    The last Iliad Chp.2
    By NeonBlade

Tony stood at the edge of his cot, looking down at the ground, pacing. His mother was moving the food into a hole behind a broken sign. Tony, his older sister, his mother and a man that had just shown up all lived in a cave of rubble. Little light shown down and made their "dirty hole" of a home pitchblack in the back where they all slept. Tony was in rags which he wore every day. Tony was in charge of finding food and that could be very dangerous. The blood gang ran the ground while the families burrowed in the ground. The gangs stole from the troops and the families stole from the gangs. This could be deadly.
"Mom I'm going out to find more for our supply, I'll be back in an hour or so." Tony said gently peering out of the top of the hole, trying to get a sight through the dust. He put his right hand up and pushed the hatch all of the way over giving him plenty of space to get out. The sky was getting darker and that meant more danger. Tony's mom only nodded but he couldn't tell with her being in the back of the hole.
A few minutes later, Tony had made it to the center of the old town.He was aiming for the subway, where the food machines were. Tony usually gathered things like chips and things that the elder's called pretzels. They didn't make the family as thirst and that was a goood factor when there wasn't any water left. Tony moved to the subway steps and sighed. His felt like a crappy balloon loosing air.
" I hope no one's down there or I'm not making it out." Tony whispered to himself as he made his way down the steps slowly. The gangs didn't patrol the Subways at night when it was dark, they patrolled the streets and "Slashed" anyone who was out. They were the "dictators of the rubble" and were never friendly. They were deadly.
The gangs were made up of bands of parentless boys who had nothing to loose. The leader of the "Blood Gang" was blade, but he used to be known as Harry Chipmin. Tony used to know him too, infact they used to be best friends untill his mother died from being an "Infecty" and literaly fell apart infront of him. Death can turn good people into bad people, Tony knew this.
Tony made his way to the machines to find that it was empty and hadnot been refilled by the Blood gang. Tony made his way to the tracks and jumped down eight or so-feet. He landed with a loud thud. Tony knew what he had to do and that was get to the other terminal to see if those machines were working.
Tony started to walk and sighed once more knowing that it was a couple mile hike.
A Click came from behind. A loud one sending Tony flashing around. It was a flashlight or that's what the Elders called it. Tony rubbed his eyes to the adjustment of light and made out the figure. A boy standing around five and half feet tall dressed in armore stood there surrounded by two more shadows. All had weapons and all were ready to kill any trespasser.
"Who are yo- I- I was lo-looking for-" "BANG". One of the boys shot at him, but missed, most likely on perpose do to the fact that the Blood gang were exelent shots. It forced Tony foward and inot the light.Tony gasped- It was Blade...
