    The Dream and A nightmare
    Chapter Ten

There was loud screaming. Alyson pushed threw the jungle trying to find the source of the noise panicking each step she took. The screaming continued to get louder each second and more violent as well.

"Hold on!", Alyson screamed. "I'll help you!."

Alyson heard the screaming stop. She pushed threw the jungle even faster until she reached a deserted compound with a couple of motorcycles here and there, buildings were present with all of the windows either crashed in or slowly breaking as cracks spread wider and wider in the glass. The screaming errupted again this time inside a nearby building to her left.

"Hang on", Alyson said in a whisperish tone.

She pushed against a door trying her best to push it open. Finally after a long time of struggling the door slammed open almost causing her to fall onto the ground. Dust and grime as well as vines were spread across the walls and windows. The screaming was louder this time and Alyson screamed in terror when she looked to the side of her.

"Chris!", she screamed at the sight.

At the corner of the room was Chris being torn to shreds by a Raptor, a puddle of blood spreading in all directions. She wanted to help but it was too late, the Raptor didn't seem to notice so crying silently she quickly turned to run out the entrance when she screamed freezing in her tracks. Standing at the door was another Velociraptor which now began walking towards her with a loud growl, it stopped and suddenly got into a crouching position.

"No!", Alyson screamed as the Raptor jumped on her biting at her face. Soon her screams fading away as it ate into her neck.

Alyson gasped in fright . She quickly sat up with sweat spread across her face, lying next to her was Chris and Jerry. Sighing with relief she stood up and walked over to stare threw the trees silently looking around in the darkness which was in the sky and surrounding. It was only a dream she thought wipeing dirt off her shirt.

Chris and Jerry suddenly both woke up sitting up as if they had a weird connection at that very moment. Alyson looked over at them and slowly walked over with her arms crossed.

"You guys had a dream too?", Alyson said frowning.

"Yeah...you died in my dream too", Jerry and Chris both said almost at the exact same time.

Alyson shrugged. "Well Chris died in mine."

Chris's eyes slightly grew wide hopeing that whatever happened in his friend's dreams stayed in there dreams. "Well thats...good...I guess."

"C'mon. Let's get out of here, I walked ahead earlier while you two were sleeping and caught site of a hill, we'll have to cross that", Alyson said sighing. "I just hope Ariana and the others are okay."

Jerry and Chris grunted as they stood up and followed Alyson as she walked ahead taking the lead.

"Do you have some food? I dropped my backpack while we were running", Alyson said groning.

Chris quickly nodded and reached for his backpack. "What do ya want? I have some Dr. Pepper and...some candy. Here's a sandwhich."

Alyson had already stopped far behind as well as Jerry. Chris has already walked a few feet before noticing, he quickly turned around to see his friends both staring forward as if listening for something. After a minute of complete silence they finally heard it, a weird honking noise, not from a car but from a animal. Then suddenly a noise that would come from a trumpet getting louder and louder.

"Up here!", Alyson screamed as she ran towards a tree.

Chris and Jerry followed her instructions and quickly pulled themeselves up the tree. Just as they arrived into the branches a Velociraptor appeared out from the bushes nearby and lunged at the tree they were in, Alyson, Chris and Jerry screamed as they held onto the tree branches. The raptor lunged up at the tree once again but slid back down, its claws scraping against the tree bark.

Alyson sighed. "It can't climb up."

"Well thats a very good thing", Jerry said sarcastically while at the same time being serious and relieved.

They all gasped when they saw five more Raptors appear from the same direction that the first Raptor had came from.
    -----------------

Branch To Branch. Tree To Tree.
    Chapter. Eleven

The raptors all circled the tree, all looking up towards the horrified teenagers in hungry trances. One of the raptors looked over to another one standing next to it and nodded its head, the raptor formed a smile across its face and lunged at the tree digging its claws deep into the bark.

"Don't worry, there just trying to scare us", Chris said.

Alyson and Jerry nodded as they stared at the Raptor which was still perched on the trunk of the tree. They waited for the animal to fall...but it wasn't. It suddenly dawned on Alyson and she quickly looked at her two friends. "Its not falling!".

The raptor suddenly bit onto the trunk of the tree holding on with its razor sharp teeth until it managed to dig its claw further up pulling itself up in a slow pace. Chris tore off a small tree branch and began slapping the Raptor in the face trying his best to knock the Raptor off the tree. It was no use, it was only making the animal more agitated. The determined Raptor began pulling itself up even faster now growling as it did so.

