Despite all the other effects Michael Lantieri had to perform for JP, he considers the "rippling water glass" effect the hardest to figure out. Apparently he asked every sound person he knew before stumbling on the solution. (From: Staindallover2K2)

HalloweeN 9: Evil Never Dies (Script Form)(Part 1)
    By HSimpson89

    Black Screen
    Cue Halloween Theme
    Credits Role
    Halloween theme slowly fades away
    Black Screen
    Subtitles: June 23, 1999
    Grace Anderson Mental Institution

Fade into John Tate walking up the front lawn of Grace Anderson. He gets to the door. He looks around then makes his way to the front desk.

John: Um, can you tell me where Laurie Strode’s room is please, I’m her son.

    Desk Clerk: Sure can son
(He looks through a book) That’s room 278, up on the second floor.

    John: Thank you sir.

He walks over to a standing map and finds room 278, it is the room at the very end of the hall. We see John walk up the stairs and pass the same door that led to the roof as seen in H8. The camera is right behind John and he walks to the door with a little round glass window in it at the end of the hall. He knocks twice then proceeds to walk in. We see Laurie sit up in bed a little bit, with a very surprised look on her face.

Laurie: Oh my God, John. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you.

She stands up and goes over and hugs him for a long time. We see a tear roll down her cheek and one roll down John’s.

Cut to them sitting at a little table in Laurie’s room, talking.

Laurie: John, there is something really important that I need to tell you.

    John: What is it Mom?

Laurie: I haven’t been telling you the truth for the past 17 years. The reason I have been so scared that Michael would come back is that I, and a lot of other people know, that he didn’t die in that fire in 1978. He was only in a coma for 10 years. Then in 1988 he finally woke up from that coma. He woke up because he heard about his little niece, Jamie Lloyd.

John: Wait, if she was his niece that makes her . . .

Laurie: My daughter, your sister. Yes John, it’s true. This is what happened:

    Cut to flashback

Laurie (Voiceover): Only a couple months after Halloween in 1978 I married Jimmy Lloyd, the hospital worker that helped me on that night. We had Jamie in 1980. I was a wreck and Jimmy couldn’t handle it anymore. We got divorced and I remarried a couple months later. My second husband and I had you in 1981. For a while it was all of us living together, but you were not even a year old so you didn’t remember Jamie. About two months after you were born, my second husband and I got divorced. He got custody of you and moved to California. I stayed in Haddonfield with Jamie. I knew it wasn’t safe for her to be living with me. So in 1987 I faked my death in a car accident so Jamie could be adopted, giving her new parents, making her safe. It was for my own safety as well. I moved out to California to find you and your father, and changed my name as well. Your father gave up custody of you to me and we have been living like this ever since.

Cut back to the present day

John: This all comes to me as a huge shock, Mom. So, so where is she, Jamie I mean.

Laurie: Well, Michael got her in 1995. I thought I had already messed your life up enough, I didn’t want to mess it up anymore by telling you this, but I knew I couldn’t keep it from you.

    Fade to Black
    Subtitles: Glensdale California
    October 31, 2002

John sits on the couch in his California home next to his wife, Mollie from H20. They are watching the news. The camera pans to show the TV that is showing the ashes of where the Myers house garage once stood.

Reporter (off screen): This is where the brutal killings of tonight came to an end just minutes ago.

John: He struck again, I just can’t believe he struck again.

We see him walk over to a notebook and he opens it. Inside it is listed:
    Halloween, 1978, Haddonfield, IL
    Halloween, 1988, Haddonfield, IL
    Halloween, 1989, Haddonfield, IL
    Halloween, 1995, Haddonfield, IL
    Halloween, 1998, Glensdale, CA
Halloween, 2001, Grace Anderson Sanitarium. May she rest in peace.

Then we see him write: Halloween, 2002, Haddonfield, IL

    Cut to the morgue

We see the man wheel Myers into the autopsy room.

    Man: Hey, how’s it going?

Morgue Attendant: You’ve gotta be kidding me, another one?

Man: It’s your lucky night. You got a celebrity.

