    Jurassic Park IV: Extinction Epilogue
    By Mr Goodbytes

    Epilogue: Funeral

    TWO WEEKS LATER:

“Well honey, it’s official,” Samantha Owen said to her husband, “The animals are extinct again. I just saw it on the news.”
Nick leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. She had been in a Costa Rican hospital for a week. Plastic surgeons had been called in to repair her injured leg. Snare’s powerful gun had destroyed most of her leg, but had miraculously missed the artery. She now rested in a University of California Hospital.
“I know,” Nick replied, “It’s all over.”
Samantha smiled and closed her eyes.

    ONE WEEK LATER:

“The highest rated television production in history is getting a special re-airing tonight on the Discovery Channel. Jurassic Park: 65 Million Years in the Making, the award winning documentary about the genetically engineered dinosaurs of Isla Sorna takes you into a lost world…” The sound of the T.V. drifted off into the background as Nick and Samantha were getting ready to leave the house to celebrate their achievements. As they were walking towards the door, the telephone rang.
“I’ll get it,” said Samantha, “Hello? Yes. Yes. Oh no! Okay, I’ll tell him.”
    “Who was it?”
“That was Tim. John Hammond died in his sleep last night.”

    TWO DAYS LATER:

“Hello Nick,” Said Ian Malcolm, “I’m kind of surprised at the turnout.”
“Yes, there are quite a lot of people here. How is everyone?”
“They’re all fine. Kelly is in high school now, Sarah and I are married…”
“Am I interrupting,” asked a familiar voice from behind Malcolm.
“Not really. Nick Van Owen, allow me to introduce Dr. Alan Grant.”
“Ah, so you are Mr. Owen. I just wanted to say how happy I am for this all to be over, and I thank you for donating some of the money you make from your film to the true study of dinosaurs. Now paleontology can get back on track.” The group chatted for a while, sharing stories of their encounters. As they talked, Tim and Alexis Murphy took the podium.
“Though this is a time of mourning for us, we realize that some of you are happy that the last piece of the Jurassic Park saga has been laid to rest.”
“We can certainly understand your feelings on this matter, that is why we have set up a fund to help the families of those harmed on the islands.”
“We would also like to take our time to thank Mr. Owen and his expedition. Because of him, our grandfather’s dream has been realized, and the world can now experience the joy and wonder that was meant to come from Jurassic Park.
