Steven Spielberg was very impressed with Ariana Richards (Lex) bloodcurdling screams during her audition (she did it for 2 minutes straight), comparing them to Fay Wray in King Kong (From: Utahraptor)

NODP - Wake Up (Part 2)
    By Carnotaur3

Tod opened the door to the therapist’s door and closed it behind him. A woman opened it seconds later. He turned around, shook her hand.

“Sorry, I thought you’d be a while.” Tod said.

“No, not at all. I’m Dr. Katie Stinge. What is the problem today, Mr. Jenkins?” Dr. Stinge asked taking out a not-pad.

    “Sleepless nights… real-like dreams…”

    “Hmm… real-like dreams?”

“Yes. I feel like these dreams…well, they are nightmares actually, seem too real to me. Like they are actually happening.”
“Is this the cause of the restless nights in bed?”

    “Yes.”

    “Do you sleepwalk Mr. Jenkins?”

“I don’t know, I haven’t really set up a fucking camera or anything.” He said agitated.

“Sir, no need to raise your voice.”

“I’m sorry it’s the sleep…I’m not getting much.”

He sat up on the table, she could see his eyes were dull, dark, and heavy. She’d have to believe him, it’s obvious. The symptoms are there, you can’t think clearly at all when you don’t sleep.

“It looks like you are an insomniac. All you have to do is go get sleeping pills and go back to dream land.”

    He jumped off the table.

“I’m telling you I can’t do that. I’ve been clawed…stabbed…crushed in a tunnel… I cannot dream anymore. Isn’t there some kind of medicine you can give me to stop dreaming?”

“I’m only a therapist, honey. Not a medical doctor.”

He took off in a flash out the door.

    “I’ll find something else then.”

In his apartment on his couch, Tod lay looking at the ceiling watching the fan spin around and around. He had been doing this for hours at a time, but this time he was getting drowsy. Each turn made his eyes blink. His mind slowly drifting off somewhere else, and his body sinking into the couch. He felt like a rock, stiff and hard to move. He felt his body go deep…deeper, his eyes getting heavier…and heavier. Then, just when was going to stop watching the fan, his eyes rolled back into his head, the lids snapped shut, and he was left to fend for himself in his sleeping stage.
Fog formed around him, he couldn’t see anything. He did hear a woman’s voice. It sounded so far away, but each second it became closer and closer, till finally she seemed to be right next to him. The fog uplifted and he saw her in the nighttime light. She was beautiful, blond hair, slim body, but she had bloodied cloths. Claw marks it looked like was on her shoulder. She was holding something…a flat board. He seemed to float to next to her. No…he was on that board. She was carrying him. He looked to his left; someone else was on the other side. It turned out to be Jack.

“J….a…” Tod muttered through stuttered words.

    Jack glimpsed down at him.

“Debra, Tod’s awake. He’s finally awake!” Exclaimed Jack.

“Not now, Jack. They are coming. Quickly, up to the cabin.” Exclaimed Debra.

Tod finally looked beyond Debra and Jack and saw they were in a forest. Leafless forest. It was cold; he could see his breath in the moonlight. Debra and Jack raced up to the cabin quickly, with Tod on the flat board. They opened the door and closed it behind them, just when Tod heard a loud screech outside. It was inhuman… unnatural.
He sat up on the board when they lowered him down on the floor. He jolted up against the wall, looking around nervously.

“What’s going on…Jack. Who’s Debra? Your friend you met last night at the bar?” Tod asked.

Jack was curious as to what he was talking about.

“Tod, what are you talking about,” Asked Jack sincerely.

“Tod, how far do you remember of your life before?” Debra said.

    “Before what?”

    Jack and Debra exchanged glances.

    “Before the coma.”

Tod went into convulsions. Jack went to help, placing his hand on his arm and seeing if he was alright after he had stopped.
    “You ok?”

    “Yeah. I think so.”

“Tod, you were in a coma for four years. You awoke late last night after the Neods attacked and you feel down a hill. Then, one of them took you for a ride. Your back was nearly crushed, and we saved you.” Debra said.

Tod lifted up his shirt, walked to a mirror, and looked at his back. Scars were seen all around.

“Thank God, the hospital was still open.” Jack said.

“Why was I in a coma?”

    “Driving accident. Do you remember.”

Tod thinks to himself. All of a sudden memories had jumped back in his face. He recalled what had happened.

“I do… I think I do. Neods, what are they?”

“They are hell’s angels, they take on the form of man, but when you get closer they show their true self.” Debra said.

    “Ugly bastards too.” Jack muttered.

Scratching is heard coming from the door. Debra runs to a cabinet takes out a rifle and throws it at Jack.

“Shoot it.” Debra says, pointing at the door