Morgue Attendant: Let me get my autograph book.

Man: I’m not kidding. It’s Michael Myers.

    Morgue Attendant: Wha-

Man: Get me a copy of that autograph.

    Morgue Attendant: Yeah, sure.

    Man: (Laughs) Cracks me up.

The morgue attendant walks over to the body bag and unzips it carefully. Inside is one of the most horrifying things she had ever seen. It was a man with a partial mask burned to his face and the rest of his body was burned as well. She walks around, studying him closely, and suddenly his eyes open! She screams and jumps away. Myers does his famous power sit and then gets off the table.

The Stalk theme begins to play

The woman struggles to open the door but can’t. Myers grabs one of the various sharp objects on the autopsy table and continues to head toward the woman. She screams but is not heard. Myers then grabs her throat and lifts the knife up and we hear one last scream. Then we see the woman’s body drop to the floor. We hear Myers’ heavy breathing and the Halloween theme begins to play. Myers opens the door, walks down the hall and out the front doors. We see him disappear into the night.

    Fade to black

    Subtitle: November 1, 2002

Fade into John and Molly sitting at the table eating breakfast.

Molly: Do you actually think he’s dead this time John? I mean, they did wheel him into the morgue. He was burnt pretty badly.

John: To tell you the truth I really don’t know. My mom said he was burnt real badly back in ’78 in the explosion at the hospital.

Molly: Ya, but his doctor, that Loomis guy, survived too. That means it couldn’t have been that bad, if a normal guy lived through it and all. The fire last night was much worse, the whole garage burned to the ground.

John: This guy can take anything Molly. I saw his files from his other attacks. He was shot a couple dozen times with a shotgun, fell down a well, and he still kept coming. My mom stabbed him many times and pushed him off a balcony when he attacked us at school a couple years ago. What did he do? He got right up and kept killing.

John gets up and turns on the TV. The news is on.

Reporter: This is the morgue where they took Michael Myers last night. This is also the scene of another murder. The morgue attendant that was seeing to Michael Myers was killed last night. The body of Myers is nowhere to be found. Everybody in the town and surrounding towns of Haddonfield need to be on high alert. We believe that Michael Myers may still be alive and at large. He is extremely dangerous. We urge you to not be alone today, and do not go out after dark.

John: Shit! The bastard is alive. I knew he wouldn’t die, not that easy. Now he will come for me. He may stay in Haddonfield and have a little “fun” there first, but sooner or later he will come for me. I can’t let that happen. I can’t let him have his “fun.” I have to go to Haddonfield before he comes for me or anyone else. I have to kill Michael once and for all, actually make sure he is dead.

Molly: John, that is suicide. No one has ever been able to stop Michael before.

John: Who cares if it is suicide, Molly? He will get me anyway. I might as well die trying to destroy him and save the lives of a lot of innocent people.

Molly: Then let me come with you. We can both go to Haddonfield. I can help you. We can stop Michael Myers together.

John: Ok, I could use the help anyway. We need to come up with a really good plan and that will take time. It is the day after Halloween, he is not active. He has killed on and a couple of days before Halloween, but never after. I say we take the next year to think and plan, then we go to Haddonfield right before Halloween, we can catch him off guard, when he is thinking about other things, like killing. If we went now he wouldn’t be thinking about anything else, he would be more prepared for an attack from us.

Molly: That’s a good idea John. If we rush this it could spell disaster.

John: Ya, that’s what I mean. That’s why we should wait. Our plan has to be good. We need to catch him, put him in something that makes him helpless. Then kill him when he’s in there. That would be the safest and most effective way to do it. We’re gonna get him this time Molly, we’re gonna end his killing spree and his life.

    Fade to Black.

Fade into lonely, tree lined, small town street. The road is damp and red leaves are blowing around. Laurie’s theme plays.

    Subtitle: Haddonfield, Illinois
    October 30, 2004

The camera pans down the street. It passes the Wallace and Doyle house from H1 and after speeding up and turning corners, it passes the Corruthers’ house from H4 and H5. It doesn’t stop when it passes all those houses. Then we see a very familiar house in the distance. The Myers house. The camera stops at it and the Halloween theme plays. We hear Michael’s heavy breathing. The Halloween theme dies down and then the breathing stops.

