Jack - Part 3

INT. MARK’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Mark was on his computer console and then he got up and turned the computer off. The screen went black as he jumped up and walked to the kitchen. He started opening cabinet doors, searching for some food, then, he heard it!
A noise from upstairs… Mark turns around immediately with an alarming mind.
He went over and took out a knife from one of the drawers. He silently walked up the stairs with his heart beating constantly… He was now upstairs. He checked every room and then went back down. With relief, he put back the knife. Then, the phone rang.
MARK
Hello?
VOICE
I’m downstairs, ha, ha, ha…
Mark’s eyes opened wide. The camera shows Mark on the phone and behind him a sickle coming straight down. Before it actually hits him the screen goes black.
INT. MIKE’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Mike was sleeping on the couch and we then see Jane walk in.
JANE
Mike? Mike? Hunny, you need to get to bed… You look so dead!
MIKE
Ohh, Jane, sorry!
Mike started to walk upstairs and go to bed, when a sharp pain came to his chest. He keeled over to meet the floor.
JANE
Mike!!!
Jane started screaming as she watched Mike start to have a spasm.
The camera cuts to Mark’s eyes then we see it start to change into a jack o’ lantern eye. The jack o’ lantern eye begins to get small as the camera moves back and show the whole head on the front step of Mark’s house. We then see Jack’s feet walking straight past it. We also see part of a sickle with blood on it.
INT. MARK’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Mark was laying on the floor covered with a sheet. The police were there to, investigating and seeing what happened. Sitting on her knees looking down at the body was Jessie Langer, another police officer. She was also his girlfriend. We can see her crying.
JON
Jessie, I’m so sorry. He was my friend too.
Jessie wiped her face and then she began.
JESSIE
His head is… is… cut completely off!
JON
I know!
Just then, Ryan walked in, he saw Mark laying on the floor. And stains of blood on the sheet.
RYAN
Oh, my, gosh…
JESSIE
I can’t believe it.
Jessie ran over at him and he raped his arms around for comforting her.
JON
Should we call Mike?
The camera shows people taking pictures and examining the body.
RYAN
No, not know. It’s not time. I want to know how this happened and who did it before I tell him. Maybe this is some kind of connection with the kids at the barn.
JON
It’s possible…
RYAN
I want you’ll to check up on this case and put a lid on it.
Ryan walked out the room and outside to his car.
JON
Don’t tell him Jessie…
JESSIE
I want! I promise!
INT. MIKE’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Mike was sitting in his chair. He was totally not feeling good. A little before Jane had gone to the store to get him some medicine after the doctor appointment he had earlier…
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK…
The knocks made Mike jump out of his chair.
MIKE
Coming…
Mike went over to the door and opened it.
MIKE
Jess’ are you ok!
JESSIE
Mike, Jon and Ryan told me not to tell you, but I have too.
Mike saw that she was crying and then she fell into his arms.
JESSIE (cont’d)
Oh, Mike, Mark’s dead. He was murdered tonight.
MIKE
Jess’, oh, Jess’… How? Why?
Mike had a tear too, running down his face.
JESSIE
Oh, Mike, I’m so sorry I hadn’t called you before, where’s Jane?
MIKE
She’s at the store getting me medicine. But, that doesn’t matter at all now! You’ve lost someone!
JESSIE
Oh, my, gosh!
Jessie saw a man, with a real jack o’ lantern head come running behind Mike, with a sickle. Mike turned quickly and saw him coming.
Mike pushed Jessie to the ground as he ducked. The sickle missed him by inches.
Jessie began to run for the door at the end of the kitchen with the jack o’ lantern following close behind. He swooped the sickle at her and then she ducked and kicked him out of the way. She ran for the door and locked it.
Mike ran for upstairs but the jack o’ lantern blocked him.
He had no other place to run except out the front door. He immediately opened it and ran out. He suddenly realized that after running ten feet the jack o’ lantern man was gone.
MIKE
Where’d he go?
CUT TO:
THE ROOM
Jessie was in the basement and was quite horrified of what happened. She looked through the keyhole. The camera shows the door start to rumble. Jessie backs up and then she sees the door open. Mike is standing there.
MIKE
Jess’ are you alright?
Jessie went into his arms and started crying.
JESSIE
Who was that?
MIKE
I don’t know. I really don’t know!
