    Walking with dinosaurs II
    By Manonthemoon

    --Triassic Period--

Lasted from about 245 million years ago to 208 million years ago, the Triassic Period enfolded the birth of the future rulers on our earth.

Prosauropods come to this water pond to drink and feed on the growing podocarp. There is evidence of these huge trees from the LateTriassic to the
Cretaceous period. They were usually the tallest in the forest, spreading their branches above the tree canopy to catch the most light. A group of early lizard-hipped dinosaurs that appeared during the Triassic period and died out during the Jurassic period. The group included Plateosaurus and was closely related to the gigantic sauropods such as Diplodocus, these Prosauropods are being watched.

A Postosuchus has wondered into the Sauropods territory and it needs food.

*Postosuchus comes in and seperates the heard and bites down on a small one till it stops breathing*

The large reptile triumphs over dinosaurs ... but not for long for dinosaurs will soon rule the earth we now live on.

while this is happening somewere else a Coelophysis is also hunting for food. This small two legged carnivore lived in the Late Triassic period. It inhabited river valleys and scrubland around the plains, hunting alone or in
small groups. At the end of the dry season Coelophysis formed large packs to hunt. It was two to three metres long and weighed 35 to 40 kg. This Coelophysis is watching a cynodont nest. Cynodont is the start of soon to be mammals on this very young planet era. These small, four legged omnivores lived in the Late Triassic period. They inhabited river valleys and scrubland around the plains and made burrows. An ancestor of the mammals, they had hair-like scales and hunted at night. Typical cynodonts would grow up to about one and a half metres long and weigh up to 20 kg.

    * Coelophysis grabs a baby Cynodont and runs away *

    .....1 million years later ...

A drought has started and the postosuchus is starving. He spots the remains of a dead Prosauropod ... but this carcass has been stripped and very little meat is left. Plus a group of Coelophysis was there already.

Months later and very little of these animals are left but soon evolution will take its toll.

    * A band of Coelophysis strip away at Postosuchus*

But as these Coelophysis begin the rule of dinosaurs ... the Cynodonts also survive this large drought and will soon make their mark in our world and maybe also make their mark in the holly wood cementing process !

Lame I no but the beginning is always ... I will make the Jurassic Period better ;)