Cut to Jane Thompson walking down the street. She looks a little nervous, like she is trying to hurry home. She keeps looking around. As she walks by some bushes she hears rustling in them. She speeds up even more but not in time. The Shape lunges out and grabs her around the throat. She screams and kicks him in the crotch. At this point the Shape tears off his mask and starts laughing. Jane turns around to see that it was her friend Peter under the mask.

Jane: Shit Peter, what the hell is your problem?! You don’t fuck around like that in this town, especially with that mask, and so close to Halloween.

Peter: Geez Jane, I’m sorry. I just wanted to have some fun is all. And what do you mean by “especially with this mask?”

Jane: That’s the mask that Michael Myers wears you dickhead. Look Peter, I know you just moved here, but I know you know the town’s history. You should know not to mess around like that.

Peter: Yeah, I know about Myers, but I didn’t know he wore this mask.

He looks at it and shudders.

Peter: Hey Jane, you got to admit it was funny. I had you going.

Jane: No Peter, it wasn’t funny. If someone saw you like that you could really get in trouble, or hurt, or killed.

Peter: Killed? Jane, aren’t you going a little far with that one?

Jane: No Peter. That mask is banned in this town, no one is stupid enough to wear it anymore, so if someone saw you with that on, they could assume it was Myers, and they might shoot you or something. Plus it gives me the creeps. Just take my word for it and don’t wear that thing anymore, ok.

Peter: Ok Jane. You know, you need to lighten up a little bit.

Jane: Peter it’s almost Halloween, and this is Haddonfield. Those two things don’t get along too well. Myers body was never found last year. This town has wised up; even the police actually believe Myers might still be alive. If you lived here when any of the murders happened you’d know how I felt.

Peter: Michael Myers is not alive. How could he have survived that fire? They took him to the morgue last year.

Jane: Ya, and his body was gone almost minutes after he got there, and the girl that was working with him was murdered. Who do you think killed her, and where did Myers’ body go. Answer that Peter.

Peter: I bet there was someone that worked at the morgue that didn’t like that girl and he saw the chance for a perfect murder. Blame it on Myers. He probably killed her, then took Michael’s body and threw it in the river or burned it completely or something like that. Made it look like Michael woke up, killed her and left. Perfect.

Jane: Peter, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I think you are just scared that he will come back so you are just denying it. You believe he’s alive just like the rest of us.

Peter: That’s not true Jane. I really think he is dead, and I think you should believe it too. It will take a lot of stress off your shoulders. Plus why should he even scare you, why do you think that he would come after you?

Jane: I’m a 17-year-old girl and I’m babysitting this Halloween. That’s a pretty good reason.

Peter: Ya, but you’re not family.

Jane: He’s fooled around with more than just his family before Peter. When Halloween rolls around he will come out and kill, family or not. Well, home sweet home, thanks for walking me home Peter.

    Peter: Bye Jane.

Peter walks away and heads for home. We see that he now has an uneasy feeling. He keeps glancing around. He lives down the street from the Myers house and has to pass it to get home. When he gets to it he stops and looks at it. He quickly turns to cross the street. When his back turns we see The Shape in the upper right hand window looking down at Peter.

Cut to shot over Myers’ shoulder. We hear his heavy breathing. We can see the partial burnt mask is still on his face. He watches Peter cross the street. Then Myers’ shoulder leaves the frame, the Shape has left the room.

Cut back to Peter. He takes another look at the house from across the street. He turns back around. He walks a couple more yards then crosses the street to get to his house. The camera is behind Peter and it slowly pans around to the front of him. Behind him we see The Shape next to a bush, just watching Peter. He steps behind the bush just as Peter turns around, to take one last look at the Myers’ house down the street. He walks up the front steps to his porch, takes out his house key and unlocks the front door and goes in. He doesn’t lock the front door. His house is empty.

