Chapter 6...
Dilbeck
Let me in, the Rex he's coming.
Nick unlocks the door and Dilbeck hops over the driver and into the back. The car backs up and races into the jungle.
Nick
What the hell? Where did it come from?
Dilbeck
It attacked us and it ate Bruce.
Roger
Damn, where is Sue?
Dilbeck
She is back there...I think.
Clark
You were to busy argueing with that idiot.
Dilbeck
He's no idiot, he's just the opposite. Which gives them the advantage.
Nick
That's one thing, he's a smart ass.
The Rex then appears farther back, behind the truck as it comes into a clear field. The truck still drives across the field when out of a cloud of fog appears a fence. I tall, and long fence stands between them and safety.
Dilbeck
No! Damnit! Get out of the car!
Nick
No, stay still, stop the car and stay still.
Dilbeck
That won't stop it at all! It's coming didn't you see that!?!
Clark
I'm thinking the same, Dilbeck is right.
Roger
No, I don't hear the thunderous stomping. We must have lost him before the fog.
Nick
Yeah sounds it. Lets get back to the plane. We should get out of here.
Dilbeck
No we haven't finished the mission!
Nick
They are stuck here! I don't want people to get hurt! As far as I'm concerned this mission is over!
Dilbeck
Well I didn't put you in charge! I am in charge!
Roger
Dilbeck...their chopper was destroyed...
Dilbeck
So what? They will still plant that damn bomb!
Nick
Not while they are stuck here.
Dilbeck
They will set it, set it for them to have enough time to call in and get off this island!
Nick
Well I'm leaving before them, lets get back to the plane.
Dilbeck
You son of a bitch!
Nick
No, I care about the team more than this damn mission. That is the right thing.
Dilbeck
Not in my book.
Nick
Screw you asshole.
Dilbeck punches Nick. Nick steps out his car door and grabs Dilbeck and pulls him out to the ground. Nick is bleeding a bit from his mouth, but just wipes it off with his left arm.
Dilbeck
Your dead, this expidition cost me so much damn money, and now you don't want to go through with it.
Nick
No, because it wasn't your money. You took InGen's money, the only money it had left!
Dilbeck
So what, it was going bankrupt.
Nick
No, that is not true. ( Kicks Dilbeck still while he is down )
Dilbeck
I don't lie.
Nick
Yeah!?! InGen didn't only do this kind of stuff. You may have been sued tons of times but John Hammond funded the company so damn well I don't think you could go bankrupt.
Dilbeck
John Hammond is dead!
Nick
John Hammond left all his money to InGen, where is it?
Dilbeck
He never left money! Only to his family!
Nick paces and kicks Dilbeck again, Roger and Clark watch from the car.
Nick
That is a lie, a huge lie!
Roger
What is he talking about Mr. Dilbeck?
Nick
Tell him the truth!
Dilbeck
No, what truth!?!
Nick
The truth of how the money Hammond left to InGen went to you! Your beautiful cars, and your amazingly expensive house.
Dilbeck
I earned that money!
Nick
Yeah I know what you did. That money was Hammonds money, left in his will. You took it and thought no one in the entire company would know. Well no one working for you knew, but I did. I researched! You don't think all these years of doing nothing, I would come across something big!
Dilbeck
You --
Nick
Yeah? What am I? You don't deserve a company like InGen. I've never liked you, and you never liked me. That was always the way it was and that is how it will stay.
Nick gives one more good kick while Dilbeck holds his stomach.
Nick (cont.)
Now get in the god damn truck.
Nick gets in while Dilbeck lays holding his stomach. Then there are chirping sounds, Nick hears them and looks around seeing small things moving in the distance.
Roger
What are you looking at Nick?
Nick listens for a second.
Nick
Dilbeck, you might want to get up and get in the car.
Dilbeck
In a second, shut up.
Nick
Alright whatever...
Then right then Dilbeck looks out to his left and sees the grass moving a bit. As he gets up slow, a small green lizard walks up on it's hind legs to Dilbecks face.
Dilbeck
It's only a baby...
Roger
That's not a baby. It's a compy.
Dilbeck
A what?
Nick
How long have you worked at InGen?
Dilbeck
Don't talk to me. ( Looks back over to the compy ) -- What do you want?
The compy stares him down, then Dilbeck feels a bit at his leg and suddenly swats his leg. As he looks he sees another one by his ankle. Then the one by his face swings it's head and bites his ear.
Nick
Get in the damn truck.
Dilbeck
Alright, hold on. ( He gets up slow as the compies jump beside him, he swats a few and holds his ear. He then hops into the truck and closes the door as compies jump past the window. )
Clark
Alright, so wheres the plane?
Dilbeck
I think on the other side of where the helipad was?
Clark
Wait isn't that back towards where the Tyrannosaur was?
Nick
Yeah but if that is where the plane is we need to get there.
Clark
This sucks, we're all going to die.
Roger
Don't say that, we have a chance.
Clark
Alright, sure sure. How are we going to sneak past the T-Rex?
Nick
Maybe it's gone, maybe it left. You never know.
Clark
Alright well i'm going to drive at the rate i desire.
Dilbeck
Whatever just get us to the friggin plane. We can get the equipment we need and continue with the damn mission.
Nick
No! We are out of here, we can leave you here if we have to.
Dilbeck
You don't have the guts to do something that stupid.
Nick
Stupid? I think that would be great.
Roger
Jesus Christ! Both of you stop acting like babies. If we want off, we have to do it together. I say first we figure out if they are still going to plant it and if so we can stay if the plane is in good shape. Otherwise we are out.
Dilbeck
That sounds good, I guess. I can agree to that.
Nick
Yeah, it will work out. But we have to check on the plane.
The truck then drives off into a cloud of fog. Then out the other side they appear and disapear into the forest.
