The alien raised it’s arm, a gun came out of it’s skin and a red laser beam came out of it’s arm. The
red dot was placed on Mills’ head, then it moved downwards onto Rodrigues chest, then onto Levine’s
chest. Levine seeing the red dot rest on his chest, turned around and desperately hit the door in
desperation.
LEVINE
Slater, open the fuck up.
A laser shot came from the alien’s arm and hit Levine in the base of his back, going straight through
him.
LAURA
Open up, Slater there’s something out here.
The door opened up, Mills, Rodrigues and Laura jumped in. Levine lied on the floor screaming in
agony. He pushed himself against the base of the wall, leaning back, blood spilling from his back.
Levine looked at the hole in his stomach and poked it. The alien hadn’t moved, it just starred at
Levine, Levine looked up at the alien.
LEVINE
What the fuck you looking at, you piece of shit?
Levine picked up his gun.
LEVINE (grimacing)
Fun times, are to be had.
The alien slowly started to move towards him. Levine fired his gun at the alien, when Levine looked up
the alien had disappeared.
Inside the room, all four looked at each other in despair. Levine’s cries could be heard outside.
LAURA
Levine, we got to get him.
Slater moved forward, he puts his body between her and the door.
SLATER
Your not opening that door.
The group listened to Levine outside.
LEVINE (talking to the alien)
You back, you want some more?
Gun blasts could be heard outside going rapidly, then coming to a sudden stop.
LEVINE
If you listening Rodrigues, your guns are for shit.
Rodrigues moved forward to open the door, but Slater stopped him.
The alien could be heard approaching outside, it growled.
LEVINE
Jesus, mother of Christ, halo by thy name, my Kingdom come...
A sudden crack could be heard, and then chewing noises.
Laura put her hand to her face.
A pool of blood started to pour under the door inwards. The group looked down at it in disgust and
stepped back.
The alien charged into the door but the door held firm, then it could be heard leaving.
SLATER
Let’s get moving, I guess it just fed, maybe it’ll leave us for a bit.
Laura looked at Slater in disgust, Mills stared at Slater.
SLATER
What’s wrong with you?
Mills slammed the butt of his gun into Slater’s face. Slater held his face in pain.
SLATER
What the fuck, you do that for?
Mills pointed to the cut on his head, Slater had given him earlier.
MILLS
Don’t ever pull that shit on me again.
Slater held his bleeding nose.
SLATER
Whatever.
Laura moved forward to take a look at his bloody nose. Slater pushed her hand away.
SLATER
Get the fuck away from me, what the fuck is it?
RODRIGUES
It’s an alien organism.
SLATER
That pool of water you showed me is that?
RODRIGUES
I told you it was a shape-shifter.
SLATER
How far are we away from the escape pad.
MILLS
Three hundred yards give or take.
Slater walked away and stopped.
SLATER
I’ve seen things, I haven’t seen for years, nightmarish images.
RODRIGUES
The alien, it manipulates your fears, the images they are your fears?
SLATER
Maybe.
LAURA
I put down some scissors earlier, and when I looked down, the scissors they were a spider, I’ve always been scared of spider, your
scar Rodrigues must have rekindled that fear.
Slater held his nose, it had stopped bleeding.
SLATER (talking to Mills)
What are your fears?
MILLS
I haven’t seen anything like that.
SLATER
Does that mean, you don’t have any fears?
MILLS
No, it means, I haven’t seen anything like that.
SLATER (talking to Rodrigues)
How the hell did you capture it?
RODRIGUES (thinking)
I... I can’t remember.
SLATER (surprised)
You can’t remember?
The others looked questioningly at Rodrigues.
MILLS
You take a bang on the head?
RODRIGUES (holding his head)
I guess... I guess (thinking) I froze it.
SLATER
How did that work?
RODRIGUES
The alien is a shape shifter, liquid to a shape. So if you turn the air to freezing it can’t shape shift, or it freezes into its liquid form.
Making it’s one on one.
MILLS
There’s a generator room on the next level, you can turn the temperature down from there.
Rodrigues took out a handgun and threw it to Slater.
Slater caught the gun.
SLATER
1,2,1 formation, lets get out of here.
