GRANT
What is it?
BILLY
I left it in the jeep before it got crushed.
Barron hooked his rifle around his shoulder after putting a strap on it. Then, he proceeded to the jeep.
BARRON
I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t want to wait out here to see what else is out here.
Everyone looked at each other, then, ran to the jeep to join Barron.
EXT. JUNGLE – AFTERNOON
Dodgson’s jeep sped through the open plain. He was still terrified at the moment.
He picked up his phone, dialed a number, then, waited for someone to answer.
A voice came on the phone. We can barely hear him but can still make out his words. The man on the phone is Henry King, one of Dodgson’s colleagues.
KING
Henry King.
DODGSON
Henry, I’m in trouble. Deep trouble.
KING
Calm down, man! What’s wrong?
DODGSON
Everything. I need you here!
KING
Where are you?
DODGSON
I’m in Costa Rica. Board a flight!
EXT. JUNGLE – AFTERNOON
The group was now in the area where the Carnotaur first attacked.
Grant climbed down from the jeep after searching for the map.
GRANT
It’s not there!
Barron nodded and then walked over to Billy.
BARRON
You sure you put it in the glove compartment?
BILLY
Positive!
Barron sighed.
BARRON
It’s ok, all we have to do it follow this path right?
BILLY
That’s how I remember it!
Ben finally spoke up.
BEN
(To Barron) Now wait a minute!
The group looked up at him.
BEN
That plan doesn’t make since. We go back, we end up back at the airfield!
GRANT
And?
BEN
And we sit there for four fricken days.
THOMPSON
But we have food, water, everything we need
To survive!
BEN
That won’t work. Those things are all around this area and that area. The best thing to do is follow the trail to the lagoon. Hopefully, well meet some Costa Ricans there that could help us. The lagoon is filled with many Mexicans. I’m sure we can find a way out!
BILLY
He’s right. I’ve been in that area before! They have to be there, unless the dinosaurs took over. But, it’s the best option.
Grant looked over at Ellie. She nodded. Then, he turned to Barron.
GRANT
You think that would work?
BARRON
It’s fine with me, but if I get my ass snapped on, I’m blaming you Potter!
BEN
The times I had that repeated to me!
EXT. JUNGLE – SUNSET
The jeep came around the muddy trail leading to another open field. We see that it’s the same field Dodgson has last been on. Then, we hear some noises coming from the deep lush foliage straight ahead.
On the trail, a large crocodilian dinosaur with a sail, came crashing down the trail with it’s mouth gaped open.
It was Spinosaurus.
The sight gave Barron the alert to reverse the jeep back. As the jeep flew down the trail backwards, the Spinosaur followed roaring with agitation.
BARRON
You gotta be shitting with me!
He swerved to the left bringing the jeep to an abrupt stop. They had no where to go with the jeep. They were trapped if they wanted to stay in it.
BARRON
Get out of here!
The group jumped out of the vehicle just as the Spinosaur’s food came crashing down on the jeep’s canopy top.
They ran into the lushes jungle as the Spinosaur roared again.
They lost it. Spinosaur retreated the other way in search for some slower prey.
EXT. JUNGLE – NIGHT
Group skip across the foliage as a plane flies across the sky.
BEN
HELP! DOWN HERE!
GRANT
Dr. Potter, this is not the time or place to scream. The plane can’t see us.
BARRON
Where do you think it’s going though?
Ellie looks up as it disappears over the trees.
ELLIE
Maybe here!
BILLY
You think it’s our pilot?
GRANT
I don’t know. If it is, we have no way to get to it.
EXT. RUNWAY – NIGHT
King jumped off the stairs of the plane. His bag in his right hand. He walked over to Dodgson, who was now sitting in his black jeep.
KING
What is it you want?
EXT. JUNGLE – NIGHT
Thorne looked in his pocket as he walked with the group.
THORNE
Oh no!
Barron ran to him thinking something bad had happened to him. It was bad, just not that bad.
BARRON
What?
THORNE
I left the phone on. It’s dead!
Grant was almost going to loose it. It couldn’t believe this was happening again.
GRANT
Come on guys, let’s go find a tree.
Donnelson looked up at Dr. Grant.
DONNELSON
What? To piss on?
