Tell Me More Lies- Chapter 4
    By Fearless106

"You guys all set?" Alan stopped and turned around, looking his two friends in the eyes.

They answered at the same time, echoing each other. "Yeah, we're fine Alan."

"All right. When we get on that island, it's not Alan. It's 'yes Dr. Grant', and 'no Dr. Grant'...I'm in charge."

"No wonder Ellie broke it off with him." Rick whispered to Brad.

Alan turned around and glared at them, shutting them both up.

The plane came into view and Alan paused. Grunting loudly, he pushed on and was welcomed by the pilot.

"Good afternoon Dr. Grant, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Stuart. I will be your captain for the flight."

"Just don't land in any trees." Alan said under his breath. He climbed the stairs and walked through the open door.

    "Hello Alan."

Alan turned towards his right and widened his eyes. "Billy?!! You said you weren't coming!"

He grinned and lifted his bag. "One point five million? Maybe this time I will buy a new strap."

Alan smiled and sat down in front of him. "Billy, I would like you to meet Mr. Brad Edwards, and Mr. Rick Stuart. Guys, this is Billy Brennan."

They all shook hands and then took their seats. "So, Billy, ever been on any of these islands before?" Rick asked.

Billy glanced at Dr. Grant and smirked. "Yeah...you could say I got an 'insiders look' of the island."

"So then you-" He paused in the middle of his sentence and scrunched up his nose. "Do you guys smell vanilla?"

A moment later a woman's voice was heard outside the airplane, getting louder as time passed.

"I want you to make sure that my luggage will not be hurt. I have my camera in there, don't mess it up." A flash of blonde hair appeared at the doorway of the airplane. "So you're the guys I will be spending the next week with." She glanced around at the four men and then stood waiting. "Well now, don't all introduce yourselves at once."

Brad was the first to stand up from his comftorable position, and shook hands with the girl. The rest of them continued the trend until they were all introduced.

"I am Ashleigh Lovitz." She said finally, and sat down next to Billy. He glanced over at her for a moment and then changed the lenses on his camera.

She looked over at him and smiled. "Nice equipment."

He dropped the camera on his lap and turned red. "Excuse me?"

    "Your camera."

The other men laughed at her innuendo and leaned back in their seats, finally starting to relax.

"Oh, thank you." He placed the new lens on and started to focus it.

    "So are you a photographer?"

"No, actually, I'm a professor. Photography is just a hobby."

She placed her hand on his arm and smiled. "A professor? Wow, that must be tough. What do you teach?"

"Paleontology. I used to dig but now I teach it."

"Maybe you could teach me sometime." She removed her hand and glared at the men on the other side of the plane, who were laughing at her strategic conversation.

The plane started to shake again and the pilot walked in. "You all ready to get going?"

They nodded at him and buckled themselves in.

He smiled and nodded back. "No other passengers?"

They all called out at the same time. "Nope."

"All right then, we're off!" He left them where they were and went to the cockpit, sitting down in his chair.

"Wait!" Another voice came from outside the plane, soon followed by a loud knocking on the door. "Let me in damn it!"

Dr. Grant unbuckled himself and opened the door, revealing another woman.

"Captain? We've got another one!" Rick yelled up to the front.

"All right, tell me when you're ready." He called back.

"Thank you so much." She said, and climbed on to the plane. She pushed her hair behind her ears and glanced around. "Billy?!"

He looked up and raised his eyebrows. "Jane?"

"Whoa, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to help Dr. Grant." He said, tilting his head in his direction. "What are you doing here?"

    "I'm John Hammond's grand daughter."

Alan started to choke on his water and looked up at the girl. "You're his grand daughter?"

She gave him a confused look and nodded. "Yes, why?"

He didn't answer her, instead drinking more water.

"Just go ahead and sit down." Brad said, moving over to make room.

    "Thank you."

She put her luggage in the overhead compartment and sat down behind Billy.

"Who's the girl?" She whispered to Brad.

    "Ashleigh Lovitz."

"What's she doing here?" Jane glanced at the woman. She frowned at the outfit Ashleigh had chosen, looking like she was going on a trip to Paris rather than to the middle of a jungle.

Brad shrugged and grabbed a bag of Cheetos. "You want any?"

Jane shook her head and leaned back, closing her eyes. "I hate flying."

    "Oh yeah?"

"My ears ache and my stomach drops and...ugh." She shuddered and took out her CD player. "Don't bother me until we get there." She said, and put the headphones over her ears.

The plane jolted as it started to move forward, gaining speed as it went down the runway. A moment later it elevated into the sky. A crackling noise came from the speaker, soon followed by the pilots voice.

"Please keep your seat belts fastened until the overhead light goes out. My monitor shows that we are in for a smooth ride. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight."
