    Darkness of Space3
    By J-Francis-C

    LEVINE
    Cool!

The group now fully armoured made their way forward along the corridor.

Something flashed in front of them. There was six or seven aliens crawling along the walls towards the
group. Mills who was leading the group saw them.

    MILLS
    Kill them.

The group started firing their weapons, laser bullets rained down on the aliens, a cloud of smoke
appeared between the aliens and the group, so they couldn’t see.

    LEVINE
    What the fuck are they?

Moncrieffe at the back of the group wasn’t firing his gun. He threw down his gun and ran in the
opposite direction. Laura saw him run away.

    LAURA (shouting at him)
    Moncrieffe, come back.

Moncrieffe glanced back, but continued running away.

    LEVINE (smiling)
    This is the best.

    WALTON
    What is?

    LEVINE
We’re killing them and they haven’t got a fucking chance.

The group stopped deciding they killed the aliens, the smoke slowly died down. The aliens kept coming
towards the group, the group didn’t have time to raise their guns. The aliens were a foot away when
    they vanished into nothing.

Rodrigues fell to the fall holding his head, Laura bent down to him.

    LAURA
    Are you OK?

    FLASHBACK

ROD WAS BACK IN THE JUNGE, UNDER HEAVY ENEMY FIRE, SOMETHING TAPPED HIM
ON THE SHOUDLER. RODRIGUES TURNED AROUND IT WAS O’NEIL HIS FACE WAS WHITE
AND HIS THROAT WAS CUT SPILLING BLOOD.

    O’NEIL
    YOU KILLED ME.

RODRIGUES LOOKED A O’NEILL IN ALARM.

    END OF FLASHBACK.

    LAURA (shouting)
Are you OK, please say something.

    RODRIGUES
    I’m OK.

Rodrigues got up on his feet, everybody was looking at him.

    MILLS
    Are you OK?

    RODRIGUES
    The Aliens?

    MILLS
    There gone.

    LEVINE
    Consider them exterminated.

Behind them came a growl, the alien approached them. The group fired their weapons, but the alien
    kept on coming.

    LEVINE (in amazement)
    Jesus.

The alien stopped and spat something green that hit Walton on the head and neck. Walton’s face and
chest started to burn away, Levine and Rodrigues dragged Walton away.

    MILLS
    We’re retreating.

The group moved back continuing to fire at the alien, that now stood still just staring at the group.

The group retreated back to the bridge, they entered it, the alien came around the corridor looking at
them but stopped again watching them.

Once inside Mills locked the door and stepped back, a massive impact could be heard on the other side
of the door the alien charged the door. Walton was laid on the floor.

    WALTON
    I don’t want to die.

    LAURA
You’ll be all right, just fine.

Laura started removing Walton’s armour, trying to stop the acidic burning of his skin.

WALTON (whispering to Laura who bent over him)
    You’re lying.
I only wanted to see my son, I promised him, I’d come back.

Walton’s eyes closed, blood poured out of his mouth he was dead.

Levine held his head in grief.

    LEVINE
    O... Jesus... O God.

The alien stopped charging the door it could be heard going down the corridor away.

    MILLS (relieved)
    We stick to the plan.

    RODRIGUES
No we don’t, Slater wasn’t put on this ship for no reason, he was part of a contingency plan for me just like the guns, we need him.

    MILLS
Slater was put on this ship, so I could deliver him to death row nothing more.

    RODRIGUES
You know as well as me, he is the only man who could get us to the other side of the ship.

    MILLS
    No, he’s a monster.

    RODRIGUES
He was a soldier, one of the best, I served under him.

    MILLS
And we release him, you just think he is going to lets us walk him to death row, because I don’t think so.

Rodrigues took out some printer paper from his jacket and passed the to Mills.

    RODRIGUES
He’s not going to death row anymore.

    MILLS
    You got to be kidding.

    RODRIGUES
Slater agreed, he knows what he has got to do.

    LEVINE
Captain I don’t know, they killed his wife, wouldn’t you want some revenge.

    MILLS
He killed to avenge his wife, he kept on killing because he liked it.

    RODRIGUES
That doesn’t matter, he’s our only hope.

Mills paced the bridge up and down, Rodrigues picked up his gun and moved towards the exit.

    Mills picked up his gun.

    MILLS
You don’t want to do this.

    RODRIGUES
    Are you threatening me?

    MILLS
As captain of this ship, I’m asking you not to do this .

A crash came from behind, a cargo box fell over, Rodrigues carried on towards the door.

    MILLS
What’s he getting out of this, a man like Slater isn’t scared of death.

    RODRIGUES
    Life to forty years.

    MILLS
Do you think he’ll settle for that?

Rodrigues carried on again towards the door

    MILLS
    Wait.

    RODRIGUES
    Why?

    MILLS
I’m going with you, and when he gets free, I’m going to be there to tell you I told you so.

Rodrigues and Mills walked out of the bridge.

They continued making their way along a corridor. Rodrigues stopped by the chamber hall it was pitch
black inside, Mills walked past him. He turned around noticing Rodrigues had stopped.

    MILLS
He’s not there, he’s a high security risk, just around the block.