The group left the room.
The group made their way up a slope of the corridor, entering onto another level. A figures could be
seen in the distance heading towards them.
Slater fired his gun at the figure hitting it in the upper body, but it carried on towards them.
LAURA
Don’t shoot it could be Moncrieffe.
The figure came out of the shadows, it was Moncrieffe.
SLATER
Whose he?
LAURA (smiling)
Moncrieffe.
MILLS
I thought he was dead?
Moncrieffe carried on ignoring them, as he got closer his face was ghostly white.
SLATER
I think he is.
MILLS
What?
SLATER (looking at Mills’ face)
Dead.
Moncrieffe carried on towards them he was expressionless. Mills started firing his gun at Moncrieffe,
but he kept on coming, Rodrigues started firing as well.
RODRIGUES
Jesus.
Moncrieffe was an arms distance away, when he disappeared. Slater looked at everyone else.
SLATER
What the hell’s going on?
The group came to a door, on the door maintenance was stencilled in black writing.
RODRIGUES (talking to Mills)
Is this is it? (pointing towards the door)
MILLS
Yes, this is it.
You stay out, lookout, Slater you come with me.
Mills and Slater entered the room.
Inside the room, Slater entered first with Mills behind, as he got in the door he locked it behind him,
Mills started to make his way to the far end.
MILLS
Found it.
SLATER
Good.
Mills opened a protective cover and turned a dial.
MILLS
It should come on ten minutes, it takes a bit of time to cool down. But now we can get out of here
SLATER
This ship was starting to give me the creeps.
MILLS
There’s nothing wrong with my ship, I didn’t bring that piece of shit on board.
There was a minute of silence.
MILLS
Did you think I was really going to let you just walk away, that I’d let you be forgotten?
Slater smiled expecting this.
MILLS
Just let you jump us on the pod, so nobody would be left, no witnesses that you escaped the explosion?
Mills pulled up his gun to Slater and fired at him but missed.
Slater ran off, hiding away from Mills, Mills followed after him.
MILLS
Come back you piece of shit.
As Mills turned a corner, Slater fired at him but missed, Mills turned back on himself and made his
way around the other way.
Mills came around the other corner, in front of him was nothing.
Slater jumped on top of Mills coming from the left, knocking him to the fall. The two men struggled on
the floor, Mills tried to reach his gun so he could fire it into Slater’s chest. Slater grabbed Mills head,
and broke his neck (there was a cracking noise).
Slater got up looking down at Mills’ limpness body.
Outside Rodrigues and Laura were silent, they heard the door unlock, Slater came out of the door.
RODRIGUES
Where’s Mills?
SLATER (smiling)
He slipped and broke his neck.
Rodrigues looked up at Slater.
The three made their forward, turning a corner. The alien was standing straight in front of them, the
group stopped in surprise.
The alien spat at Slater hitting him on the shoulder, his cloths and then his skin started to burn away.
He started to yell at the pain. The alien again stood there as they moved away.
LAURA
What’s it doing?
RODRIGUES
Hunting us, just keep going.
Slater groaned in pain, he looked at his red shoulder it was burning away before his eyes.
SLATER
Shit... Shit.
They came to a cross-road and stopped. Slater fell to the fall, Rodrigues and Laura bent down to pick
him up.
SLATER
Leave me, I can’t make it.
LAURA
No
Rodrigues half picking Slater up, gently let him slip to the fall.
SLATER
I ask on thing.
LAURA
What?
Slater coughed some blood.
SLATER
Your gun.
Laura passed Slater her laser gun.
SLATER
Now, get the fuck out of here, I’ll hold it off.
Laura bent down and kissed Slater on the cheek.
SLATER
What was that for?
She ignored him and she and Rodrigues ran forward.
Slater sat in the middle of the cross-road., humming a tune to himself. A shadow passed, Slater looked
around, not knowing where the shadow was.
The alien stood watching Slater right in front of him, Slater turned and saw it, the alien turned into its
liquid form, the pool of liquid started making its way towards Slater slowly.
Slater seeing it fired the laser gun, but the pool kept coming slowly towards him.
