    Day 4

The hummer raced easily through the dense jungle. Knocking down ferns and small to medium plants with relative ease, Jake wondered if Mack was really paying attention to the path (which there really wasn‘t any) or simply enjoying the feel of racing an armored vehicle through the dinosaur infested forest. Jake sat beside him in the passenger seat leaning back with his eyes closed. Behind Mack was his best friend, Diego, staring out the window and next to him Bobby, an annoying man if Jake ever saw one, continuously complaining.
“Why can’t you just let me stay at base?“ he demanded. Jake was really sick of him. He didn’t even understand why Bobby had come on the trip to Isla Sorna in the first place. Mack and Diego were another puzzle, they were excellent hunters, and exactly why they where on this expedition in the first place Jake didn’t know. He wondered if for some reason, InGen wanted live specimens brought back. But hadn’t they learned their lesson at the San Diego incident? Mack suddenly hit the brakes.
“Why in the world did you stop?” questioned Jake, bewildered. For all they knew, a tyrannosaur was following them.
“Look head.” Mack muttered quietly. Just ahead was a fully-grown, female Velociraptor. White with black markings, she was an awesome creature. They watched her cautiously from the greenish-black hummer. Strangely, although she was only maybe fifteen feet away, she didn’t seem to notice them. Bobby and Diego slowly got out of the hummer, but keeping one leg in. The female swished her tail loudly whipping at some ferns. Unknown to them, two male raptors were crawling on their bellies and had bit the tires again and again until they slowly started to leak out air. Diego looked back.
“Holy..!” The Raptors, realizing they had been spotted, got up, and in the blink of an eye pounced on Diego. Diego managed to kick them off after struggling for a moment, and then jumped into the hummer, slamming the door shut. The Raptors now turned their attention to Bobby, too stunned to move. A bad mistake. Jake slammed his foot on Mack’s as hard as he could, flooring the gas. Bobby leaped for the hummer, but ultimately missed it. The two Raptors pounced and ripped him to shreds. Jake winced.
“Faster Mack, FASTER!!!!!!!” screamed Diego, staring at the raptors, two males and the female, gaining on them. But the flat tire slowed them waaaay down, and the thick growing plants made it even harder. They heard a sound on the roof. A fourth raptor had just leaped on it, and was proceeding to try to break through. Now seven more raptors started the chase, as they sped into a muddy ditch. Jake did the one thing that seemed natural. Grabbing a tazer pistol out of the large black suitcase in the back seat. He glanced at Diego. He seemed okay, aside for several slashes, but those would heal. He tossed a gun to him.
“You know what to do,” said Jake calmly. Diego only nodded. Leaning out the window, they fired onto the chasing Raptors. They did their best, but there was mud flying everywhere and the hummer kept hitting bumps. Shots flew all over the place. Then they hit one. Blue electricity shot through the Raptor fast as lighting. He dropped to the ground, unconscious. They continued firing, but Jake wondered if they could shoot down all the animals before the Raptors reached them.
Suddenly the Hummer slammed to a stop.
    “What happened?!” yelled Diego.
“Uh, mucho grande problemo senior!” muttered Mack.
    “What? You numbskull, speak English!”
“Big problem!” Jake looked around. They had fallen into some kind of hole. Hole?
“They drove us into the hole,” Jake whispered. “It was a trap from the start.”
“Hole? A trap? Can they DO that?” Asked Mack.
“I didn’t think so...” replied Diego nervously. The raptors began to surround the Hummer.
    “Now what, Mack?”
“We get outta here, that’s what.”
“And just how do you propose we do that?”
Like this.” Mack slammed on the pedal and flicked some switch. Suddenly, they began to pull out of the hole. It really wasn’t that deep. The raptors tried to jump on but quickly fell back off. Mack, once again, floored the gas, and they sped off, trying madly to lose the raptors.
“Keep firing! Entering game trail!” Shouted Mack. he wasn’t kidding. The hummer was now on a beaten path.
“The path is dusty and dry.” Jake said, as if he were oblivious to the fact they were being chased by bipedal reptiles.
    “Yeah, so what?” asked Diego.
“It’s a sign of drought. But this is supposed to be the rainy season.”
“So... it hasn’t rained and it’s very dry... which means the animals will be stressed and aggressive!”
    “Exactly.”
“Well, that’s nice and all, but, uh, shoot ‘em anyways!” The raptors hadn’t lost ground. Jake and Diego fired away, as fast as they could towards the raptors.
“Keep driving, now that it’s flat out here, we should have the advantage!:
“Yeah, but the tire! It’s still flat!”
“Still we should be- ohhhhh crap...” Jake only stared as they began to come up to a giant herd of animals, grouped together. Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, Diplodocus, Parasauralophus, Triceratops, Edmontosaurus, that’s just a few.”
“You don’t think the raptors... drove us here on purpose?” Although Diego didn’t say it, Jake knew what he meant. The raptors drove them into the herd to make it more difficult to go straight and fast.
“It’s okay, man,” Mack smiled, “I got myself a plan!” He slammed on the brakes. WHAM! The raptors had been running as fast as they could, and when he hit the brakes...
“Perfecto!” laughed Diego. Every raptor was out cold. “Now let’s get outta here before they wake up!”