Peter: Mom! Dad! Is anyone here?

It is silent for a few moments.

Peter (to himself): Hmm, I guess not.

He goes up the stairs and turns right and goes down the hall. He opens the door at the very end, his room. He throws his mask onto his bed.

Cut to the Shape’s POV from outside. We hear his heavy breathing. We are looking up into Peter’s room. Peter is on his computer.

Cut back to Peter’s room. He is checking his email. He sees one that is from his friend Mitch. He opens it.

Peter (Reading to himself): Hey Peter, I will be out of town for the next couple of days. I get back the day after Halloween. So if you call and I don’t answer, now you know why. See ya later.

He has no more emails. He shuts off his computer.

Cut to Myers’ POV. We see Peter leave the room. We walk around the house to the kitchen window just in time to see Peter get to the bottom stair. He turns and comes into the kitchen. We step to the side so we’re not seen.

Cut to inside Peter’s house. He walks over to the fridge. He pulls out some bologna, cheese, and mustard. He goes over to the counter and starts making his sandwich. He stops when he hears a creaking behind him. He turns and looks. The front door is just barely cracked open.

Peter: Shit! Jane, is that you? Don’t scare me like this; I’m not in the mood.

Cut to Peter’s room. We see Myers’ hand grab Peter’s mask off the bed. Michael’s old burnt one then falls onto the bed and the camera pans up to show Myers’ pulling the new one over his head. We catch just a glimpse of some of the scaring on his lower face and neck.

Cut to Peter in the kitchen. He is sure that Jane wouldn’t scare him like this, so he assumes that he left the front door open. He goes back to making his sandwich. He hears rustling upstairs and stops.

Peter: Ok Jane, who is upstairs and who I can hear, you can stop being funny.

We see the uneasiness in his face, he is getting scared. He starts to go for the front door and when he gets there he stops.

Peter (to himself): No, I won’t leave. Two can play this game. I’ll give her a taste of her own medicine.

He goes towards the stairs and stops. He takes a deep breath and then continues to go upstairs. He turns right and goes to his room, making sure nobody is in it before entering. He goes to get the mask off his bed and sees the burnt one.

Peter: What the hell happened to this? This isn’t mine.

Now Peter is really getting scared. He remembers that Michael was burned last year, and this mask looked just like the one he saw on the news when they showed the burnt Michael. In the amount of time it takes him to do this Michael goes down the stairs and out the front door. Peter is now very scared so he runs as fast as he can down the hall and down the stairs. He runs toward the front door opens it and runs into Michael, who was standing there waiting.

Peter: Fuck! What the hell man, this isn’t funny anymore. Give me my mask back. You scared me now it’s over.

Michael just stares at Peter. Peter starts to back away and Michael moves towards him. He raises his knife.

Peter: Shit Jane that is a real knife. Don’t mess around with it.

Michael continues towards Peter. Peter decides this isn’t right so he turns around and runs. He goes through the kitchen and to the basement stairs. Michael is just turning the corner out of the kitchen. The stalk theme plays. Peter runs down the stairs and when he gets to the bottom he goes to the nearest window. He tries to open it but he can’t. He hears Michael coming down the stairs so he tries one last time. It opens but not all the way. He can’t fit through the opening. He goes to the cupboard next to the washing machine and hides in there. Michael steps onto the bottom stair. The stalk theme stops. He looks around for a second then sees the open window. He walks over to it. He knows Peter could not have fit through the small opening. He looks around the room and flips things over, opens doors; he is determined to find Peter.

Cut to inside the cupboard with Peter. He is watching out of a crack in the door. He grabs a pipe that is lying next to him in the cupboard. He sees Michael coming towards the cupboard.

Cut back to the room with Michael. He bends down to open the cupboard and when he does Peter jumps out and hits him in the head with the pipe. Michael is dazed but only for a second. Not enough time for Peter to get away. Michael grabs Peter around the throat and cuts it. It is a deep, fatal cut. The Halloween theme plays. Peter drops to the floor. We see Michael bend down and drag Peter away. Halloween theme fades away.