He fired some more but it kept coming, he threw his laser gun at the pool, and withdrew his handgun
firing at it.
The pool started to move faster, Slater fired his handgun rapidly counting the bullets.
SLATER (to himself)
seven, eight, nine.
The pool of liquid was four foot away, Slater pulled his handgun to his head.
SLATER (pulling the trigger)
ten!
The gun clicked but didn’t fire, the barrel was empty.
Slater looked down at his gun in disbelief.
SLATER
Shit.
The pool turned back into the alien.
Rodrigues and Laura raced along, they came to a door that had ‘Escape Pod’ stencilled on it. They
both stopped trying to catch their breathe when Slater screaming could be heard.
Laura pressed a button on the door, the door opened, she stepped in and then did Rodrigues.
Rodrigues started to do an inspection of the pod, checking behind box’s and in corners.
LAURA
What you doing?
RODRIGUES
Knowing our luck, will escape and the Damm thing will be on the pod, I’ve seen that happen before.
Rodrigues satisfied with his inspection, exited the pod.
LAURA
Aren’t you coming?
RODRIGUES
The pod, it’s on automatic release, for five minutes before the explosion.
LAURA
So?
RODRIGUES
If we both get in there, it’ll walk straight up to the door and open it up like a tin can, then neither of us will leave. I’ll make a stand, I’ll
be there (pointing opposite the pod where is was dark), and it’ll come to the door and I’ll creep up behind it.
LAURA
OK
Rodrigues started to move away.
LAURA
Rodrigues
RODRIGUES
What?
Laura looked up frightened at him.
RODRIGUES
Everything’s going to be all right.
The alien made it’s way down the corridor towards the escape pod.
It reached the door looked through the small glass window. The air it was exhaling was turning into
drew in front of it’s mouth, because of the cold.
Laura inside the pod looked up at the alien scared.
Rodrigues came out of the darkness, moving forwards unnoticed.
The alien turned around, Rodrigues fired his gun into the alien’s stomach, nothing happened. The
alien growled, Rodrigues turned around and started sprinting away, the alien chased him.
Laura looking through the small glass window saw them both run off away from the escape pod.
Rodrigues raced along, but saw that he had come to a dead-end, he turned around facing the rushing
alien, it didn’t stop.
The alien knocked Rodrigues down and looked down at him in disgust, it picked him up by his neck
and threw him against the wall.
Rodrigues as on the floor bleeding, his body in a heap, the alien approached him bent down to
Rodrigues and looked into his face. Rodrigues staring at the aliens face, reached into his jacket and
took out an electric prod, he threw it in the air and caught it. The alien looked at it, not knowing what
to make of it.
Rodrigues moved the prod to the alien’s throat and squeezed the hold at the handle. An electric sparks
came out, the alien went flying backwards.
Rodrigues got up surprised, he looked up at the alien laying on the floor, it was struggling to get back
up.
Rodrigues got to his feet and moved on top of the alien, he reached down and took a knife out of his
boot.
Rodrigues stabbed the alien in the chest with the knife, liquid poured out of it’s chest, he moved the
knife down opening the chest up more the alien screamed. He threw the knife away, and inserted his
hands into the aliens chest and withdrew it’s heart. The alien looked up, at it’s own beating hearts as
Rodrigues held it above his head, it tried to get up and then slumped backwards.
Rodrigues dropped the heart to the fall it was still beating and moved away from the alien, when he got
to his feet when a sudden pain hit him in the head and he fell down.
FLASHBACK
RODRIGUES MOVED FORWARD AND SLIT O’NEIL THROAT. RODRIGUES LOOKED DOWN
IN DESPAIR AT O’NEIL FOR A FEW SECONDS. A BULLET FLEW THREW THE AIR PIERCING
RODRIGUES IN THE NECK, BLOOD POURED OUT AND WENT EVERYWHERE. RODRIGUES
ON THE FLOOR STARTED TO CRAWL AWAY, ANOTHER SNIPER BULLET FLEW PAST JUST
IN FRONT OF HIM, THEN JUST BEHIND HIM.
END OF FLASHBACK
Rodrigues held his head, trying to remember if it was true.
