When Lex says, "It's a UNIX system, I know this!", she's right! The 3-D graphical interface shown in JP is a real program (the "Virtual File System") that users of SGI's high-end graphics workstations (that run on UNIX) can actually use to navigate their computers.

    --Home Sweet Home-- Part 8
    By Carnotaur3

    DREAM SECENE

Through the house we watch see the house from dark
    to light.
Then, we stop at the door of the bedroom. The door
is locked. We see that Gabby is in the room, her
hands wrapped together, indicating she’s praying.

All of a sudden, Dan’s voice is heard.

    DAN
I’m coming to get you! You better
pray I give you a fast death!

Then, the door was busted through and he came into
view with a screwdriver in his hand.

As he ran towards Gabby, who was crouched on the
bed, he lifted up the screwdriver and threw it back.

Before we saw if the screwdriver had hit her it

    CUTS TO:

    68 INT. ROBERT’S BEDROOM – NIGHT 68

Robert Hardy was tossing and turning. The dream was intense as we could see. He could wake up from it.
But we all know that his dreams are real visions.

    We now

    CUT BACK TO:

    69 INT. BEDROOM – MORNING 69

The phone’s constant ring was heard as Dan tried
hard to call the police or anybody that could help.

    Phone went DEAD!

He hung it up slowly. We can see he’s confused and
has many questions on his mind.

He turned around, facing Gabby, and went up to her.
    She was still sleeping.

    He smiled at her.

Slowly, he went out of the door of the bedroom,
light beaming as his face. It was such a beautiful
    day.

TOO BAD they couldn’t get out of the house.

He looked around the corridor and walked down the staircase. Soon, he was downstairs.

    70 INT. KITCHEN – DAY 70

The receiver of the phone was at his ear, as he
    dialed up a number.

    IT NEVER RANG!

    VOICE
    (Scary)

We’re sorry, your call couldn’t be
received at this present time. But if
    you call back later…

The voice started to laugh loud. It was horrifying!

Dan slammed the phone back down.

Sitting down, he started to breathe really hardly.

    DAN
    Why is this happening?

    (LONG PAUSE)

What do you want from us?

A whisper through the house told everything Dan Henderson wanted to know.

    WHISPERS
    Die…Die…Die…

It was repeating it over and over again.

Dan ran out of the room and back up the steps to
    his bedroom.

    71 INT. BEDROOM – DAY 71

He tapped Gabby on the back, waking her up. Then,
he through the covers off her.

    GABBY
    What?

    DAN
You know how to run, right?

    GABBY
    What are you talking about?

    DAN
We both want to get the hell out of
    here, right?

Dan put on his tennis shoes.

    GABBY
    Yeah…

    DAN
    We’re gonna run for it.

    GABBY
    We’ve tried that already!

He finished lacing up his shoes.

    DAN
And we’ll try it again. Come on,
    let’s go!

    CUT TO:

    72 EXT. HOUSE – DAY 72

Both their hearts pounded as they went out the front door of the house.

Dan felt the wind, just as before rush up to his
face. The same cold, dead breeze.

    DAN
    When I say.

She nodded. They walked over slowly to the vehicle.
They knew they couldn’t get anywhere with that.
They both looked down the hill. If they could only
    pass the area.

    DAN
    RUN!

They made a dash down the hill. The ghost came
flying out of the house like a freight train.

Dan felt his body fly back once again. But Gabby
    kept running.

    DAN
    Keep going!

Dan found himself back at home, in the media room!

    CUT TO:

    73 INT. MEDIA ROOM – DAY 73

He looked up and saw the media room. The ghost was
    gone.

    CUT BACK TO:

    74 EXT. HILL – DAY 74

She jumped as the ghost leaped for her. Then, she
found herself out of the area. She looked up to see
a bluish atmosphere surrounding the area of the
house. It was a hazy surrounding. She had beaten
    the ghost to it.

Thinking of the word “Help” in her mind, she ran
    down the neighborhood street.

    75 INT. MEDIA ROOM – DAY 75

Dan jumped up and down as he cheered Gabby on.

    DAN
Go, Gab! Go and find Robert! Get
the hell out of here! God be with
    her!

    76 INT. RESTAURANT – DAY 76

Gabby entered a restaurant, country music playing
in the background. She looked over at the people
that were siting in their seat.

She must of made a racket coming in because they
were all looking at her. The restaurant was a
    little quiet for a while.

The people went back to eating and she ran to a pay phone.

Looking around on it, she picked up the phone book
and instantaneously flipped through the pages.

    GABBY
    (Whispering)

    Robert Hardy… Robert Hardy…

She repeated it till she found the name in the book.

She tore the paper out of the book. As she raced to
the door, she looked at the paper.

    GABBY
    (Whispering)

It’s just over there. Just over there.

She slammed the restaurant door hard.

One of the country customers turned to his friend.

    CUSTOMER
She looked like she had been through
    hell!

He started snickering at his joke.

    77 INT. MEDIA ROOM – DAY 77

Dan sat down in a chair looking out of the window
of the media room. His thoughts over Gabby running
through his mind. He was stuck in his house. He was trapped alone!

    DAN
    (Muttering)

    Alone…

Dan’s thoughts turned to horror as a thumping noise behind him made his body twist around to see what it was.

A BASKETBALL rolling straight at his feet. He
    jumped up, realizing the ball.

Then, little footsteps were heard. Someone was
    walking to the media room.

He looked down at the little feet of a little girl.

    JANNIE
    Daddy!

His mouth dropped open. It was his girl. His little girl!

    JANNIE (cont’d)
Daddy, you left me to die on that
    street.

Dan started shaking his head furiously. He was
    giving in way to quickly.

    DAN
    No, I didn’t know! I didn’t know you
    were hit.

    JANNIE
It’s all your fault. I wish you never
were my daddy! It’s all your fault.

He fell to his knees, looking at the ground. His
tears rolling down his face and to his chin.

Slowly his daughter walked to him.

    JANNIE
I forgive you though, Daddy! I
    forgive you.

He started to smile, even though he was still crying, and as he looked up the face of his little girl was his little girl anymore!

The SKELETON grabbed his throat and lifted him into
the air. The flesh on the skeleton was rotting off
    his bones.

    SKELETON
    (Gritting its teeth)

She left you here! She needs to be
    here! GET HER HERE!

The skeleton let go of his throat and, then, disappeared.

    Dan rubbed his neck.

Gasping for air he looked up to see that it was
    still morning.