Cut to John and Molly pulling up to the Haddonfield Inn in their Ford Escort. John steps out of the driver’s side, walks to the trunk and grabs some luggage. Molly goes in and John is right behind her.

Molly: This place is a dump.

John: Aw Molly, it isn’t so bad. You’ll just have to get used to it.

Molly rings the bell for service. The desk clerk, an old dusty man, walks out from a dark room behind the counter.

Desk Clerk: What can I do for you two?

John: We need a room for a couple of nights.

Desk Clerk: Ok, just take the key and I’ll charge you 20 bucks a night till you give it back. That’s easy enough isn’t it?

John: Ya, that’ll be great. Thanks.

The room number on the key is 68. They go down the hall all the way. 68 is the last door on the right. They open it up. It is a very small room with a bed and a TV. They walk in and set all their stuff by the door. John goes over and looks out the window while Molly goes and sits on the bed.

John: Well, we’re here. Now we just need to know where to start.

Molly: Maybe we should go to his house. You know, look around a little.

John: Ya, I think that would be a great place to start. Lets rest a little bit and then we’ll go.

Cut to Jane and her friend Michelle talking. They are in Jane’s house; it is evening time so it’s starting to get dark out.

Jane: So who all is coming to this party?

Michelle: Lots of people. Mitch isn’t coming, he’s out of town, but Jordan Hemsley will be there.

She gives Jane a funny look.

    Jane: Shut up.

Michelle: We all know you like him, you just need to talk to him. It’ll be easy, I’ll go with you.

Jane: I dunno, maybe I will.

    Michelle: Oh, you will.

Jane: Ok whatever. Anyway, do you really think it’s a good idea for us to baby-sit this Halloween? I mean, Halloween and babysitting don’t go together too well in this town.

Michelle: Oh, come on Jane. You aren’t scared of the Boogeyman are you?

    Jane: Michelle, you never know.

Michelle: Just lighten up, it’ll be fine.

Jane: Ya, I guess your right.

They continue to get ready for the party.

Cut to outside of Jane’s house. It is dark out and the streetlights are on. Jane’s front door opens and the two girls exit the house. Laurie’s theme plays as they walk down the street.

Jane: So, who do you have your eye on?

Michelle: I dunno. I’ll find someone at the party. There are plenty of horny guys there that want to get laid.

Jane (laughing): Ya. It should be easy.

They come to a house with loud music coming from inside. They go up the sidewalk and to the front door. Jane rings the doorbell. After a couple of seconds the door opens. It is a party guest.

Guest: Hey girls, come on in.

Cut to John and Molly driving around Haddonfield. They come to a street that says Lampkin Lane.

    Cut to interior of car.

    John: This is the street.

He waits for a car to go by then he makes the left turn onto Lampkin Lane. We notice that they drive by Peter’s house, which is curiously dark.

    Molly: There it is.

John stops the car right in front of the Myers’ house.

Cut to over Myers shoulder interior of the house. He is looking out the front window at the car parked in the street. He doesn’t recognize who is in the car.

Cut to interior of the car.

John: I’m going to get out and check it out a little bit.

Cut back to over Myers’ shoulder. We can hear his heavy breathing. He can now recognize John. He walks over to the counter and picks up a huge knife that was sitting there. It has blood on it from when Michael killed Peter. He walks back over to the window just in time to see the car driving away. He walks outside and watches the car drive away.

Cut to Jane and Michelle at the party. They are sitting on a couch talking.

Michelle: Look Jane, there’s Jordan. You should talk to him.

    Jane: Michelle…

Michelle: Come on Jane. Just get up and say hi to him or something. Lets go

Michelle grabs Jane’s hand and gets up off the couch. She walks toward Jordan.

    Jane: Michelle!

    Michelle: It’ll be fine Jane.

    They get over to Jordan.

    Michelle: Well, here’s your chance.

    She pushes Jane towards him.

    Jane: Um, hey Jordan.

Jordan: Oh, hi Jane. What’s up?

Jane: Not much. Just enjoying the party. So, when did you get here?

