Jack - Part 1

DARKNESS on SCREEN
The screen is dark. We see credits come up and then the name JACK pops up and evaporates into smoke.
INT. HOUSE – NIGHT
The black screen turns a little lighter and then we see the colors blue and red flash on the screen as Mike, a police officer, kicks the door open. We now see him point the gun franticly in the air. We can also hear the voice of a woman on a walkie-talkie as Mike goes into the house.
We see a dark figure start to run.
MIKE
Stop right there!
Mike starts to run after him. The man trips, but gets back up quickly. The man runs towards a door and opens it only to find himself outside.
MIKE
Stop, I’ll shoot! Stop!!!
The man jumps over a fence outside and runs over to a nearby barn. A very old barn. He opens the bid wooden door and runs into the darkness.
Mike runs to the barn and stops a second to catch his breath. He takes out his gun and quietly walks in the barn. He walks silently throughout the inside, looking around to see if he can spot him. He sees him, now.
MIKE
Jack, give it up!
A gun shot explodes right on a wooden pole he is behind. Mike jumps as he sees the bullet fly to it.
MIKE
Let’s talk, Jack! We can work this out.
The camera then panels over to the face of Jack.
JACK
It’s to late for me now! I know what I have to do!
We see Jack rush out screaming and he fires the gun. The bullet flies into Mike’s shoulder. Mike jumps and accidentally fires his gun in the air. The bullet slashes through the air and hits a sickle that is hooked on the roof. The sickle falls onto Jack’s neck. The camera panels to meet Jack’s last scream as the sickle decapitates him!
CUT TO:
INT. BED IN MIKE’S HOUSE – MIDNIGHT
The screen cuts to Mike jumping out of bed. And then he looks over at the clock.
The clock reads 3: 05 A.M. He then hears a phone ring.
MIKE
Yes?
Mark Kinder, a friend of Mike, is on the phone. Mark starts to talk.
MARK
Mike, are you ok!
MIKE
What?
MARK
Are you getting heartburn from the ribs we ate?
MIKE
No, Mark, go to sleep!
Mike hangs up the phone hard and falls back asleep…
CUT TO:
INT. HOUSE – MORNING
Mike is now up. He is very cranky, but when is son comes in, he starts to act normal…
Dan Thomas, a jittery boy, is sitting down at the table.
DAN
Hey dad!
Mike looks over in surprise…
MIKE
Hey, son… You getting ready for school.
DAN
Yeah!
MIKE
Halloween’s coming… Muahhhh ha ha ha…
DAN
Dad!!!
MIKE
Ok, ok!!!
Mike goes out the door. And the door locks itself!
CUT TO:
INT. BARN – NIGHT
Three kids come in running in the dark barn and stop; catching there breath. One of the boys goes over and picks up a huge stick and throws it over at a big pile of sticks. He lights a match and a fire begins on the pile.
The kids gather around. And the older kid begins to talk.
KID #1
They still say Jack Forman is still alive and is going to claim his revenge this Halloween!
KID #2
That’s in three days.
KID#1
I know!
Kid #1 goes over and picks up a rusty sickle.
KID#1
Jack is coming back to this town with this sickle and a jack o’ lantern head! Some say he’s been here since he was pronounced dead. Others think he was never decapitated at all!
KID#3
But we know the truth!
Kid #1 nods at Kid#3 and Kid#1 throws the sickle into the fire and starts laughing a scary laugh!
KID#2
You’ll are such idiots to believe that story!
KID#1
What, it’s true!
KID#2
What, ever!
KID#3
I’ll be right back, got to go take a piss!
KID#1
Kids! Humm… I’ll be right back!
Kid#1 runs over to Kid#3.
KID#1
You know what to do?
KID#3
Oh yeah!!!
Kid#3 puts on a fake jack o’ lantern head and a plastic sickle with him…
KID#1
You wait here!
Kid#3 stands right behind a wooden board. And the other kid runs over to Kid#2
KID#2
What were you doing?
KID#1
Nothing, I think we better go its getting a little dark!
KID#2
What ever!
Kid#1 walks with kid#2 and then the jack ‘o lantern comes out with the sickle. He looks up at them.
KID#1
Crap, you stupo. Your not supposed to come out now!
The jack o’ lantern swats at him with the sickle and it cuts his arm!
He falls down and notices blood running down his arm. He looks over behind the board and sees Kid#3 with his head half cut off!
He looks up and sees kid#2 run for his life. The jack o’ lantern turned back over to Kid#1 and looks at him. Kid#1 screams and tries to get up but jack throws the sickle straight through his stomach!
INT. MIKE’S HOUSE – DAY (before Halloween)
Mike is out of bed and cranky again like always. His hair sloops to the side like a cowlick and guttural sounds come out of his throat. He walks to the kitchen and sees is son Danny eating cereal.
MIKE
Hey, Dan, getting ready!
DANNY
Yeah.
Doorbell rings… Mike is astonished and wonders who it could be.
He walks over to the door and opens it. He realizes who it is. It’s Jon Fray, a relaxed man who is also a police officer.
JON
Hey, Mike!
MIKE
Hey… Ok… What are you doing here?
JON
The Chief wants you now!
MIKE
Now?
JON
Yeah.
MIKE
Ok, let me go get my coat…
Mike runs over to the closet and grabs his coat. And then the camera cuts over to the door closing. And, again, the door locks itself.
