Cold-Blood ch.3

~~~Bill sat in his office staring at Roland's rolodex card, wondering if he should give him a call. There was a lot he didn't know, like if any of his men were alive, or if they were worth saivng if they were. There was a decision to be made, he just didn't know which one was right.

~~~Richard had awakened in a tree, he couldn't remember getting there, of falling asleep, but he did remember being chased through the jungle by raptors. He stretched his limbs adn surveyed the land to see if it was safe to climb down. When the coast was clear he climbed out of his tree.
~~~At ground level, he heard a steady static sound, like a radio. He followed it to find the body of one of his men. It had been mangled, so Richard didn't recognize which one it was. The body was lifelessly clutching his radio, and his gun was still strapped to his back. He had no chance of survival, it didn't even look like he put up much of a fight.
~~~Richard took the radio, and the gun, and any spare ammo he could carry, he also had his own ammo. The gun was a rather large machine gun, very efficient, but it was still a prototype. He slung the gun around his back and pressed the button on the radio. "Captain," he said, "Mayday, is anyone reading?"

~~~The radio in Bill's office sputtered to life, "Mayday, is anyone reading?" came the voice over the radio. Bill jumped to the radio and said, "Who is this?" Ruchard replied, "It's Richard, sir, from your team, if I had to guess sir, I'm the only survivor." Bill sat for a moment, bith frightened and relieved. "Ok," he said after a long pause, "We'll send someone to get you."
~~~Bill picked up his phone and dialed Roland's phone at BioSyn. Roland answered, "This is Roland" "Hello Roland, my name is Bill Ritch, I'm with the United States government and I need your help." Roland thought a minute, "What do you need?" he said.

~~~Richard sat with his back to a large tree, thinking. He didn't know what to do, but at least he had a high powered machine gun to help him if there was any trouble. He heard something fall from above, followed by a screech from the sky. He went to investigate the sound, and found a large, half-eaten animal carcass. It was far too large for any normal bird.