    Jordan: About 20 minutes ago.

    Jane: Cool.

Right then a slow song comes on.

Jordan: Hey, do you want to dance Jane?

    Jane: Yes, I’d love to.

The song plays on and most people are dancing. We see a Shape outside the window, behind Jordan and Jane. It looks like a man watching. A dancing couple sweeps in front of the camera and when they leave the frame the Shape is gone. Now the song is ending.

Jane: Thanks Jordan, that was great.

Jordan: How ‘bout we go over to the couch and talk some more.

    Jane: Ok.

They walk through the people and get to the couch.

Jane: So, what are you doing on Halloween?

Jordan: Actually, I have to baby-sit the little Johnson kids. So I can’t do anything.

Jane: No, actually that’ll be great. I’m baby-sitting the Stevenson boy, it’s right across the street. We could keep each other company.

    Jordan: Sounds good.

Right then Michelle comes walking up.

Michelle: I hate to interrupt you two lovers, but Jane, it’s 12 and we have to go.

Jane: All right. Jordan, what’s your number, I’ll call you.

He writes it down and hands it to Jane.

    Jane: Thanks, bye.

    Jordan: Bye Jane.

Jane and Michelle walk out side. They are walking down the almost deserted night streets.

Cut to Myers POV through bushes. We are watching the two girls walk home. They leave our view behind some bushes so we walk out and carefully follow them.

Cut to shot of the girls walking towards the camera. Behind them we see the Shape’s white mask in the bushes, watching. Then it disappears.

Cut to Jane and Michelle sitting on the couch at Jane’s house. The TV is on and they are talking.

Michelle: So, you and Jordan really hit it off huh? You got his number.

Jane: Ya, he’s great. I really like him.

Michelle: See Jane, now your glad I made you talk to him.

Jane: You didn’t make me, Michelle. I would of done it without your help.

Michelle: Oh ya, when? Jane, you never talk to guys.

Jane: That’s beside the point. I talked to him tonight and now we like each other, that’s all that matters. You know, he’s babysitting Ken Johnson right across the street from us on Halloween. Maybe we could all arrange something so we could hang out, since you’re babysitting the McDermott’s next door to me. Little Tyler Stevenson is friends with Bobby McDermott and Ken Johnson.

Michelle: That would be great. I was in for a dull Halloween this year. This will definitely spice it up a bit.

Right then the Shape appears in the window in the kitchen behind the two girls. He just stands there and watches them. Jane gets up.

Jane: I’m gonna go to the kitchen to get a snack, you want something?

    Michelle: No, I’m good.

When Jane turns around we see the Shape is gone from the window. She walks into the kitchen and goes to the cupboard. Behind her we see the Shape appear in another window. Jane grabs some chips out of the cupboard. She walks over to another cupboard to get a bowl, and her body completely hides the window for a second or two. She gets to the cupboard and the window is visible again. The Shape is in it, watching her. Jane fills the bowl with chips. We still see the Shape in the window. Jane walks back to the living room, blocking our view of the window again. When the window comes back into view, the Shape is gone.

    Cut to The Haddonfield Inn.

    Subtitle: October 31
    Halloween

It is morning. The camera pans down from the Inn’s sign. The trees across the street are moving violently. It is a gray, windy day. The roads are slightly damp from a rain the night before. Leaves blow around in the parking lot.

Cut to inside John and Molly’s room. They are looking through books and folders on Michael Myers. It seems like they have been planning for a while. We join them in the middle of their conversation.

John: …it’s an old fashioned stakeout. We wait at his house till he comes home. I was reading some files of what happened to him throughout the years. I saw that back in ’89 Loomis and the cops set a trap for him in his own home. It worked but they made one mistake: they didn’t kill him when they had the chance. They took him to jail. That gave me the idea to do kind of the same thing. First we go out and find him, hopefully before he does any damage. Then we lure him to his house where we have a trap set. Then we catch him and kill him. And we kill him in a way that we can be sure he is dead. The key thing will be the trap though. It has to be effective or we won’t be able to even get close enough to kill him. We need to completely cut off all his movement so he would pose no immediate threat. This guy isn’t exactly easy to deal with.

