    Blade: Primal Ch.3
    By Powerhouse

Like always, I reccomend skimming the first two chapters, but you can still enjoy this chapter without that.

Deacon leaned back in his leather chair in his New York apartment. In his hands, he impatiently clicked a pen. His feet were proped on his desk. Across the desk stood Milo and Pietro, heads bowed as a sign of respect.
"So, you've got the DNA structure for a perfect soldier?" he asked nonchalantly.
"Well, um, yes sir. They will be completely invincible once this plan comes together. You were a very important key. First, we needed a fresh sample of what we scientists call "perfect blood." It has only been seen in members of La Magra's Army, like yourself." Pietro paused and held up a small vial that contained a sample of Frost's blood that they had just taken.
Pietro continued," And, we also hoped that the fact "perfect blood" usually has instant duplication would allow for any sample of our finalized soldier DNA to duplicate on its own, thus disregarding the need for a DNA synthesizer. But there is where the problem is, sir."
"What problem," Deacon asked softly, staring at the ceiling.
"Well," Pietro started," it appears that something has contaminated your DNA, most likely whatever substance it was that Blade injected you with three years ago in the temple. This contamination not only makes it impossible for us to manufacture soldier DNA without a synthesizer, but it takes away your complete "invuerability" you had when you first became a member of The Army. Now, while you strength and durability is still much greater than the strongest of vampire's alive today, you can be killed. A stake to the heart wouldn't kill you, but you would be vulnerable to futher attack."
Deacon spoke, "Okay, so we need this synthesizer. And where do you suppose we get one of these?"
"The only known one to exist anywhere that we could get into is an experimental military base in Virginia. The base is guarded but it shouldn't be anything you cannot handle," Milo informed Deacon.
    "Alright," Deacon sighed,"Let's go."

The security guard leaned forward in his chair, bringing his face as close as he could to the monitor, staring into the dark night lit only by the soft security lights. Someone was outside the base, sneaking around the back entrance. Someone...wait...there were more of them. At least four by his count. He grabbed the intercom and phoned the front desk.
"Hello," he stammered, "We have a code eight. I repeat code eight. There are unknown subjects outside of entrace D of the base. Send a squad over here. There are many of them."
As the guard spoke, the squad was making its way around to the back. The guard could now see them in the center of his monitor. They were armed with the classic military M-16 and wearing the usual brown camoflauge attire. They scanned the area, weapons raised.
In the corner of the screen, the guard could see movement. Four figures, dressed in black, armed with intimidating firearms. Then, in the other corner, another six figures in the same outfits appeared. They began to encircle the military squad and the squad didn't have a clue.
In an instant, the night was lit by gunfire. The squad was caught offguard. Military men fell rapidly, and the ones left standing crouched and returned fire. Their counterattack didn't last long, and the squad's final member was killed. The ten intruders walked up to the bodies and picked them up. What they did next amazed the security guard. They bit the dead military men in the neck, paused there, and tossed the men to the side. The group walk to the entrance of the bunker and out of view of the camera
For a few moments, the security guard waited tensly, listening. Suddenly, an explosion rocked the base. He was thrown out of his chair and to the ground. The steel door of the base was ripped off and smoked filled the room. The room was on fire and quickly becoming unrecognizable. For fear of his life, the guard jumped up and ran from the security room to the hallway. Everything was thrown from it original position. Chairs were on their sides and tables were cracked from the immense force of the blast.
From the flaming remains of the security room, the group of attackers approached the guard. The lead man walked up to him and grabbed his throat. The guard was frozen with fear. He looked at the group of attackers; each had blood covering their mouth and chin. Pulling him more closely, the lead man spoke.
"I only need one thing," Deacon said, grasping the guards neck, "where is the DNA synthesizer. And don't give me any lies, because I will kill you before you even know it."
The guard shook with fear. "The...the lab," he whispered, pointing to a room down the hall. Deacon dragged the guard with him as he and his followers entered the lab.
Inside, the lab was a mess. Broken containers covered the floor. Some spots of the walls were aflame. Equipment was strewn everywhere.
"Where is it," Deacon demanded. The guard pointed to the corner of the room. Deacon dragged the man to a lump of tristed metal and broken glass.
"That's it, or what's left of it," said the guard. The DNA synthesizer was destroyed. The blast threw it from its original spot and sent it slamming against a wall and then to the floor.
Deacon stared at the ruins in disbelief. "Ok, just great. So, you tell me where I can get another one," Deacon said, tightening his grip on the guard's neck.
For a minute the guard thought to himself as his brain received less and less oxygen. "There is only one other place on the entire planet that has a working model of this. And you know where that is," the guard squeezed out of his blue face.
    "WHERE!?" Deacon demanded.
The guard wheezed and coughed, struggling for air. Finally he passed out.
In a rage, Deacon bit his neck, sucked forcefully, and threw the guard across the room into a wall, sending concrete and steel flying. The force of Deacon's throw embedded the guard into the wall.
Deacon turned to Pietro. "What was he talking about? Where is the other synthesizer?"
Pietro lowered his head in defeat. His hopes for bringing his race to the top seemed to crumble before him. He whispered softly, "Its on Sorna. Isla Sorna. The island of Jurassic Park."
