The Life of A WWE Superstar(Chapter 5)

Jeff quickly looked across the ring. Benoit was coming after Matt with a chair in hand. Jeff had to think quickly. “If I dropkick the chair into Benoit, Matt can take out Kurt on the apron.” Jeff thought “But the spot was for Angle to Olympic Slam me through the table. But Benoit didn’t stay on the table like he was supposed to. He missed a spot too, a big spot.” Jeff made up his mind in a matter of seconds. He turned toward Benoit and pushed off the turnbuckle with all the strength his legs had. Benoit held the chair right up to his face. Jeff put both his feet together and pulled them toward him. Jeff saw his opportunity; he kicked his legs out and connected with the chair. WHAM! Jeff landed on his back. The unforgiving canvas of the ring was no help. Jeff saw Benoit lying on the mat with the chair right next to him. Jeff crawled over to Benoit and whispered “Sorry about that. I know the spot was to get Angle slammed through the table but you moved off the table. What was that about?” “Sorry about that, but I thought I was supposed to move.” Benoit replied. “It’s all right. We still cool?” “Yeah, still cool.” Jeff looked at Matt who was on the second rope, ready to do the Hardy Boy leg drop. Just then Jeff saw Kurt ram Kane’s face into the side of the cell. Kurt quickly climbed up to the apron. Jeff hopped to his feet but tripped. He looked back and Benoit had grabbed his foot. Benoit and Jeff got to their feet at the same time. Jeff did a spin back kick with his free leg to break Benoit’s grip. He looked up at Matt; Kurt grabbed Matt from behind and put his head under Matt’s left arm. Kurt then fell backward with Matt’s leg hooked with one arm. CRASH! The table wood shattered like glass, Matt and Kurt knocked out cold. Jeff slowly rose to his feet. But what he didn’t know was that Van Dam was lurking right behind him, a chair in hand. Jeff turned around and Van Dam threw the chair at Jeff. Jeff caught the chair inches in front of his face. “Oh, $hit! I shouldn’t have caught the cha…” CRACK! Before Jeff could finish his thought, the chair snapped backward and drilled him in the head. Jeff got knocked back onto the canvas. He looked up at the arena scaffolds, where the belt cord was suspended. He saw the WWE Tag Team belts hanging high, with the gold reflecting off the arena lights. Jeff looked around to get his bearings, and then thought, “I’ve been Van Daminatored” Van Dam had done a spinning back kick into the chair; also know as the “Van Daminator”. Jeff opened up his eyes really wide and he felt pain near his hairline. He touched the area and looked at his fingers in amazement. Stained on his fingers, was blood.
