Tell Me More Lies- Chapter One

She was lovely. And she was perfect. Dr. Delena looked at his daughter. He smiled as he finished the plan inside his head.
"Ashleigh? Can you please turn off that God awful music and come here?"
The girl frowned and debated the question. After the first chorus she turned it off and went into the kitchen towards her father. She placed her hands on her hips and tilted her head. Her father sighed. She always did that when she was frustrated with him.
"What do you want?"
"I've done it."
She raised her eyebrows. "Done what?"
"I got the flight schedules. Thursday at 3:00."
"That only gives me two days."
"I know, but..." He casted his eyes towards his feet and then back at her. "You know how important this is for my company sweetheart. Dr. Grant-" He cringed at the name. "And the people who work for him are going to Isla Rubla to meet with the government. You know what they are going to do there?"
She shook her head.
"Find out all that we've done. Take pictures, release it to the press. Ten years of work will be ruined in one week. You're only a sophomore in college, if I lose this, you might stay that way. It's a lot of money."
"What do you want me to do?"
"We need to keep it secret. If anyone finds out..." He shuddered. "Billy."
"Dad, you're not making sense."
"I'm not done. I know for a fact that Dr. Grant is on his way right now to ask his former assistant, Billy Brennan, to go to Isla Rubla with him."
"And why is this Billy guy so important?"
"He is a photographer. He has been studying Isla Rubla. He is also a paleontologist, and is a teacher at a local college. He is also young, and impressionable."
Her eyes lit up. She was beginning to understand.
"Now, what would happen if an attractive young lady like yourself just happened to get a certain young boy interested in you?"
"He would be putty in my hands."
"Exactly." He puts his hands on her shoulders. "You could make him do anything. You could turn him against Dr. Grant. You could make him convince Dr. Grants team that it was all a bad idea to go to the island. You also know about cameras and therefore you could take all of their film and destroy it without them knowing."
"So you're saying I actually have to go to Isla Rubla."
He nodded.
"But isn't that dangerous?"
"Are you, Ashleigh Dana Delena, scared of a few dinosaurs that are as harmless as Barney and are as cute as a golden retriever puppy?"
Her eyes stayed wide but she shook her head. "Thursday?"
"Thursday."
She sighed. "I better get packing then."