Rodrigues indicated with his hand for Mills to come to the chamber hall.

Mills walked towards him, noticing he was alarmed.

When Mills came to the door, he stopped holding he’s nose because of a foul smell.

    MILLS (sniffing)
    What the hell is that?

Rodrigues signalled to go forward, he stepped inside and hit the light panel with the butt of his gun.

The lights came on in the room, the floor was covered in blood and water, all the cryo chambers were
broken, pieces of human flesh were everywhere, the prisoners had been ripped to pieces.

    MILLS (smiling)
    Your friend has been busy.

    RODRIGUES
    What in God’s name?

    MILLS
    I’m not sure it was.

Both men left the hall and returned to the corridor.

Moncrieffe made his way forward, he stumbled on something in front of him.

    MONCRIEFFE (calling)
    Dixon baby.... Come to papa.
    Please come to papa.

A shadow rushed past in front of him.

    MONCRIEFFE (desperate)
    Please, baby.

Moncrieffe past a room, as he did the light came on inside, Moncrieffe stepped back to have a look in.
In the room was an old man in a bed breathing heavily, he was connected up to a diagnosis machine.

Moncrieffe stepped forward into the room.

    MONCRIEFFE
    No, it can’t be.

    OLD MAN
    Charlie, is that you.

Moncrieffe stepped forward out of a shadow.

    OLD MAN
Charlie my boy, come sit next to me, (tapping the chair that sat next to him).

Moncrieffe moved forward and sat down.

    OLD MAN
    How’s my boy doing?

    MONCRIEFFE
But... Mamma said you were dead. I thought you were dead.

    OLD MAN (shouting)
Do I look dead to you?
    How’s the army.

    MONCRIEFFE
    Fine

    OLD MAN (excited)
How many kills? (touching Moncrieffe arm)

    MONCRIEFFE
    None (whispered)

    OLD MAN
What, can’t hear not as young as I used to be.
How many kills, come on you can tell your dad.

    MONCRIEFFE
    None.

    OLD MAN
None, why, Jesus your not still a pussy are you?

    MONCRIEFFE
    Yes daddy.

The old man tried to get up.

    OLD MAN
I’m going to beat you senseless boy, you pussy, I’m going to kill you.

Moncrieffe put his hand on the old man’s shoulder.

    MONCRIEFFE
    Calm down, daddy.

The old man threw his son’s hand away, and then hit Moncrieffe full in the face.

    OLD MAN
    You mother fucking pussy.

Moncrieffe got up holding his bloody nose, he moved forward towards the old man determined. He
grabbed a pillow and pushed it down onto the old man’s face. The old man struggled, but Moncrieffe
held firm suffocating the old man.

The old man stopped struggling, Moncrieffe let go of the pillow, starting to cry to himself. Moncrieffe
removed the pillow and threw it away, looking at the old man’s now calm face.

    MONCRIEFFE (crying)
    Forgive me.

Moncrieffe jumped up, a razor sharp tail came out of his chest.

Dixon came to the doorway observing he sat down. Blood hit the dog on its head, covering its white
fleece in blood, it picked itself up moaning and walked away.

Rodrigues and Mills were still walking along cradling their weapons, Mills was leading.

Rodrigues walking behind walked past a door, stopped he heard some grunting, Mills carried on
    walking in front of him.

Rodrigues looked at the door and then slowly with his gun pushed it open.

Inside was Rodrigues wife and O’Neil making passionate love, his wife was on top with her back to
Rodrigues. O’Neil stopped he saw Rodrigues and stared at him, slowly Rodrigues wife slowly turned
around looking at Rodrigues she smiled and then carried on.

Rodrigues looked shocked, he brought up his gun and filled the room full of laser fire aiming at the
two figures, who vanished into nothing.

Mills came up behind Rodrigues, and looked into the room.

    MILLS
    What is it?
What the hell’s wrong with you.

Rodrigues turned around and stared straight into Mills face.

    RODRIGUES
    I thought I saw something.

In the bridge, Laura was examining the bottom of Levine’s shoe that was covered in the alien
organism. Levine sat at the table eating a sandwich.

Levine looked down at Walton’s body.

    LEVINE
    I wished Walton hadn’t died.

    LAURA
    Were you close friends?

    LEVINE
Hell no... he owed my a thousand dollars.

Laura laughed, Levine got up and moved behind her.

    LEVINE
So doc, what the hell is it?

    LAURA
    It’s amazing.

    LEVINE
    If you say so.

In the middle of the bridge appeared a blue screen with digital time on it, a count down started from
    five hours.

    LEVINE
    Jesus, we got five hours.

    LAURA
Five hours, according to Rodrigues we should have seven hours left.

    LEVINE
    I hope, your right.

Laura reached forward and pressed the intercom button on the table.

    LAURA
Mills, the computer is giving us a five hour countdown.

    MILLS
    Five hours.

    LAURA
    Yes

    MILLS
It doesn’t matter, I intend for us to get on the pod along time before then, I want you and Mr Levine to get your butt down to level
    three section forty nine.

    LAURA
    OK, we’re coming.