They continue to look through files and papers. Molly finds something that interests her.

Molly: Man this guy was sick wasn’t he?

    John: What?

Molly: It says that he went after his 10-year-old niece…

John gets an uneasy look on his face.

Molly: Wait a minute, niece? If she was his niece, then she was also…

John: Yes, I know Molly. She was my sister. Well half sister really, same mom, different dad.

Molly: When were planning on telling me this John?

John: I was going to tell you sometime, I just wasn’t ready to talk about it yet. Look can we please just get back to researching and not talk about this right now. I really don’t feel comfortable.

    Molly: Ok John.

Cut to Jane walking up the stairs of her house. She is all alone. When she gets halfway up she hears somebody upstairs. She stops. Then she continues to go up the stairs. She turns left and goes to her room at the end of the hall. The camera is in front of her and we see the Shape’s white mask come out of the darkness of the room behind her. She opens the door to her room…nothing. She walks in and goes to her closet. When she opens it the Shape jumps out and grabs her. She gets free and opens the door to leave her room. The Shape is standing right there. She runs around him and gets to the stairs. He is now coming up the stairs. She turns around and there he is again… and then she wakes up screaming, drenched with sweat. Michelle is on Jane’s couch.

    Michelle: Jane, what’s wrong?

    Jane: Just a bad dream.

Michelle: Well now I’m awake so I guess I’ll get up.

    Jane: Ya, me too.

    She gets out of bed.

Cut to downstairs in the kitchen of Jane’s house. Jane and Michelle are sitting at the table with bowls of cereal in front of them.

Michelle: Man I’m glad Halloween is on a Saturday this year. You should hang out with Jordan today.

Jane: He won’t be home till 9. Then he’s got to baby sit. We might get together then.

Michelle: Oh good, so I get to stand around and listen to you two fool around.

Jane just gives Michelle a stupid look.

Jane: You could call Brody and see if he can do anything.

Michelle: Brody’s an asshole. I am not going to hang out with him.

    Jane: All right, fine then.

Cut to a lady in her driveway. She is getting groceries out of the back of her red station wagon.

Cut to Myers POV shot through the trees. We hear his heavy breathing.

Cut back to the lady. She takes in the last of her groceries.

Cut to the interior of her car. We see that she left her keys in the ignition.

Cut back to Myers POV. We are walking out of the trees towards the car.

Cut to the inside of the lady’s house. The camera is in front of her and she has her back to the window. We hear the car start. Out the window we see it start to back out. The lady turns around in time to see her car going down the street. She runs for the phone and dials 9-1-1.

Cut back to Jane’s house. Jane and Michelle are just about to leave the house. They walk out the front door. As they are walking down Jane’s driveway we see a red station wagon turn the corner and start to come down the street from the left. Jane and Michelle turn right off the driveway and start to walk down the sidewalk. The station wagon slows down as it passes. It stays with the girls for a few seconds then speeds up and drives away.

Jane: What the hell was that all about?

Michelle: I don’t know. I wonder who it was.

Laurie’s theme plays. The girls keep walking. The camera stays in one place as the girls walk away from it. We can hear them talking but we can’t hear what they are saying. Laurie’s theme fades away.

Cut to the Haddonfield Inn. A blue car pulls into the parking lot. The door opens on the driver’s side and Tommy Doyle steps out. He turns around and opens the back door. A 15-year-old Danny steps out of the car. Kara gets out of the passenger side. Steven, now 9 years old, gets out of the car too.

Cut to John and Molly’s room. John is looking out the window.

John: Hmm, somebody else is here.

Cut to the lobby. Tommy has just gotten his key. He starts to walk down the hall, his family behind him. We see the door to John’s room open down the hall. John steps out and walks down the hall. He waves to Tommy as he walks by. Tommy stops and turns around.

    Tommy: Excuse me, sir.

    John: Yes?

Tommy: Aren’t you, um, aren’t you John Tate?

    John: Yes. And you are?

    Tommy: Tommy, Tommy Doyle.