"Oh my gosh", Alyson screamed as she slowly stood up on one of the thick branches. "Its coming up here!".

Chris looked around until he came to the conclusion, he looked at one of the many branches sticking out and noticed that it reached towards other trees stretching out for miles. He suddenly hopped onto the branch he had been staring at and rested himself on it in a lying position. Alyson and Jerry looked over and saw Chris pulling himself forward across the branch.

"No fu*cking way", Alyson said. "I can't do that!".

Chris reached the other end and looked at the Raptor which was very close to reaching Jerry and Alyson. The five raptors on the ground were all staring up at Chris in confusion.

"Alyson you have to!", Jerry said grabbing her by the arm and pulling her towards the same branch that Chris had crossed. "Do you want to go first or what?".

Alyson whimpered in obvious defeat. Either she stayed up in the tree for the raptor to get her or she did what she knew she had to. "Yeah fine...i'll go first".

She lyed on the branch and began pulling herself slowly across whimpering each movement she made, the branch slightly wobbled back and forth but would hold. Jerry looked down and saw the raptor was now extremely close to reaching the top of the tree, when he looked in his friends direction he saw that Alyson had already reached the other side.

"Hurry!", Alyson and Chris said in a motivational way.

Jerry nodded and quickly lyed on the branch. With one big tug, the Raptor managed to pull itself up the tree and into the tangled branches. Alyson looked ahead and screamed.

    "Hurry Jerry!".

Jerry didn't even bother looking back and quickly slid across the branch, right when he reached the end the branch quickly gave-way. The teen screamed as he was about to fall but felt two hands grab hold of his arm pulling him up. Alyson and Chris sighed as they released Jerry from there grip, they all looked ahead to the tree and sighed with happiness and relief when they saw the creature had fallen down onto the ground when the branch had snapped as it was about to crawl after Jerry.

    "C'mon", Jerry said.

The raptors stared at the humans in anger as the three teens began crossing the branches to tree after tree.

"Damn it! I left my backpack over there", Chris said looking back.

"Who cares. Lets just keep going", Jerry said.

    "Yeah".

They all pulled themeselves across to the next tree. The ground began rumbling violently causing the tree they were in to shake uncontrollably. The raptors were nowhere to be seen but instead a heard of riled up animals with sharp plates on there backs and tails.

"What the...", Chris screamed. "Those are Stegausaurs".

    "What?...", Alyson said.

Chris was about to reply when the branch they were on gave way sending them to the ground. They all struggled to stand up and stared in horror as the heard of Stegosaurs charged after them.

    "Run!", the three teens screamed.

They all turned and began running forward down the wide path, it was completly dark and nothing could be seen which caused the kids to trip over vines and rocks resting on the ground. The Stegasaurs were getting closer and closer each second, Alyson and her friends were almost fell from the force of the shaking ground but forced themselves to keep steady.

"Look!", Chris screamed pointing ahead of them.

In the distance was a open field, but in the middle of it were two people...inside a jeep. As they got closer to the field, they saw that those two people were Tanner and another kid who had gone hiking with them.

Tanner and Arby both sat inside a red jeep with a horrible paint job. The rearview mirrors were broken off and the cieling had a huge, wide hole in the center as if someone had ripped it open with a chainsaw of some sort.
Arby looked around as Tanner examined the surrounding area. He was about to speak when he caught site of something, in the nearby jungle was what looked like three people running towards them, those were people! As the three people got closer he realized who they were, they were the three kids who had been on the hike with them.

    "Look!", Arby yelled pointing ahead.

"What?", Tanner said looking in his direction also seeing the upcoming kids. "Sh*t!".

Tanner honked the jeeps horn until she saw what looked like a pack of large animals with dozens of long and sharp plates on their back and tails which were long. They each looked as if they weighed more than 10, 000 pounds. Tanner threw the jeep in drive and began speeding up to the three helpless kids still running towards them.

    "Sideways! Run sideways!", Tanner screamed.

Alyson raised an eyebrow in a panicked confusion. "Sideways?!".

Chris saw that Tanner was driving slightly to the side as well as pointing towards her direction. "She wants us to run over there c'mon!".

They all both ran slightly to the side, the Stego's following. Tanner slammed on the brakes of the jeep causing herself and Arby to pratically slam forward against the dashboard. Alyson, Chris and Jerry all jumped into the back of the jeep and Tanner slammed back onto the gas pedal accelerating the jeep forward. The Stegos pursued there jeep but began slowing down because of there weight. The jeep dissapeared into the forest.