Laura put down some scissors she had been using.

When she looked up the scissors had turned into a huge metal spider.

    LAURA (whispering to herself)
    This is not happening.

She closed her eyes and opened them again.

The spider had disappeared, now in front of her was the scissors again.

    LEVINE
    Are you OK, doc?

    LAURA
    Just peachy.

    LEVINE
Well, lets get the fuck out of here.

    LAURA
    OK.

Levine starred at Laura with his hand out.

    LAURA
    What?

    LEVINE
    My goddam shoe.
    Laura passed Levine his shoe.

    LAURA
    Sorry.

Rodrigues and Mills stopped, coming up to a door.

    MILLS
Wait here, I’ll go and get him.

Mills entered into the door, Rodrigues stood with his back to the door, he was alert cradling his gun.

Approaching Rodrigues was a figure coming out of the shadows towards him, it was O’Neil.

    RODRIGUES
    Go away.

O’Neil stepped forward he looked normal.

    O’NEIL
Why did you have to kill me?

    RODRIGUES
Your not there, I killed you a long time ago.

    O’NEIL
How do you live with yourself, you killed me for your wife, but she didn’t love you never did.

    RODRIGUES
I killed you, because you lost it, you would have got us both killed.

    O’NEIL
    Just, keep telling yourself that.

O’Neil disappeared, Mills and a tall muscle man (Slater,40’s) entered from behind, Slater had
    handcuffs on.

    RODRIGUES (looking at the handcuffs)
    Take them off.

    MILLS
    On your head be it.

Mills took off his handcuffs. Rodrigues moved forward to shake Slater’s hand.

    RODRIGUES
    Rodrigues Marquis.

Slater moved forward and going to shake Rodrigues’ hand, he grabbed it and threw Rodrigues to the
floor. Mills went to raise his gun, but Slater headbutted him knocking him unconscious.

Levine and Laura made their way along a long corridor. Something ahead ran past, at the cross-roads.

Levine holding his gun in front of him, slowly moved forward, slowly looking around the corner. Dixon
was around the corner, the dog was not sure whether to come forward, his fleece and face was covered
in blood. Laura came up behind Levine.

    LAURA
    It’s just Dixon, Moncrieffe’s dog.

    LEVINE
    Yeah, but where’s Moncrieffe.

    LAURA (To Dixon)
Come here boy. (tapping her knee)

The dog moved forward and then ran away, a growl ahead of the dog could be heard.

Laura started to follow the dog, Levine stopped her.

Levine fired two shots at the dog, but missed, Levine and Laura moved forward to where the dog had
    been.

    LAURA
What did you do that for?

    LEVINE
I’ve seen it in the movies so many times, we follow the dog and then a big fat monster jumps out.

    LAURA
    Geez... grow up.
    Didn’t you ever watch Lassie?

    LEVINE
Do I look like I watch Lassie?

An alien growl came from in front of them.

    LEVINE
That happens a lot around here.

LAURA (shouting where the dog had run off to)
    Dixon, come back.

They both moved backwards, to where they had been and again moved up the corridor.

Mills lay on the floor holding his head regaining consciousness.

    RODRIGUES
    Are you all right?

Rodrigues offered his hand to help Mills get up.

    MILLS
What did, I tell you. Now his gone and taken our only way off getting off the ship

    RODRIGUES
I know, I’m sorry, but the pod will only leave five minutes before the ship gets hit.

    MILLS
Well sorry means nothing now does it?

Levine and Laura came around the corner they saw Rodrigues and Mills.

    LEVINE
    Where’s Slater

    MILLS
    He jumped us.

    LEVINE
Typical, can it get any worse, now there’s a serial killer on the loose.

Slater made his way along a corridor running, passing through a door.

    SLATER (to himself)
It’s gotta be around here somewhere.

He heard something in front of him he turned trying to get through the door he had just entered, it
    wouldn’t open.

Slater turned around and brought out his knife preparing to defend himself. The lights went out and
then came back on flashing on and off.

    SLATER (snarling)
    Come on you motherfucker!

The lights came back on, there was nothing in front of him, Slater smiled to himself.

The door opened up behind him, a mutilated body fell forward. Slater jumped surprised and kicked the
body, using his foot he turned it over.

    SLATER
Jesus... Judge I killed you along time ago.

Slater carried on moving ahead, putting away his knife.

The group of four made there way along the corridor. A figured passed through the cross-roads ahead
in front of them, the figure didn’t notice them.

The group ran after him, coming to the cross-roads, they looked down the corridor it was Slater.

    RODRIGUES
    It might not be Slater.

The group made their way along towards Slater, he turned around and saw them.

Mills raised his gun firing at Slater, Slater jumped into a room.

The group ran after him, they reached the door, but it was locked.

    RODRIGUES
    Open up.

    Mills charged into the door.

    MILLS
    Open up, shithead.

The alien stood at the end of the corridor, he was examining the group that didn’t notice it.

Levine turned around noticing the alien, he pointed towards the alien.

    LEVINE
Please tell me.. that that’s my fucking imagination?

The group turned around seeing the alien. The alien looked at the group, for a few seconds nothing
    happened.
