46 INT. DEN – DARK 46
It was day outside, but a little dark, for it was turning night. Gabby helped Dan into his favorite recliner in the den.
GABBY
Need anything?
DAN
Yeah! Get me the cable guide!
Gabby nodded to him. She left the den, and went to the media room.
Dan switched on the television set, and found a commercial that was quite interesting. It had a guy trying to sell video cameras.
Dan found it amusing. Then, when he was about to switch the channel, the guy spoke to him.
GUY
Don’t turn that, Danny!
Dan dropped the channel changer. Something very wrong was happening.
He looked around.
GUY (cont’d)
Yeah.
He finally pointed to himself.
GUY (cont’d)
Yes, I’m talking to you Danny! I want you to listen close, and listen very carefully to what I’m about to say…
We CUT TO:
47 INT. MEDIA ROOM – DARK 47
Gabby took the cable guide in her hands, but before she got up to take it to Danny, she saw him outside. He was running around to the left side of the house.
She became worried and decided to go out to the garage and open that door and run after Dan.
She exited out from the media room.
CUT BACK TO:
48 INT. DEN – DARK 48
The guy in the commercial was still talking to Danny.
GUY
Don’t let her take over you, Dan! Take charge! You know we are real. Go and prove it to her. If she can’t handle it, do what you must. KILL HER!
Dan started to tremble.
He pressed the buttons on the channel changer as he picked it up. He kept pressing, but nothing was changing.
GUY (cont’d)
Kill her, Danny! It’s the only way to shut that annoying mouth she has. Stab her to death! Stop running from the solution!
Danny pulled at his hair constantly and then covering his ears to keep the voice from entering into his mind.
CUT BACK TO:
49 EXT. OUTSIDE OF HOUSE – GETTING DARK 49
Gabby ran out of the garage screaming.
GABBY
Dan! Where are you?
She looked around the house and saw the gate to the fence was opened.
She exited to the backyard.
CUT BACK TO:
50 INT. DEN – DARK 50
He’s shaking his head now, pain dwelling up in his body, as he started to listen to the guy on the commercial.
GUY
Join us, Danny! Together, we’ll be immortal. Together we can do what ever we want. Go ahead and kill her. Nobody will know. They will not prove a damn thing!
Dan jumped up and screamed at the guy.
DAN
NO!!! GET AWAY FROM ME!
BACK TO:
51 EXT. BACKYARD – TURNING DARK 51
Walking in the backyard, she looked around, confused. Where did Dan go?
All of a sudden, a rustle came behind her. She turned around frightened.
A few yards ahead stood Dan…but it wasn’t him!
The same dark eyes that Dan was talking about earlier that were on Gabby were showing up here on Dan.
She stood watching him not muttering a word, then, he exited to the side of the house again.
GABBY
Dan, where are you going?
She ran to the side of the house.
CUT BACK TO:
52 INT. DEN – DARK 52
Dan is now pacing back in forth in front of the television set, speaking words under his breath.
GUY
You’re the only one that can help us, Dan! Are you in or out?
Dan looked at the guy on the commercial.
CUT BACK TO:
53 EXT. BACKYARD – TURNING DARK 53
At the side of the house, Gabby saw nothing. It was like he disappeared out of thin air.
CUT BACK TO:
54 INT. DEN – DARK 54
The guy talked.
GUY
KILL…
55 EXT. BACKYARD – TURNING DARK 55
Gabby sighed, and began to turn around.
56 INT. DEN – DARK 56
The guy finished up as Dan’s mouth dropped open with terror.
GUY
HER!
57 EXT. BACKYARD – TURNING DARK 57
Gabby turned around to meet Dan, except his flesh was rotting off his face, blood dripping down his chin. He smiled at her with the most demonic smile.
DAN
Hello, BABY!
Dan reached for her neck and squeezed tight around it. Lifting her up, he muttered to her in a frightful voice:
DAN (cont’d)
Come with me! Come with me to hell!
CUT BACK TO:
58 INT. DEN – DARK 58
Dan looked at the clock.
7:00 P.M.
CUT BACK TO:
59 EXT. BACKYARD – TURNING DARK 59
Gabby screamed as Dan squeezed harder and pulled her down with him into the earth.
GABBY
Ahhh…
60 INT. DEN – DARK 60
Dan heard her screams.
GABBY (O.S.)
Ahhh…
He raced out the front door.
61 EXT. OUTSIDE – TURNING DARK 61
His feet tracked down the walkway and onto the driveway. Then, he left to the backyard.
At the backyard, he saw Gabby being pulled down in the earth by a hand. Her screaming was so loud, neighbors were sure to hear it.
He grabbed her immediately.
Leaving the backyard, they got to the car. He looked inside the vehicle.
NO KEYS.
They both raced to the door of the house.
62 INT. HOUSE – DARK 62
They went through the threshold and entered the house. He and Gabby raced up the stairs and then, heard the door slam behind them.
GABBY
Oh shit!
They ran up the steps to their bedroom.
63 INT. BEDROOM – DARK 63
He took the keys in his hands, and grabbed Gabby.
DAN
Back down the stairs, now!
He pushed her along.
64 INT. DOWN THE STAIRS – DARK 64
They stumbled down the stairs, then, Dan felt his feet give out and he fell down the steps. Gabby helped him up, then, they headed to the door.
65 EXT. OUTSIDE – NIGHT 65
The door flung open, and their bodies zipped out. Racing down the path and to the car, Gabby started screaming at Dan to hurry!
The keys he had in his hands fumbled around his fingers as he tried to find the right keys to the vehicle.
GABBY
Hurry now!
DANNY
I can’t find it!
He dropped the keys on the gravel driveway.
As he reached down for them, he looked up to see the window to the media room above was glowing dark red.
Gabby noticed it too.
GABBY
Dan, tell me this isn’t happening.
DAN
I can’t!
He found the key real fast, then stuck it into the door.
The vehicle was instantly UNLOCKED!
They both, at the same time, jumped into the car.
66 INT. CAR – DARK 66
Hopping into the driver’s seat, Dan turned the keys in the ignition.
It wouldn’t work. Dan wondered.
DAN
What a piece of shit!
GABBY
This never happens. (Looking up) Oh, merciful God!
Dan lifted his head to see the red light was moving through the house…
And to the front door!
He kept turning the keys, but nothing seemed to work.
HE GAVE IN!
DAN
Run for it!
Gabby took the keys out of the ignition.
They both jumped out of the car, just as the front door flung open and a terrifying sound of quick footsteps were heard.
Running down from houses area, Dan felt his body get pulled back suddenly. Then, his body was in a world of chaos as he was tossed about on the ground.
Gabby looked back only to be beaten down to the ground too. Then, they were both sliding back towards the house, still on the ground.
It was HORROR happening right before their eyes. And as they began to slow down, then finally stop, they found themselves back at…
CUT TO:
HOME!
67 INT. BEDROOM – NIGHT 67
They looked up to see they were back in their bedroom. Dan stood up to scream.
DAN
NO! GET ME OUT OF THIS FRICKEN HOUSE!
Gabby started to cry. He looked down towards her.
DAN (cont’d)
(Leaning down to her) I’m sorry, honey. I’m sorry this happened.
She wiped the tears from her face.
GABBY
What do we do now?
He couldn’t say anything. They both had no clue. He sat down with her on the bed and held her in his arms.
Rocking her back in forth he said with the most enthusiasm:
DAN
We’ll just have to pray to God. We have to keep our faith in Him. Always! He’ll get us through this.
