really is a pack of hyper-intelligent velociraptors on this island?” she asked, almost completely changing the subject.
“Dunno,” Nick replied. “Maybe. Didn’t Alan Grant say the ones he saw could talk to each other?”
“That’s what I heard.” Nick thought a moment.
“Then, maybe some of them got really smart on the last few years.”
“It’s possible. But that’s a pretty big jump from talking to human intelligence. It’s as though..” she stopped. “It’s like the hyper ones were smarter than the others from the start. But that couldn’t be right. Could it?”
“I don’t know.” Nick said, shaking his head. “I just don’t know......”

Scout ran up to another Raptor. He barked a few short notes and some long. He was saying a Spinosaurus had taken down a human craft. Knowing humans, it was likely they would try to save them. An excellent time for an attack. The humans would be surprised, and the Raptors could overtake them easily. They would take three directions, so as they would confuse the humans and attack every last one. The older Raptor ordered Scout to watch the crash site while the Matriarch (someone we humans and “inferior packs” would refer to as the Alpha Female Raptor) rounded up the troops for the largest assault ever staged against human beings on the island of Isla Sorna, Site-B...

“Looks like a storm is blowing in.” said Kyle, staring at a computer screen. “Only a little tropical one, coming in from the northwest, and it‘ll be a few days before it hits here, but we should get prepared. Jake nodded. Him, Mack, and Diego were to raise the crew of the Runner using the Mosozaur, their mini-submarine, while Peter, Terrence, and Jeremy were to scout around to make sure no dinosaurs attacked. Kyle and Jody were to stay behind. Everything was ready. Everything was perfect. Nothing could go wrong. Absolutely nothing. Who could believe in a matter of days, they would be fighting for their lives against an entire pack of enraged Velociraptors with very mysterious origins and hyper-intelligent minds..