FLASHBACK
THE ALIEN IN ITS FORM WAS IN FRONT OF RODRIGUES HE STARTED TO CRAWL
TOWARDS IT. RODRIGUES REACHED THE FEET OF THE ALIEN AND LOOKED UP AT IT IN
AMAZEMENT.
END OF FLASHBACK
RODRIGUES
No, it can’t be.
FLASHBACK
RODRIGUES
HELP ME.
THE ALIEN LOOKED DOWN AT RODRIGUES AND THEN TURNED INTO A POOL OF LIQUID.
RODRIGUES BODY SLUMPED HE WAS DEAD, THE LIQUID POOL STARTED MOVING UP
TOWARDS him AND ENTERED HIM THROUGH HIS MOUTH.
END OF FLASHBACK
Rodrigues started to cry, he touched he neck there now appeared to be a hole in it, he put his finger
through the whole, he looked up scared.
FLASHBACK
SLATER
HOW THE HELL YOU CAPTURE IT?
RODRIGUES
I.... I... CAN’T REMEMBER.
END OF FLASHBACK
Rodrigues held his head the pain became more intense.
FLASHBACK
RODRIGUES
A SONOC TARANTULA
LAURA
A SPIDER DID THAT?
NEW FLASHBACK
LAURA LOOKED UP AT THE SCISSORS, SHE LOOKED UP AGAIN THEY TURNED INTO A
METAL SPIDER.
END OF FLASHBACK
RODRIGUES
No, it can’t be.
FLASHBACK
LEVINE
LOAD’S OF SHIT, LAST TIME HE STARTED TALKING ABOUT HIS DAD HITTING HIM AND
HIS MOTHER.
NEW FLASHBACK
THE OLD MAN WAS IN HIS BED RANTING TO HIMSELF.
END OF FLASHBACK
Blood started to pour out of Rodrigues mouth.
FLASHBACK
LEVINE
NONE OF HIS VICTIMS WAS INNOCENT
RODRIGUES
I REMEMBER READING ABOUT THE JUDGE, JUDGE RAMIREZ WHO ORDERED THE EXECUTION OF SLATER’S WIFE AND
DAUGHTER
NEW FLASHBACK
SLATER TURNED THE BODY OVER WITH HIS FOOT, IT WAS A MAN DRESSED LIKE A
JUDGE
END OF FLASHBACK.
Rodrigues started sobbing, and rolled over onto his side, he saw the alien heart next to him, it beats
were getting fainter and fainter, the heart stopped, Rodrigues died.
Laura sat in the escape pad.
COMPUTER VOICE
The pod, will separate in three minutes.
Laura pressed a button on the wall and the door opened. Laura stepped out, she started running up the
corridor where Rodrigues and the alien had run off to.
Coming around the corner she saw the alien and Rodrigues lying on the floor.
She ran up to Rodrigues and bent down, looking at Rodrigues, he was dead.
COMPUTER VOICE
The pod will separate in sixty seconds.
Laura started to move backwards, she turned around and started running back to the pod. The
computer started a countdown from sixty seconds.
Laura reached the pod and got in it with twenty seconds to spare, she fell on the floor trying to catch
her breathe.
At the base of the door scratching could be heard coming from outside.
Laura looked at the door unsure whether to open it.
She moved forward and pressed the button, the door opened, sitting in the doorway was Dixon. He
jumped into Laura arms.
Laura closed the doors.
COMPUTER VOICE
Five, four, three, two, one.
Separation Complete.
The escape pod separated from the Upton and Clark, slowly drifting away from it. Laura sat on the
floor with the dog on her lap looking out the window as the Upton and Clark got farther and farther
away.
When the pod reached five hundred yards away, a beam of light could be seen coming from earth, the
Upton and Clark blew up into a million pieces.
Laura grabbed a handle getting ready for the impact, the pod started to shake, as debris from the Upton
and Clark hit the pod in a wave, from the explosion.
Laura kissed Dixon on the head.
LAURA
We’re going to be all right.
The pod slowly drifted towards earth.
LAURA’S SPOKEN THOUGHTS
When I was a child my mother always told me the story never ended until a happy ending was reached, now I’ve grown up I
understand there is no such thing as a happy ending.