John: You mean, the Tommy Doyle. The kid my mom baby-sat back in 1978?

Tommy: Ya. John, why are you here? You’re not safe here. Michael is still alive. You have to leave.

John: I can’t leave. I’m here to stop Michael for good. I suppose you are trying to do the same?

Tommy: Yes. My whole family is obsessed with trying to stop Myers. We have come to this hotel for the past 3 years, tried to find a way to stop him. You know what, why don’t you come into my room and we can talk.

John: Ya, sure. Just let me go get my wife.

Cut to inside Tommy’s room. It looks just like John and Molly’s room. Danny and Steven are talking about something in the background, while John, Molly, Kara, and Tommy sit on the beds talking. We join them in the middle of the conversation.

John: …Our idea is to set a trap for him in his own home.

Tommy: That plan failed when they tried it back in ’89.

John: It failed only for one reason, they didn’t kill him. They took him to jail. The dumb asses took him to jail. We will kill him the first chance we get.

Tommy: Ok, so we kill him. But, how are we going to be able to be in his house long enough to set the trap without him noticing? If he sees us, he will never stop tracking us down. Especially you John, you’re family.

John: It’s Halloween; he will be out doing his business. We need someone to follow him while he goes out, so we can distract him before he makes any kills, but make sure he is out long enough for us to set the trap.

Tommy: Look, this isn’t going to be a walk in the park. He is totally unstoppable.

    Cut to flashback

Tommy (voiceover): Many people believe that Michael was cursed when he was six years old. But that’s not true. Back sometime between 1988 and 1989 when Michael was in a coma he was discovered in a shack down by the river by an ancient druid cult. They knew who he was, and they knew his power. Their “tribe” was in danger and in order to save them, they needed to curse someone with the thorn. Now if you are cursed with the thorn you will kill all your blood relatives until they are gone. Michael was already trying to do that so they thought it wouldn’t be so tough. So he was cursed, and taken “control” of by the cult. Finally in 1995 the curse was lifted. When the curse is lifted you are supposed to go back to a normal existence, no killing. Well Michael didn’t, and that just shows you how powerful he is. Perhaps the thorn cult just made him more powerful by helping him to kill his family for six years. No one knows. But Michael has been free, has had nothing to do with thorn for nine years, and he is still killing.

    Cut back to the present.

Tommy: So even the cult that somewhat had control over Michael couldn’t stop him, so just keep in mind that this won’t be easy.

John: Look, I know this won’t be easy. You aren’t stopping me from going through with it though. Whether you and Kara want to help is up to you, but I’m doing this.

    Kara: Of course we’re helping.

Tommy: Oh yes, we are helping, I was just warning you.

John: All right, lets get to work on this plan; we only have about five hours of daylight left.

Cut to interior of Michael’s red station wagon. We hear his deep, heavy breathing. Out the windshield we see the Haddonfield Inn sign come into view. Michael starts to drive by the Hotel, but then he looks out the window and sees John’s Ford Escort parked in the parking lot. Michael pulls into the parking lot and stops for a minute.

Cut to the inside of Tommy’s room. John gets up and looks out the window when he hears the car outside.

Cut to Myers POV out of the car windshield. We see the curtains move back in one of the rooms and we recognize John looking out the window.

Cut back to Tommy’s room. John thinks nothing of the red station wagon parked outside so he goes back to the bed to keep talking with the others.

Cut to Jane and Michelle at an ice cream shop. We can see that they are about done eating their ice cream cones. They are sitting at a table by the window, talking.

Michelle: So, are you gonna kiss Jordan tonight.

    Jane: I dunno, probably. Why?

Michelle: I don’t know, I was just wondering, curious I guess.

Jane takes the last bite of her ice cream.

    Jane: Well, I’m done.

We see the red station wagon come by the ice cream shop. It slows down as it passes by the window that the girls are sitting by. They don’t notice. It lingers for a couple of seconds then speeds up and drives away. Michelle takes the last bite of her ice cream now.

    Michelle: Well, lets go.

    Jane: Ok.
