EXT. COSTA RICAN RESORT RESTAURANT – DAY
A man in a blue shirt and white khakis. His face was full of sweat as he went up to the taxi cabby and gave him his money.
From farther down we see a man eating a lunch at the bar.
The man walking to the bar is LEWIS DODGSON, the man we met in the boardroom. He’s going up to a Costa Rican named GUITERREZ, who is just about finished with his sandwich.
DODGSON
The group is coming aren’t they?
GUITERREZ
Don’t worry my friend, I’ll do something about it.
Lewis looks to be like he’s going to loose his nerve.
DODGSON
Just like you did with the safari group too.
GUITERREZ
It was a mistake.
DODGSON
(NOW ANGRY)
A man died!
GUITERREZ
A mistake!
Lewis rubs the temples of his head and then faces Guiterrez again.
DODGSON
They are gonna catch on to us, sometime. But it can’t be now.
GUITERREZ
I’ll think of something.
Lewis points at Guiterrez.
DODGSON
No… we’ll think of something!
EXT. PLANE FLYING – DAY
The plane flew over the Costa Rican jungle cutting through the air like a bird. The beautiful jungle floor so quiet and full of life at the same time.
As the plane flew, it began to descend.
INT. PLANE - DAY
Grant sat, looking tensed.
GRANT
Been a while since I’ve flown in one of these.
BILLY
Relax, Alan. All part of the experience.
ELLIE
You’re nuts Billy!
She smacks him with her back hand softly and smiles at him.
Billy chuckles.
GRANT
And don’t you be getting any ideas, she a married woman.
ALL THREE
(LAUGHTER)
EXT. COSTA RICAN RUNWAY - DAY
The plane made its descent on the muddy runway. Standing on the side of the runway were a few people.
The plane immediately stopped.
The door opened revealing Dr. Alan Grant, Billy Brennan, Dr. Ellie Deglar, and the Pilot. The Pilot’s name was Danny Diego.
Diego spoke to Grant as the got off the plane.
DIEGO
You have the cell phone, if you need it. I’ll have my fly around the jungle scheduled on Monday, which is 3 days from now. Also, if your not here on this runway on the fourth day, I’ll either leave you or go find you. I’m really scared of this place as you can see.
GRANT
Understood. What about the jeeps?
DIEGO
They’ll be waiting for you on the other side of that building.
Diego points over to his right, where a grayish looking building stood. No mention though what it was and what it was for.
GRANT
Ok.
Diego headed back in towards the plane. Billy, tenser than Grant was while ago, walks back over to Grant.
BILLY
Everything all right?
GRANT
Everything’s fine!
Ellie found her way to the people on the side of the runway, just in time for the plane to take off down the track.
Ellie nodded towards the people.
From in front of her stood, a well dressed for hunting, man. He is Daniel Barron. A game warden, and one of the top ones as well.
BARRON
Howdy do. And who might you be?
ELLIE
Dr. Ellie Deglar. Paleontologist.
BARRON
More like three of you’ll are.
Billy walks over beside her and then Grant beside Billy.
BILLY
That’s right!
BARRON
It’ll take more than your kind to get through the jungle. You people know about prehistoric creatures, but do you know about the creatures of today in this jungle?
Grant, Billy, and Ellie kind of shrugged.
BARRON (cont’d)
Yeah, I’ll keep you in line.
GRANT
You’ve never been with me!
Barron gave him a look then, took his hand and gestured to the others.
Baron pointed to a man with dark sun glasses with a green T-shirt and black long pants.
BARRON (cont’d)
This is Rick Thorne, but we all call him Doc.
Thorne nods.
BARRON (cont’d
Doc’s the computer and equipment expert. He’ll be helping us with the new technology of today as well as the equipment in the jeeps.
GRANT
I hate computers.
BARRON
Well, good because he’s your main man.
Barron looked back over at another man. This other man was an African American, specialty in high quality weapons. Barron was too, but only in hunting. His name was Gary Thompson.
BARRON
Gary Thompson. Specialized in weapons and such. Dangerous man let me tell you that!
THOMPSON
Only when I have to be!
Barron looked over to see 2 other people in the group. They were there talking in the back. They had know idea that Barron was getting ready to talk about them.
BARRON
Those two, well, they are scientists. Think they know everything. With there theories on the disappearances and killing. That guy is Jack Donnelson. Dr. Donnelson is pain in the ass. Don’t mess with him, don’t even talk to him. The other is Ben Potter. He’s bad at his opinions, but still a nice guy.
ELLIE
What theories?
BARRON
What?
ELLIE
What were their theories on this situation?
Barron finally got what she had said.
BARRON
Oh…Um… Coincidence!
INT. LOOKOUT TOWER – DAY
STUART PEPIN stood looking out at the dense jungle hills and mounds. They seem to go out forever. And as he enjoyed the beautiful sight, his cell phone rang.
He took it out slightly in his back pocket on his pants.
PEPIN
Hello?
On the other end of the line was DODGSON.
DODGSON
Are you and your team ready to go out?
PEPIN
They didn’t make it.
Dodgson was confused.
DODGSON
What?
PEPIN
Something happened. I can’t explain it. Their bodies were scattered about the camp. I am doubting your expedition, Mr. Dodgson.
DODGSON
Son of a bitch. Then, it’s me and you, and Guiterrez, it seems.
PEPIN
So it seems.
DODGSON
Stay there! I’ll be there in 10 minutes.
PEPIN
Fine.
