The hush intimidated the men within the room. Dimmed by dull lights, illuminated with blue screen decorated with dozens of moving images. the men in Military uniforms randomly picked up their coffees and shuffled the many report papers. A tall man in uniform of A general rank, appeared in the vertical hatchway, face hidden in the erie shadows. he stepped forward, his leather dress shoes clapping on the carpet.
Im afraid I have some bad news. The General proclaimed. The other officers sitting around the table peered upward in confusion.
What kind of trouble sir? A Private questioned.
We have been attacked by the enemy. The General proclaimed, his response pure
and untainted.
The Red army? Some one asked in the background.
We are not jumping to conclusions here, but yes that is our first theory. the Generals tone kept pace.
... But sir! there hasnt been any Red army troops in that area for the last five years. there is no need for them to be there, all of the nutrients have been used up and no missiles cannot be stationed there... we all ready found that out. A Lieutenant spoke up.
Yes I am aware but... This is the only rational decision. The General said.
What exactly happened? Another officer spoke leaning on both of his arms, knuckles digging into his chin.
We lost contact with one of our hoppers about one hour ago at o twenty hundred hours. Our last radio contact was... well... Disturbing to say the least. Our men were drowned in fear. They obviously didnt know what was happening until it was too late.
The room dropped back in silence.
Our specialists have been through the
recordings and images which have been destroyed by the attack. The General spoke. They have worked for the last hour coming up with ideas and theories. Here are some of the images we were able to clean up, as you can see these soldiers are frantic and unstable. The General passed the images to the Lieutenant on his left.
What is this? the Lieutenant pointed to something in the corner of the image. Looks like an animal?
An Animal? Another officer questioned skeptically. Nothing could live in that city.
LOOK! The Lieutenant barked. Right there in the corner next to the hatch opening. Its... Its Fur. Like an ape or something. The Lieutenant sounded nervous.
Let me see those. The General beckoned for the papers returned.
General look. The Lieutenant continued.
The General took the pictures and held them to the light, examining the image in the corner. My god... The General shook his head in disbelief.
You know who could tell us about that. Another General assumed.
Yes. the General placed the pictures down on the table. But I wish I didnt know him.
Come on General, he isnt that bad. He did live up to our expectations during operation : Dog forest. The Other General snickered.
The General smiled sarcastically while grabbing the photos.
This isnt the woods. If something is living in that city, and is capable of killing an entire platoon of men... We have a problem. The Gerneral spoke, then turned towards the entry hatch.
Just remember General Irons, He did come through for us and he does know these things. The other general spoke with great intent.
General Irons didnt respond. Just turned and left. Every one within the room hushed then the whispers began.