GRANT
No, to sleep on.
DONNELSON
That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.
BARRON
Listen to him Dr. Donnelson, he’s done it before.
Barron walked over to Ellie.
BARRON
You gonna be all right?
ELLIE
I’ll be fine!
BARRON
Just what the hell are you doing here anyway?
ELLIE
I just decided to come along.
Dr. Grant looked up at a big tree.
GRANT
This looks pretty good! Come on.
A hiss rang through the air.
HISSS REAHHHHH
Grant froze in place.
RAPTOR!
It came from the side. Jumping on Donnelson with perfect agility. It’s killing claws so precise. It sliced through Donnelson’s back like a sickle.
Donnelson feel to the ground as the Velociraptor tore at his back. Eating it like a savage beast.
Grant decided to go ahead and climb. Barron did the same bringing Ellie along. Billy jumped up another tree. But Ben was silent and frozen in place. His eyes still looking at his partner being torn to pieces.
BILLY
Dr. Potter. Come up the tree! Quick!
Thorne and Thompson grabbed Ben from his frozen position and pulled him up Billy’s tree just in time for two more Raptors to pop out of the jungle. They all looked up at both the trees then dragged Donnelson with them. Back into the jungle.
A sigh of relief came to them all.
EXT. TREES – NIGHT
Billy looked over for Grant.
BILLY
GRANT!
Grant looked to him.
GRANT
YES, BILLY?
BILLY
What we do in the morning, do we head out for the lagoon?
GRANT
Have to. We have no choice!
Billy sat down on a thick branch.
GRANT’S TREE-
Barron took out a cigarette. He looked over to see Grant looking down at the jungle floor. He looked as if he wanted something, so Barron thought up something for him.
BARRON
Want a smoke?
Grant turned to him.
GRANT
I don’t smoke.
BARRON
Oh…
Barron lit one up and puffed it in.
BARRON
You know, for one day at hunting dinosaurs, I’m not doing too bad.
GRANT
You haven’t even shot at one.
BARRON
I’m learning.
Through the branches came a low growl. Ellie jumped up thinking the raptors or the carnotaurs were back, but, to her surprise, it was an Ankylosaurus. A herbivore with an armored type shell with spikes on top.
It started speeding up its walk when a group of Iguanadons started walking through. The alpha male took its tongue out, eating the leaves. Its tongue was just like a giraffe’s. Long, squirmy, and curly.
The Igaunadons looked as beautiful as nothing else.
BARRON
I just don’t understand, how these things are even here.
GRANT
Neither do I, but they sure are great to watch.
EXT. STREAM – MORNING
Ellie went with Thorne through the lush jungle towards a stream. Her canteen opened for water. His mouth full of water.
ELLIE
Thirsty eh?
Thorne looked embarrassed, but it changed.
THORNE
Hey, when you’re dehydrated, you’d do the same thing.
Thorne walked beside the stream as Ellie stuck her canteen into it. Then, Ellie followed.
As Ellie followed, she noticed he stopped in front of her.
ELLIE
What’s wrong.
THORNE
Um…
She jumped out from behind him, seeing a nest of eggs. Big eggs.
ELLIE
Let’s get out of here, mothers and fathers are fiercely territorial. Not just for land but for their babies.
THORNE
Sure thing.
Thorne had a scared tone in his voice. Which was a good thing, so he could react fast to anything.
Thorne led Ellie out of the area. But before they could get even further a Tyrannosaurus Rex, possibly female, came into view right in front of Ellie and Thorne. Her expression turned to horror.
It was a female, and then, the male came into view behind them. They were trapped. Thorne stood there, quiet as can be.
ELLIE
Don’t you dare move.
THORNE
Sure thing…
This time, Thorne could barely get those words out. His hands were shaking uncontrollably.
As Thorne and Ellie stood, the female roared in agitation.
ELLIE
I think she wants us out.
THORNE
Um…Yeah…
Thorne and Ellie ran out, reaching for the nearest branch to increase speed.
The Tyrannosaurs did not follow.
EXT. NEAR THE TREES – MORNING
Grant and Barron were talking as Ellie and Thorne came dashing towards them.
GRANT
What happened?
ELLIE
Tyrannosaurs, we need to get out of their territory.
