Jurassic Park IV: Extinction Chapter 7: Part 1
    By Mr Goodbytes

    Chapter 7: Part 1/ Ambush!

“Alright, we rest here,” said David Snare. The group, however, pressed on.
“I said we stop here!” Snare raised his firearm toward the fleeing hostages. They knew that they had no choice but to stop. Nick and the others tried explaining to him that they must continue. Snare had, obviously, not believed them. Nick, Samantha, Jackson, and Turner had little alternative but to stay as calm as possible and await the inevitable attack.

    “Let’s move!”
Amazingly, nothing at all had happened while they were at rest. It was almost as if the stalking dinosaurs knew that an attack was expected by the humans. Now, Snare was heading them off to the east. After the group had explained to Snare that their helicopter would not arrive in time, he started leading the way to the beach. According to Snare, they had one hour to reach the beach before the helicopters arrived to destroy the animals. One hour before every living thing was wiped away by the sting of napalm.

The great roar of the Ceratosaurus ripped through the air. The two Ceratosaurs charged at the humans. Nick and his group ran full speed toward the beach. The animals followed, snarling and roaring. Snare, however, stayed behind. The dinosaurs galloped at lightning speed. They were closing in fast!
“Split up,” Nick shouted. Nick and Samantha ran to the left, Turner and Jackson headed right. The Ceratosaurs split up also, the broken horned Ceratosaurus followed Turner and Jackson. The young female turned back, stalking the human that killed her mother.

David Snare had a plan. As the others fled, he spotted a shelter in a nearby tree. His plan was to wait in the tree until the danger had past. His plan had failed. He was now trapped in the tree with the sub-adult female Ceratosaurus circling below. He checked is ammunition, five shells left. I had better make this shot count, he thought. Snare fired two shots, one hit behind the animals ear and the second shot entered the brain through the beasts eye. The dinosaur dropped dead instantly.

The broken horned Ceratosaurus ducked his head, lifting Robert Jackson into the air by his left leg. He screamed as the creature’s teeth cut into the muscle. James Turner turned, and fired several darts into the Ceratosaur’s tough hide. The horned titan dropped his meal, roaring in pain. The Ceratosaurus placed his clawed foot on Jackson’s back, bent down, and tore the legs from the man. The Ceratosaurus turned back toward Turner. The animal was just inches away from Turner’s face when the shots from Snare’s rifle was heard. The horned menace raised his head, and began running towards the sound. Turner watched as the animal literally disappeared. James Turner turned and ran toward the beach.
