    Chapter 5: Part 2/ Lost!

Running through the jungle, Jack Thorne realized his mistake. He stopped almost immediately after the obvious hit him. “What the heck was I thinking,” he mumbled to himself. He was lost in the primitive jungle! Turning quickly around, he came face to face with a small, partially feathered, dinosaur. The dinosaur was about seven feet in length, and only stood a little past Thorne’s waist. The skin was the color of a paper grocery bag, with a yellow streak down the animals head. The few feathers present on the beast were located around the extremely long neck, and at the tip of the tail. The neck plumage was a dark green, whilst the tail feathers were a bright blue. Thorne thought that it resembled a half plucked peacock. Thorne was, foolishly, un-afraid of the animal. Had he known his dinosaurs, he would have realized that Coelophysis was a carnivore that hunted in large packs.

“Where is he? That fool! We have to find him.”
“You are not going anywhere Mr. Owen,” Snare said, “and no one else is either.”
“You can’t just leave him,” Harrison said, “He has no weapon.”
“He’ll be dead in no time,” Samantha said in a shaky voice.
“Do you really think that I care? All I want is to get off of this bloody island, and I’ll do anything for that to happen.”
    “You son of a….”
A loud roar was heard from the jungle on the side where the Raptors had retreated. Another call was heard from behind the group.
“I know that sound,” Nick said.
    “What is it?”
“It’s a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Two of them.”

The curious little dinosaur sniffed Thorne from a distance. Thorne noticed the sharpened teeth of the creature. He picked up a large branch from the ground, in the event that he should have to defend himself. The Coelophysis reared back, and started chirping loudly. It growled and ran past Thorne with lightning speed. However, the animal had not retreated. What was the purpose of that, Thorne thought. He suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left arm. Looking down, he saw that there were deep gouges in his flesh. As he looked up again, the creature charged again. This time slashing his right leg. The pain was immediate this time. Thorne had no choice, he ran as fast as he could. The extreme pain in his leg soon caused him to collapse. The Coelophysis returned, and began chirping again. Three more dinosaurs joined it. Thorne realized that he was about to die, but this realization gave him a burst of adrenaline. Despite the pain, he ran as fast as he could away from the monsters. The Coelophysis pack gave chase. Two dinosaurs jumped onto his back, and began clawing and biting. Jack Thorne fell to the ground. The Four little dinosaurs piled on top of him. They began chewing on his arms and legs, eating him alive! He wanted to scream, but the weight of the animals crushed his lungs. Then, the first Coelophysis closed it’s jaws around his neck, and ripped.