GRANT
All right, Barron, gather your men.
Billy jumped down from his tree.
BILLY
Morning fog is up ahead. You sure its safe to go through.
GRANT
I’m not sure about anything anymore.
Grant left Billy where he was and took the lead of the group.
BARRON
COME ON EVERYONE. LET’S GO!
EXT. JUNGLE – FOGGY
The fog first started with Barron, his body completely engulfed with it, but the group could still see eachother through it. Barron had his rifle ready. The kind of hero everyone loved to see fight something. But he wasn’t just fighting for the group’s lives, but his as well.
Thompson shouldered Potter. Potter turned to him, seeing Thompson nod forward. Potter looked forward. A noise was heard. Thompson threw up his gun.
THOMPSON
Dr. Grant! (Not above a whisper)
Grant turned, eyeing Thompson.
THOMPSON
Stay close!
Barron heard the conversation. He knew something was close.
Ellie and Billy were close to each other. Thorne was with Grant.
THORNE
Dr. Grant. I think we better take cover.
Barron saw a form of something coming slowly. It was big, but he could make out some horns on the top its brow.
BARRON
Oh, no!
The Carnotaurus snapped at Barron’a head, missing it by inches. Barron ran towards a log. Ellie and Billy split up. Billy went behind a tree. Ellie headed for the same log as Barron. As they both went in, a foot plopped down on the muddy ground and then another landed on the top of the log, sending it to roll across the jungle floor.
BARRON
Ah, shit!
ELLIE
SHIT!
They were both rolling around, then suddenly shot back by the foot again. It stomped on the top.
Splits occurred on the ceiling of the log. Ellie looked up to see it.
ELLIE
MOVE, GO NOW!
Barron and Ellie moved toward the middle of the log, as the foot crashed through the slit.
Moments later the Carnotaur’s eye peeped throguh the side of the log and in the hole. It’s jaws grew wide and started to drool, then it roared a horrifying roar.
Nest thing they knew, the Carnotaur was stomping on the middle of the log, sending Ellie and Barron to move towards the left side of the log.
The foot collapsed the middle. The Carnotaur took another glance it. It roared and then kicked the log back, sending it down a steep hill.
Barron’s gun flew out of his arm and out of the log. The Carnotaur chased down the rolling log.
CUT TO:
Billy saw the rifle, laying in the mud. Billy knew what he had to do. He ran and grabbed the rifle in his hands.
Grant saw him and ran with him.
GRANT
I’ll distract it, you shoot!
BILLY
Ok!
CUT BACK TO:
Log finally stops at the ledge of a cliff, caught by a thick branch. The log hung over, with the left hole hanging free for the people to slid out of and fall to their death. But Barron and Ellie hung onto the gapes in the log.
As they hung, the Carnotaur came crashing down the hill. It’s eyes fixed on the helpless humans.
Suddenly they were flung upwards. They looked up to see the Carnotaur tying to snatch the out with it’s jaws. It was no use though. It shot it’s body back with the log in it’s mouth.
The log came to rest on the ground. The Carnotaur stomped its foot again on the top.
Then Grant started yelling behind the Carnotaur.
GRANT
HEY, OVER HERE! COME AND GET ME!
The Carnotaur roared through the air, and rushed toward Grant.
Shots from the rifle pierced the Carnotaur’s neck. Blood splattered on the ground.
CUT TO:
Barron and Ellie climbed out of the log slowly. Their eyes looking at the dinosaur.
CUT TO:
The Carnotaurus noticed Billy. Billy kept shooting at it. But after the first shot he seemed to miss him every time. Finally he shot at the Carnotaur’s eye. The dinosaur stepped back, It’s roar turning to hurtful cries. It’s eye wounded and full of blood.
Realizing the pain, the ran back into the jungle, still crying through the air.
Grant helped Ellie out of the log. Barron stood with Billy.
BARRON
Thanks.
BILLY
Any time!
Thorne, Potter, and Thompson jumped out from behind trees.
THOMPSON
Is he gone?
Billy and Barron looked at each other. They were both thinking the same thing. COWARDS!
EXT. JUNGLE TRAIL – DAY
Lewis Dodgson checked the gas. He had plenty. No time to linger though, he had to catch up with the group. Henry King sat in the front passenger seat, ready for the drive.
Then, the jeep drove off on the trail.
KING
All we have to do is get them out of there, right?
Dodgson looked like he had other plans than just that.
DODGSON
Um… Yeah, sure! RIGHT!
He seemed a little unsure of what King had said and drove on.
EXT. JUNGLE – DAY
Barron in the lead, followed by Grant, Billy, Ellie, Thorne, Thompson, and Ben Potter behind him. It was getting hot. So hot that it was almost to a degree where the sun could literally scorch them.
There faces though, were already red. Grant’s especially.
They passed by a tall tree, then, right in front of them, a concrete structure was seen. It was building. On top was a glass roof, showing the building was a little futuristic. But it wasn’t futuristic. It was something from the past.
A sign on the front door and on top f the building read
BIOSYN
Barron didn’t understand, why a building would be in Costa Rica. A, most likely, company would be smack dabbed out in the middle of no where was beyond the group.
ELLIE
What is this?
BILLY
Dr. Grant?
GRANT
I don’t know.
Grant was confused. So was the whole group for that matter. Plain fact was that it was a building. It was shelter, and they needed it!
Through the bushes they moved towards the concrete building, each step they were cautious.
They walked up the steps and into the building’s door. What was it?
INT. BIOSYN BUILDING - DAY
Barron picked up broken egg shells on the floor. He studied them, then threw them against the wall. Thompson checked the next room. It was an embryonic room.
THOMPSON
Hey guys! Come here!
Ellie was in the lead. She came into the room immediately.
She looked around and saw Thompson with an embryonic tube. The embryo was dead inside.
THOMPSON
What is this stuff?
Grant came into the room.
GRANT
Dinosaur embryos!
THOMPSON
Dinosaur what?
BILLY
Dinosaur embryos. (Walking towards one of the incubators) This was made out of frog DNA mixed in with dinosaur DNA. The very thing that created the dinosaurs.
THORNE
The very thing that the company stole from InGen!
Grant looked at Throne, confused.
GRANT
What?
THORNE
Over here!
Grant and the others walked over to Thorne. Throne had taken out a file in the cabinets.
THORNE
They stole the embryos from one of the InGen facilities. It says they stole them from Site C.
ELLIE
Not another island?
THORNE
No, I think it’s a facility I the US. Maybe for just storing. As it reads, it says they went backrupt a few years back and…
BARRON
Right, this is all just a wonderful conversation. But I do recommend getting the hell out of this room.
Throne stuck the files back in and they pushed on to the next room.
INT. BIOSYN UNDERGROUND COMPLEX – DARK
The group ended up walking into a dark area. Ben switched on the red lights. Suddenly they appeared. A map was seen on one of the dark walls.
BEN
Look guys. This is a map!
Barron walked over to it.
BEN
If we go to the end of this area we’ll end up walking beside a river. When we get to the end of the river we walk north till we reach the lagoon.
Barron started pulling at the map.
BARRON
Is this map gonna come off this wall?
BEN
I think it’s pasted on there.
Barron stopped struggling.
They walked in the dark area, when suddenly clinking footsteps started ringing in their ears.
GRANT
Stop everyone.
Grant breathed in and out, trying to calm himself.
Through the air a screaming sound rang. A male raptor clanged down to the concrete ground and snapped at Ben. Ben ran towards a steel ladder. He couldn’t see a ting. None of them could. The raptor climbed up towards Ben, still trying to take a bit out of him.
The next raptor was female. It jolted back then sprang forward Thompson taking shaking him like a rag doll.
ELLIE
CLIMG THE LADDERS.
Everyone, except for the now dead Thompson, sprinted to the ladders. Now three more raptors were making their way towards the humans.
INT. CATWALK PLATFORMS – DARK
They could still see some things thanks to the red lights, but they had to keep moving. The ran across the catwalk and the next thing they knew, they were split apart by a amle raptor. They went into different catwalk sections. Grant, Billy, and Barron went onto one. Ellie went into another, then Throne, and Ben went into the other.
GRANT, BARRON, and BILLY’S CATWALK:
Running on the catwalk, the female raptor charged at the three humans. Barron tripped behind. Billy and Grant looked back and were beginning to run to him.
BARRON
Keep going.
